Chapter 100: Chapter 83: Lust Is a Bone-Scraping Knife, But My Bones Are Hard
Inside the dimly lit subway station, Lu Chen watched the swarm of Parasitic Spiders surging toward him like a tidal wave. He chose to use neither a Sword Skill nor Divine Techniques.
Instead, he retrieved a stack of Talismans from his Storage Pouch and casually tossed them out.
Talisman: Crimson Flame Talisman!
In the next second, a continuous series of explosions shattered the silence of the underground space. The resulting shockwaves and flares instantly engulfed a massive number of Parasitic Spiders in the tunnel. The flames spread to the surrounding spider webs, inflicting secondary damage on many more of the creatures.
Before long, a massive amount of Experience Points notifications began to continuously refresh on Lu Chen’s interface, scrolling like a barrage of spam messages.

To Lu Chen, dealing with these grunt-like Parasitic Spiders using either Swordsmanship or Divine Techniques was somewhat of a waste of Spiritual Power. Using Talismans was far more cost-effective. For one, it saved a significant amount of Spiritual Power, preserving his Power for any potential Foundation Establishment Evil Objects that might appear later. Secondly, it hardly affected his farming efficiency. He couldn’t bring these Talismans out of the exam anyway, so he felt absolutely no heartache in using them.
However, while the power of the Crimson Flame Talismans was decent, their Effect was only truly impressive against the Unranked Parasitic Spiders. Against the Spider-faced Men who had already acquired human bodies, they fell a bit short.
More than a dozen Spider-faced Men who had luckily survived the Crimson Flame Talismans burst through the roaring flames, charging at Lu Chen.
In response, Lu Chen calmly walked toward them.
SLASH...
Amidst the interplay of light and shadow, whenever Lu Chen passed a Spider-faced Man, a cold gleam would slice across its body. Every time the light vanished, a head would abruptly hit the ground, leaving behind a headless corpse.
Lu Chen’s blade was so fast that his movements were entirely imperceptible; it simply looked as though he were taking a stroll through the tunnel. Faced with such a terrifying Sword Skill, the dozen or so Spider-faced Men who had struggled to break through the wall of fire could only get within five paces of him before being permanently stopped in their tracks.
After clearing out the monsters in the area, Lu Chen gazed deeper into the subway and walked straight ahead. He could see that there were still many Parasitic Spiders and Spider-faced Men lingering further down the tunnel. The subway tunnel, which originally belonged to Jade Mountain City, seemed to have been completely reduced to a lair for these Nine Nether Evil Objects.
Along the rest of the way, whenever Lu Chen encountered a large swarm of Parasitic Spiders, he would take out his Talismans to resolve them. If a Spider-faced Man appeared, he would greet it with his Traceless Sword Technique. Not only did this save time and effort, but it was also incredibly efficient, allowing him to quickly harvest a massive amount of Experience Points.
Five minutes later, after traversing roughly five hundred meters of the subway tunnel, Lu Chen arrived at a massive, empty subway concourse.
The area was covered in thick cobwebs, and giant, human-sized spider cocoons were scattered everywhere. There were easily over a hundred of them.
Lu Chen looked at the cocoons, his pupils instantly shifting into the shape of a lotus. In the next second, the tightly wrapped cocoons became transparent in his eyes. Upon seeing the members of the Human Race inside, who were nearly completely parasitized, Lu Chen furrowed his brows. Even though this was just an exam, he knew that the scene unfolding before him was a recreation of events that had actually occurred. Naturally, he couldn’t help but feel a stir of emotion.
But just as he prepared to deliver a swift mercy with his sword to those who had yet to fully transform, a highly seductive, mature female voice echoed from the nearby stairs.
"Oh my, handsome, what exactly are you planning to do to my family?"
Lu Chen turned toward the staircase. A pair of pristine, long legs wearing red high heels abruptly appeared in his line of sight. Shortly after, a glamorous lady with a ravishing face and a voluptuous figure, dressed in a backless black evening gown, emerged from the stairs.
Her elegant and noble demeanor made it seem as though she were attending a high society ball, making her look entirely out of place in the dim, filthy environment of the subway station. Besides her alluring feet, the most striking thing about her was the white spider motif tattooed across her ample chest. The spider’s eight legs extended outward, trailing deep beneath the fabric of her dress, subconsciously tempting anyone to investigate further.
The glamorous lady crossed her arms, smiling as she looked at Lu Chen, who was standing still as if mesmerized by her. She teased, "What’s wrong, handsome? Don’t tell me you’ve also been captivated by my looks?"
As she flirted with him, she provocatively tugged at the loose hem of her gown, seemingly intent on revealing something to him.
Had it been a greenhorn who had never seen a beautiful woman before, her few words might have actually left him flushed and flustered. But for Lu Chen, who had lived two lifetimes and had been a seasoned veteran who had seen it all in his previous life, her so-called teasing was nothing more than a trivial display.
After all, it wasn’t as if Lu Chen had never seen far more seductive scenes; he was long since immune. Thus, completely unaffected by the glamorous lady’s antics, he utilized the X-ray Vision of his Cyan Lotus Pupils to instantly see through to her true essence.
Resting right on top of the glamorous lady’s head, Lu Chen clearly saw a white spider curled up with its eight legs tucked in tight.
