Chapter 960: Chapter 797: Storm Encirclement, the 41st Demon God

Samuel finished speaking and immediately sent Sela the sandstorm positioning map.

Sela was shocked: "They’re trying to box me in from both sides?"

Samuel said, "I’ve got to circle around and fly out of here, you hurry and detour to the side."

Sela was furious: "What a buzzkill!"

So she shouted, "President, President, are we still in the match? Emergency situation, I’ve spotted another sandstorm ahead! I have to change course!"

Chun was chugging like crazy in the arena when he suddenly heard the alarm and jolted, instantly switching back to the Main World interface: "Then hurry up and circle around!"

As for how she detected it, Chun didn’t ask. She’s one of the Ten Lords anyway.

"Got it!"

Now Chun had no mood for the tournament either; better hurry and finish off the remaining dozens of bottles and get hammered first.

No, wait—do some Astrology to forecast the weather before that. Then throw in some subjective prediction later, maybe he’d gain proficiency again. After all, this time there were two sandstorms.

——Astrologer Profession Prompt: You have successfully predicted the current weather, Storm!

With forecasting at this level, even a blind man could see it; instant result right on the spot!

Then Chun switched back to the arena and kept chugging hard...

A few minutes later, Samuel reported to Sela again: "Oh shit! There’s another sandstorm on my detour route ahead, Sela, I suspect there’s one on your detour side too!"

Sela was stunned: "Surrounded on all sides? What the hell, how did a four-side encirclement trigger? These clearly aren’t random mobs!"

Samuel snorted coldly: "Most likely this guy isn’t being chased right now, so he’s using his free time to do something else. The Emperor found out, then manipulated the 72 Demon Gods to teach him a lesson."

Michael said in a deep voice, "Very likely. There’s Emperor surveillance on his wheelchair. Since the Emperor knows his destination, he can set up an ambush at this location during this time. The Demon God that controls wind should be the 41st pillar, Fujalo. It’s loyal by nature and once helped expand the Empire’s sea trade. The Emperor trusts it more than most."

Gabriel was dumbfounded: "No way, right? If the Emperor wants to teach him a lesson, just give the Head Maid a heads-up and that’s that!"

Michael said, "That’s not how the Emperor does things. If he can use his fists, he’s not going to waste words."

Sela grew anxious: "This is not the time to be saying all that. The key point is: what do I do?"

Samuel said gravely, "I don’t even know if I can break out alive. You at least have a Head Maid who’s skilled in Spatial Magic. Have her teleport you out; there’s still a chance."

Sela panicked: "What about Chun?"

Gabriel snapped, "It’s not like he’s your boyfriend. If he dies, he dies! The key is the Head Maid. As long as the Head Maid is by your side, you find a way to work it and you can still farm Angel City’s ruins!"

Only then did Sela come back to her senses: "I’m just pretending to be an NPC. I got too deep into the role, that’s all."

...

At this moment, Chun was chugging harder in the arena. He’d barely downed twenty bottles when Silva’s alarm came through: "President, we can’t circle out anymore. There’s still a sandstorm ahead, we’re surrounded by Sand Demons!"

Holy Shit!!

Chun switched back to the Main World and saw the night sky turn pitch black again. Even the wind that had been trailing them weakened. Was this the sign of storms merging for an encirclement?

The Head Maid spoke: "Sorry, I don’t have the power to break out like I did before."

Chun already had a plan: "Elder, same as before—you take the Head Maid and retreat first, don’t worry about me!"

The Head Maid frowned: "You’re—"

Chun couldn’t be bothered to yap: "Prison break charges? I’ll take them! Use this chance and go!"

Sela was fully immersed in the drama, freaking out: "President, what about you?"

Obviously I’m trying to get you out of here. I’ll tank this Storm with Divine Craftsman Level Hurricane, and while I’m at it I’ll do some subjective forecasting, pushing for Divine Craftsman Level Astrology! But to get you out I have to lay my cards on the table—fine, let’s lay them out. Isn’t this just them baiting me to talk?

Chun said, "I can’t abandon this sled. It’s an ancient treasure, I want to stay with it! I’ve got Grandmaster Level Extreme Survival. As long as I bury myself in the sand, there’s a chance I can hold out until you come rescue me."

Sela was shocked: "How can you possibly have Grandmaster Level Extreme Survival? That requires going hungry for many days straight, no food at all. Even I, a hard-practicing Wandering Nun, couldn’t pull that off!"

Uh? Holy Shit, I slipped up. That’s Grandmaster in the arena, I’m only Master Level 10 in the Main World! But we’re at a time like this and they’re still trying to get me to spill? Does normal progression to Grandmaster really require starving continuously?

Chun also went all in: "Actually, I’m possessed and parasitized by a Demon. I’ve never eaten food myself. The Demon eats for me!"

That explanation makes sense, right? Anyway, truth be told, since I was imprisoned I really haven’t had a bite. Aileen ate everything.

Chun hurriedly urged: "Head Maid, you hurry and go too!"

If you don’t go now, I’m going to spend Dark Privilege Value, alright!!

Silva said, "Got it! Just wait a moment!"

She finished speaking and immediately pulled out something shining with light, then hurled it hard into the sand in front—BOOM!! A pillar of light shot to the sky, blasting out a huge sand pit.

"President, get into the pit with the sled first!"

Chun’s heart skipped a beat. This wasn’t the Ten Lords worrying about him—what they really care about is this ancient machine, afraid the Storm will blow it away.

But you were just getting a kick out of baiting me to talk; now it’s my turn to bait you.

Chun feigned shock: "Elder, what did you just throw? How’s it so powerful?"

Silva grabbed the Head Maid: "It’s a cultivation tool. No time to explain. President, you must hold on!"

After saying that, she shot into the sky with the Head Maid, instantly vanishing from Chun’s sandpit view.

Divine Artifact is Divine Artifact, and you call it a ’tool’... But honestly, with my current Cultivation, can I even tank a blast like that?

Just then, Liya spoke: "Fight with everything you’ve got. It should be the Emperor’s most loyal Demon Servant, the 41st pillar Demon God Fujalo."

41st pillar? President Sister said the Emperor’s main Demon Servant force is pillars 50 to 72. This 41st pillar obviously wouldn’t be King-level, more like a Count?

Chun asked, "It should be bringing a few Sand Demons with it, right?"

Liya said, "Those Sand Demons are all Spirit-type; leave them to me and Aileen and the Nightmare squad. But this Demon God’s raging wind directly Attacks your body. You have to resist with everything you have. Once we cripple those Sand Demons, its wind won’t be nearly as fierce..."

...

Ten Lords Chat Group.

Samuel was still struggling to break out at the junction of the two sandstorms, while Sela’s situation was much better—she’d been directly teleported out of the core wind zone by the Head Maid. Even so, the whole desert in sight was a blur of flying sand. With such overwhelming force, there was no way this was mere Sand Demons; it had to be the 41st pillar.

Sariel’s attention, however, was on the arena, amused: "Look, he’s stopped moving, and he’s stopped drinking too!"

Metatron snorted: "That’s what you call trash—he can’t even operate on two lines at once."

Gabriel sighed, "So that’s how he trained his Extreme Survival. Boss guessed right. Normal players really can’t log in on the dot at 6 and 12 every day just to eat."

Metatron sighed, "No wonder all the fine food and wine I kept giving him never broke his skill. He’s not pure trash; at least his behind-the-scenes team is pretty impressive."

Sariel sneered, "We’re targeting his behind-the-scenes team."
