The Game Became Reality, I Became an Immortal in Reality
Chapter 33 - 29: Cyan Cloud Sect’s Disciple Benefits
Chapter 33: Chapter 29: Cyan Cloud Sect’s Disciple Benefits
ROAR!
A resonant dragon roar tore through the sky as the silver-white flood dragon clamped its jaws onto Bian Shouyi’s weapon.
CRACK!
The sturdy profound iron longsword shattered instantly, breaking into countless fragments that scattered like snowflakes. Yet, the unstoppable silver dragon did not halt there; it continued its relentless charge straight at Bian Shouyi. Fortunately, the silver flood dragon didn’t actually strike him. Instead, it brushed past his ear. Taking a few strands of Bian Shouyi’s hair with it, it slammed dead center into the open ground behind him.
BOOM!
The flood dragon crashed into the ground, sending crushed rocks flying and dead leaves filling the air. When the dust settled, a narrow crater a full ten meters long had appeared behind Bian Shouyi. One could only imagine the tragic outcome had this sword strike landed on him. Defeat. A complete and utter defeat.
Bian Shouyi stared silently at the short sword resting on his shoulder. He asked in a deep voice, "...What swordsmanship is this?"
"An ordinary sword skill from the Treasure Pavilion, Water Dragon Roar."
After speaking, Lu Chen sheathed his blade, turned around, and walked over to sit on a nearby tree stump. He took out a bottle of mineral water from his storage pouch and chugged it down. GLUG GLUG GLUG.
In truth, despite how effortlessly he seemed to have won the fight, it had taken quite a toll on him. After all, Bian Shouyi’s Zhengyi Sword Technique was indeed incredibly violent; every strike carried immense weight and power. If his Water Dragon Roar hadn’t reached the Breaking Realm, allowing him to command the vibration power as easily as moving his own arm, he wouldn’t have been able to unleash such tremendous might with minimal spiritual power to block the attacks. Otherwise, he might have had to dodge the brunt of Bian Shouyi’s very first wave of attacks, let alone win with such a crushing advantage.
Having recovered his senses, Bian Shouyi approached Lu Chen and said with a serious expression, "I know of the Water Dragon Roar, but the one you executed is... different from the one I know."
To this, Lu Chen smiled and replied, "The same swordsmanship naturally differs depending on who wields it."
This time, Bian Shouyi remained silent for a long time. When he finally spoke again, the disappointment born from his defeat had entirely vanished, replaced by an indescribable resolve.
"Your swordsmanship is formidable, but I still firmly believe my father’s Zhengyi Sword Technique is the strongest.
"I will continue to work hard until the day I can defeat you with the Zhengyi Sword Technique."
After saying this, Bian Shouyi took the initiative to walk over to a nearby Cyan Profound Tree. He pulled out a spare longsword and began his great logging endeavor. Willing to accept his loss, Bian Shouyi hadn’t forgotten the bet between him and Lu Chen. He kept his promise to help Lu Chen chop wood.
Looking at Bian Shouyi’s back, Lu Chen muttered to himself, "Compared to someone who knows ten thousand sword skills, someone like you who practices one sword skill ten thousand times... is far more terrifying."
After this moment of reflection, Lu Chen took his phone out of his pocket and checked his in-game status panel. Since someone else was doing the manual labor for him, he naturally had the free time to do other things.

[Current Experience Points: 1635]
Six hours had passed since he entered the core area of Five Springs Mountain. These six hours in reality equated to roughly two and a half days in the game. Based on his current cultivation speed of earning about fifty experience points per in-game day, his in-game character had gained around 120 experience points in just these short six hours.
His purpose for opening the game naturally wasn’t just to see how many experience points he had gained. It was to complete Novice Quest II, which had been sitting there for quite some time. Completing this novice quest required fulfilling two conditions. One was for his cultivation to reach the Qi Cultivation Fourth Level. The other was to become an Outer Disciple of the Cyan Cloud Sect. Following his success in concocting a furnace of Qi Gathering Pills, all that remained to complete the quest was a simple initiation ceremony.
