Chapter 349: Chapter 148: Dock! Dock Bai Xiaobo’s Bonus

Old Tang was one of the first people from the Capital City group to arrive in Jingzhou!

After discovering that all the high-speed rail and plane tickets were sold out, Old Tang immediately made an excellent decision: he rented a car and drove to Jingzhou.

Once he got to Jingzhou, he didn’t even take a break, driving straight to the High-Tech Development Zone.

"Go, go, go! We have to be the first bloggers to get the scoop on Delicious!"

He led his team members straight into the Meiweilai Building and pressed the elevator button several times, only to find it was stuck on the 32nd floor and wouldn’t budge.

Old Tang made an instant decision: take the stairs!

"Teacher Tang, are you sure you’re in shape to be climbing stairs?"

"You’re looking down on me, huh? It’s just nineteen floors. I was in great shape back when I was an apprentice!"

His assistant recorded this part too.

’This has to go in the video,’ he thought. ’The views will be explosive!’

「Fifteen minutes later.」

Old Tang stumbled out of the stairwell, leaning against the wall and huffing and puffing. "Damn it, I’m not as young as I used to be. Climbing nineteen floors almost broke my back."

"Pfft! You... should we go in and take a look?"

"Let’s go!"

After walking through the company’s main entrance, Old Tang, out of professional habit, stood by the door and scanned his surroundings. His gaze immediately fell on the area around the words "Meiweilai Company".

"These photos... zoom in on them."

Through the camera lens, Old Tang’s chubby finger pointed at one of the photos.

"Isn’t that Teacher Lu? He was a judge at the event the other day. Is that Teacher Lu giving Boss Su a thumbs-up?"

Then, he pointed to the photo next to it. "Hiss! Teacher Cui Yufen? She was a judge at the event too! Oh, right! Boss Su is also the honorary head chef of the Capital City International Hotel. I almost forgot about that."

Cui Yufen was the head chef of the International Hotel, so thinking about it that way, it made sense.

He continued looking at the photos.

Old Tang’s voice suddenly cracked!

"This is... Awesome! Look at this one, the manager of Cuihua Building, and this is Jiang Wusheng, the director of the Huaiyang Cuisine Museum, and this is..."

Old Tang rattled off a long list of names. He recognized nearly half the people in that group photo. Every single one was a big shot, a top-tier chef who could easily command their own region!

"All these people are giving Boss Su a thumbs-up? Holy crap, this Delicious restaurant is something else. It’s a real-life Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon!"

This time, Old Tang felt that his loss with the tiramisu was completely justified.

These few photos alone featured several top masters of Huaiyang and Hubei Cuisine, plus damn near half the top figures from the Lu Cuisine circle.

"No wonder Delicious is reservation-only. If they accepted walk-ins, Boss Su would never be able to handle it all by himself!"

Old Tang led his team further inside.

"Do you think we’re in the wrong place? This looks like their administrative office area."

The first thing they saw were some slightly messy office desks. However, near the west side, they filmed a private room named "Peach Blossom Spring".

Only then did he feel like he hadn’t come to the wrong place after all.

They passed through the office area into a dining hall, and then into the kitchen.

"Huh? That’s weird. Why is no one here? Are you sure we’re in the right place?"

The assistant scratched his head. ’How could we be in the wrong place?’

It was obvious they were inside the company. As for why no one was around, that was a mystery.

The young woman in charge of the lighting spoke up, "I think they also have a second floor. I added their product manager before we came and heard them mention it."

"Let’s go! Let’s head down and take a look."

Old Tang went back to the stairwell. They say going down is harder than going up, and frankly, descending the stairs was pretty painful too. Especially for someone his size, his knees were aching faintly by the time he reached the second floor in one go.

"Huh? Why do I smell meat? Do you guys smell that?"

The young woman sniffed the air. "There is a meaty smell, but who eats meat this early in the morning?"

"No way they’re eating meat," the camera assistant said. "We’ve traveled all over the country for years, and I’ve never seen anyone eat meat first thing in the morning."

The three of them hesitated for a moment before entering the second floor together.

This floor was very spacious. Aside from some small beds for children, there were only four-person dining tables. A few steps inside, and a single glance revealed just how wide-open it was.

With just that one look, they saw four people sitting at a table at the far end.

"That person looks like Boss Su!"

Old Tang squinted for a long time. "I think you’re right. Why isn’t he eating?"

The three of them continued forward. When they were about ten meters away, Old Tang called out at the top of his lungs.

"Boss Su! Boss Su, hello, hello!"

As he spoke, he quickened his pace, extending both hands from a distance.

Su Chen was sitting and watching the other three eat red braised pork. He had to admit, back in the kitchen, they had all been putting on some kind of damn act, but now, sitting at the dining table, each of them had already polished off a bowl of it.

’What a bunch of animals!’

Hearing someone call his name, Su Chen glanced over.

The man was slightly chubby, with permed, center-parted hair and plump cheeks. He was a very popular food vlogger; basically, anyone who watched food videos had seen him before.

"Teacher Tang?"

Old Tang waved his hand. "Forget this ’Teacher’ business, you’re the real teacher here! Oh, right, Boss Su. My camera..."

"Oh, go ahead and film. It’s fine."

Su Chen understood what Old Tang meant.

Back when he was a vlogger, he had run into this situation often. Some restaurants disliked being filmed, so it was always best to get permission beforehand.

Old Tang exchanged a few pleasantries, and his eyes immediately landed on the three people at the table who were busy gobbling down the meat.
