Chapter 336: Chapter 145: This Is a Pastry? I Don’t Believe It, It’s a Walnut! (Part 2)

The bottom layer was lined with ladyfingers dipped in coffee liqueur, followed by a layer of rich mascarpone cream, and then another layer of ladyfingers. This was repeated for three layers and finished with a dusting of cocoa powder.

You had to admit, the dessert looked absolutely incredible.

Though it looked simple and elegant, not flashy or ostentatious, its appeal was that a single glance was enough to make you imagine its flavor and texture.

It made you want to take a bite right away!

"Wow! Teacher Tang is incredible! It took him no time at all to whip up this dessert. The camera eats first! Now it’s my turn, hehe..."

Sweet appeared on camera.

She scooped a small piece into her mouth with a spoon, her face instantly lighting up with enjoyment. "The rich coffee flavor mingles with the cocoa powder, and the taste of the cheese is quite subtle. The crispness of the ladyfingers combined with the texture of the cream... Mmm... It’s so delicious!"

Teacher Tang smiled. "We’re just short on time. A tiramisu should be refrigerated overnight after it’s made. By tomorrow, the cream will have set completely. Eating it then—that’s when it’s truly exquisite!"

At that moment, Sweet’s stream showed over 100,000 viewers. It was impossible to know the actual number, but the live comments were scrolling so fast they were a blur.

Sweet brought the dessert to the judges’ table.

The event had started to get a little chaotic, with contestants all holding their dishes and searching for judges to give their feedback.

The few people on the platform were getting a little overwhelmed!

Sweet walked straight to Lu Yongliang, who was sitting at the far end of the table. "Hello, Teacher Lu! This is a Western dessert my guest streamer helped me make. What score would you give it?"

Before the event, Lu Yongliang had already been given his instructions.

The main goal was entertainment; he shouldn’t take things too seriously.

He scooped up a bite with his spoon.

’Holy crap, what is this garbage? It’s sickeningly sweet!’

’This stuff foreigners eat is so unhealthy. One bite of this cake almost sent me to my grave!’

Forcing a smile despite the cloying sweetness, Lu Yongliang said, "The texture is both crisp and soft, and the flavor is sweet. The rich coffee taste should be popular with young people. I give this pastry a 9! I’m holding back that last point so Master Tang doesn’t get too proud!"

"Wow! Nine points, see!" Sweet scurried over to the next judge. "Teacher Cui, could you please try this dessert and give it a score?"

Cui Yufen forced a smile. "I’m getting too old for sweets, so I can’t eat it. But it uses flour, eggs, lots of sugar, plus cookies, cheese, and cocoa powder. With so many sweet things mixed together, it can’t possibly taste bad. I don’t think a 10 is out of line!"

Satisfied, Sweet carried her plate on a small tour.

"Everyone, our tiramisu got a high score of 9.8!"

Then, she looked smugly at the camera. "Sigh, I wonder how things are going on the other side. What era are we in? Who still makes deep-fried food? It looks so unhealthy!"

Now that Teacher Tang’s tiramisu was finished, many viewers flocked over to Zhang Jiayi’s stream.

In an instant, her viewer count hit an unprecedented 20,000!

However, the PK progress bar at the top of the screen showed little change; it was being crushed by Sweet’s side to the point of being nearly invisible.

Sweet’s voice carried clearly to Su Chen’s ears.

Su Chen had no intention of refuting her.

Experts appreciate the craft, while amateurs just watch the show.

But Ling Shuyu was not one to be trifled with. "Please zoom the camera in a little closer."

On screen, the pastry in the center of the mesh strainer was completely obscured by the small, rising bubbles of oil. All that could be heard was Ling Shuyu’s crisp voice.

"The flowers and leaves of this world are not alike; flowers may fill a golden bowl while leaves turn to dust. Only the green lotus with its crimson bud can open and close at will, with heavenly grace."

Many in the audience were puzzled.

’We came here to watch a damn cooking competition, and you’re reciting poetry at us?’

However, the moment Ling Shuyu finished speaking, Su Chen gently lifted the two mesh ladles in his hands.

The lotus pastry, now fried to a pale pink, was revealed. In that instant, it was as if the pastry had come to life. Layer by layer, it began to unfurl!

"What everyone is seeing now is called: ’The Budding Tip of a Young Lotus!’"

Before anyone could even get a good look at the "budding tip," the pastry’s blooming suddenly accelerated. In just a few seconds, it revealed the yellow flower pistil within!

At this moment, anyone watching could no longer think of this as a mere pastry.

The effect was so lifelike, the imitation so perfect, that in the eyes of the viewers, these were four blooming lotus flowers!

And the blooming of the yellow pistils was so fast that it gave the illusion of a time-lapse.

Zhang Jiayi’s livestream blew up!

"HOLY SHIT! WHAT KIND OF GOD-TIER SKILL IS THAT?"

"You’re telling me that’s a pastry? You sure they didn’t just pick a lotus from a pond and deep-fry it?"

"My mom just asked me why I’m watching my phone on my knees. Does anyone know who this guy is? He’s got more titles than the Dragon Mother!"

"I’m sold, completely sold! That was incredible to watch. Sending a Carnival!"

Elsewhere at the event, the staff member in charge of the broadcast feed was sweating bullets.

"What’s going on? Eight hundred thousand concurrent viewers? What the hell is going on? Quick, switch the main broadcast back to Teacher Tang’s stream!"

"Damn it! Is it done or not!"

The young rookie, being rushed, was drenched in sweat. "It’s ready, it’s ready!"

The large screen behind the main stage was supposed to be randomly switching between the live feeds of the contestants. But just a few minutes ago...