Previously, because Lu Chen was busy with his mock exams and chopping trees, he hadn’t rushed to Danyang Peak to acknowledge a master. Now that he had a tool man like Bian Shouyi doing the manual labor for him, he finally had the time to complete the final step of this novice quest.
True Cultivation, Cyan Cloud Sect, Danyang Peak.
"Junior Lu, from today onward, you are a sixty-fifth generation Outer Disciple of our Danyang Peak, apprenticed under Spirit Fire Taoist.
"This is your Disciple Token. Please keep it safe."
Lu Chen took his token from the Danyang Peak Inner Sect Disciple and said politely, "Thank you, Senior."
"You’re too polite, Junior Lu. Although you are currently only our master’s Named Disciple, I think you have a lot of potential. I have high hopes for you."
After saying this, the Danyang Peak disciple led Lu Chen to his new residence. Even though he was only an Outer Disciple, Lu Chen’s current situation was akin to an intern becoming a full-time employee. Having officially become a member of the Cyan Cloud Sect, he could now enjoy some of the sect’s employee benefits. These benefits included, but were not limited to, a permanent cave dwelling, a fixed monthly stipend of spirit stones, and a certain amount of cultivation elixirs.
Furthermore, to increase the happiness index of its members, if one managed to become an Official Disciple, the sect would even select mortal women with outstanding appearances and a certain degree of talent from the mortal world to arrange blind dates for them. This was done to resolve the disciples’ romantic struggles.
Free housing, free cultivation resources, and a free wife... The Cyan Cloud Sect’s "three-free" benefits package took excellent care of its disciples. As for why this benefit existed in the first place, rumor had it that during the early days of the Cyan Cloud Sect’s founding, there was a disciple who was so socially awkward that he hadn’t interacted with a single woman in three hundred years, leaving him with absolutely no romantic experience. As a result, during an experiential journey down the mountain, he was effortlessly seduced and manipulated by a Demon Sect demoness, leading him to commit numerous acts that endangered the sect. Thus, to prevent such incidents from ever happening again, the Cyan Cloud Sect included the marital happiness of its disciples into the sect’s welfare package.
And wouldn’t you know it, it actually worked wonders. Ever since this rule was implemented, not only had the Cyan Cloud Sect reaped many disciples with remarkable potential, but the disciples’ sense of belonging to the sect also increased significantly. It was a highly profitable move. Such generous benefits naturally made Lu Chen’s desire to become an Official Disciple of the Cyan Cloud Sect even stronger.
Don’t get it wrong. He wasn’t desperately wanting to become an Official Disciple just because he found out they were assigned wives. He purely felt that the Cyan Cloud Sect was a great place to be and treated its employees genuinely well!
While the senior disciple was leading him to select a cave dwelling, Lu Chen took a moment to look at the newly unlocked third novice quest.
[Novice Quest III: Become an Inner Sect Disciple of the Cyan Cloud Sect and reach the Foundation Establishment Stage]
[Minimum Quest Reward: 10,000 Experience Points, Random Second Talent Divine Techniques x1]
[Note: The higher the Foundation Establishment Quality, the higher the quest reward]
A guaranteed 10,000 experience points and a random second talent divine technique. The rewards for Novice Quest III were nothing short of generous for Lu Chen. Not to mention, this was only the minimum quest reward. He didn’t even dare to imagine how abundant the rewards would be if he managed to achieve a First Grade Heavenly Dao Foundation Establishment.
At this very moment, Lu Chen felt his drive for cultivation surge with unprecedented power. For a wife... No, for the second talent divine technique, he had to do everything in his power to achieve a First Grade Heavenly Dao Foundation Establishment!
But before that, he needed to claim the rewards for the second novice quest first.
[You have completed Novice Quest II. Gained 2,000 Experience Points. Spirit Root Talent +1]
[Name: Lu Chen (Cyan Cloud Sect Outer Disciple)]
[Cultivation: Qi Cultivation Fourth Level (4700/30000)]
[Current Experience Points: 3635]
"My spiritual power limit directly increased by ten thousand points. It wasn’t a waste for me to spend so much time on the Purple Mist Health Cultivation Technique.
"Now, let’s see how I can complete this third novice quest..."
