THE GOD EATER
Chapter 1136: Monsters In The Divine Court.
Since he couldn’t see through many of the five-star celestials, he couldn’t even be sure if they were five-star celestials. It could be that they were six-star celestials. Either way, they were too powerful for him to inspect with his Divine Spirit.
These findings sobered him up from the feeling of pride from the success of the establishment of his Divine Court. Now he was worrying about what kind of monsters he had allowed to enter his Divine Court.
’This is what I get for opening the door wide and allowing anyone to enter based on strength,’ he thought to himself as he chuckled.
’I didn’t have a choice anyway. It is better to fight among themselves than to give them no other option other than to pressure me into allowing them to join.’
’On the bright side, the more powerful these members are, the faster my Divine Mountain will grow. Plus, these powerful might not want to remain beneath me forever. After a while, they should quit and leave to establish their Divine Mountain,’ he said hopefully.
Suddenly, he went from hoping more Dao Lords would join his Divine Court to hoping that the powerful ones would leave as soon as possible.
The feeling of sitting in bed with monsters didn’t feel good at all. Anytime he tried to look on the bright side, the memory of how easily Black Chain had bested him would flash uninvited in his mind.
Perhaps what made the situation more dangerous was that the members of his Divine Court weren’t his subordinates. This wasn’t like the situation with the alliance of divine beings, with a host having power over the life and death of his subordinates.
Technically, the Divine Court was also an alliance in that the stronger the Domain Power of each member, the higher the benefits everyone in the Divine Court would enjoy.
It was also true that as the leader of the Divine Court, he was enjoying a greater benefit than the members of his alliance, just like Money Body and other alliance leaders. But in this situation, he couldn’t order members of the Divine Court around at all.
He had no authority over them, so he couldn’t snuff out their lives at any time. In fact, he couldn’t control when they join or leave. So they can leave the Divine Court anytime they want, and they can even try to kill him.
So if they try to usurp his Divine Spark by using contributions but fail to meet the requirements to challenge him, they could resort to killing him to get rid of him. Once they get rid of him, the competition will become easier for them.
Therefore, he is currently surrounded by Dao Lords he can’t control, who are strong enough to kill him, have a lot of reasons to kill him, and can even work together to get rid of him.
The more he thought about his situation, the more his head buzzed. He didn’t even bother with his son anymore.
When his son was defeated and had to leave, he didn’t pay attention. Instead, he was thinking, I hope every Dao Lord gets to have multiple copies of their Supreme Metacs in each godhead when they advance.’
’I really hope it is not a racial talent of the Gemini people. Because if it is, I’m in a lot of trouble.’
Then he remembered that time he thought about killing Martial Will. It made him chuckle and think, ’If every Dao Lord is like this and can get an exponential amount of divinity with each advancement, it means that the difference between Martial Will and me is higher than I thought.’
’Anyway, I still want every Dao Lord to be capable of this increase in power. However, I have to ask, how are these people so talented anyway?’
During his earlier investigation, he had noticed that many of the Gemini younglings have Cosmic Daos. Now he was wondering if they comprehended the Cosmic Daos on their own or if they stole them like his son.
While he was contemplating this matter, he noticed that some members of his Divine Court didn’t contribute any celestial gold to it.
There were only a few Dao Lords who weren’t contributing, but they stood out to him because they were powerful. By his estimates, they were five-star celestials.
’There is no way these ones don’t have money. If two-star runts can have celestial gold, these ones can’t be frugal because they are powerful. It has to be that they don’t want to contribute to the development of the Divine Mountain.’
As for whether this was a good phenomenon with pleasant repercussions, he wasn’t sure.
There was the option that these people weren’t contributing because they viewed his Divine Mountain as a future competitor and didn’t want to strengthen something they would have to compete with in the future when they built their Divine Mountain.
If this turned out to be true, Loki felt that it was a good thing, as it meant that the ones who were not contributing would eventually leave.
But it also meant that these people would only take up the benefits of the Divine Court to make themselves stronger without actively contributing and trying to make the Divine Mountain stronger. He didn’t like this one at all.
Either way, he had no control over the matter. He couldn’t force anyone to contribute, and he couldn’t force anyone to stay in the Divine Court. All he could do was find ways to incentivise Dao Lords to join the Divine Court and stay after joining.
Meanwhile, news about the benefits of the Divine Court continued to spread. This news also fueled speculation about what benefits the Mountain Lord was enjoying.
The more the news spread, the more absurd the conjectures about the benefits of being a Mountain Lord. For now, this didn’t affect Loki’s true body because the Gemini race didn’t have any intention of fighting him for some reason.
