Chapter 993: Xuanyuan Alliance

Chapter 993: Chapter 993: Xuanyuan Alliance

Facing the conditions proposed by Jiuli Dark Lord, Xuanyuan Tongzhen’s expression showed little change, and he said calmly, "The reason I invited all fellow daoists to form an alliance is to unite our strengths and face future calamities together. How could we exclude someone just because they are entangled with a cause and effect of calamity?"

"Furthermore, Lord Blue Venerable would not gather all forces within the Immortal Realm for the sake of Sect Master Shen alone. If she did, I and other fellow Daoists guarding the Heavenly Gateway would sever her roots in the Immortal Realm, gravely injuring her real body’s vitality! Even if the Blue Venerable recklessly insists on destroying Sect Master Shen, and the resultant tribulation exceeds the tolerance of allied daoists, they could still remain uninvolved to protect themselves!"

"Therefore, Jiuli need not worry about being implicated by Sect Master Shen."

What this old Divine Immortal said made sense. Although Lord Blue Venerable is a Heavenly Immortal, her real body cannot enter this universe world. Gathering all forces in the Immortal Realm to destroy Shen Mo would instead provide a chance for the will of heaven and earth, as well as many Divine Immortals and Heavenly Immortals, to heavily injure or even completely obliterate her.

However, Jiuli Dark Lord seemed unwilling to listen, a flicker of strange emotion crossing his face. He clasped his hands and said, "I beg Senior Tongzhen’s pardon; I truly cannot at ease sign such an alliance!"

"It’s fine."

"I have some trivial matters to handle in the mountains, so I won’t stay here any longer. I wish Senior Tongzhen success in finding a worthy son-in-law and Lady Luan in finding a suitable Dao companion."

After Jiuli Dark Lord finished speaking, a swirl of ghostly energy enveloped him, transforming into a streak of black light that disappeared from the spot.

After his aura completely vanished, Lady Scarlet beside Shen Mo couldn’t help but say softly, "Senior Brother Qingyun, this ghost Earth Immortal’s refusal to sign the alliance clearly harbors ill intentions towards you, wanting to escape the confines of the alliance. Be sure to remain cautious when moving about outside!"

Before Shen Mo could respond, Jade Spring Fairy interjected with a smile, "His little grudge with Qingyun is nowhere near a life or death matter. Jiuli Dark Lord only used this as an excuse not to sign the alliance, brushing off Senior Tongzhen’s face."

"What the Fairy said is very true!"

Jiuli Dark Lord, for the sake of his followers, willingly faced tribulation and became a Soul Ghost, even eventually cultivating into an Earth Immortal. Shen Mo holds considerable respect for his character and talents.

However, from the moment he fell due to tribulation, the original human great cultivator had already died. The being now "living" is a Soul Ghost, and even after cultivating into a True Immortal, shedding the usual mindless, murderous traits of typical Soul Ghosts, his essence remains that of a powerful ghost, differing fundamentally from human True Immortals.

Moreover, most True Immortals invited by Xuanyuan Tongzhen hail from the Human Race, being human True Immortals, while the remaining Class VII Spiritual Monsters, big demons, and True Dragons belong to the more human-friendly races of the Ten Thousand Races of the Immortal Realm, unlike Soul Ghosts who are inherently incompatible...

In addition, the detailed alliance terms also involve friendly exchanges and mutual benefits, but the millions of Soul Ghosts in Jiuli Mountain find it difficult to maintain normal exchange with other forces, let alone setting up immortal workshops, conducting practice duels, or sharing cultivation method manuals. The subordinates of other True Immortals visiting Jiuli Mountain would likely be dismembered and consumed alive by the millions of Soul Ghosts before they could blink, bringing almost no benefit to Jiuli Mountain or Jiuli Dark Lord!

Given this, Jiuli Dark Lord’s lack of interest in forming an alliance is perfectly understandable.

Thus, he leveraged his minor conflict with Shen Mo to resolutely refuse Xuanyuan Tongzhen’s "kindness," and Xuanyuan Tongzhen was well aware of this, making no further persuasion upon his departure!

Following this minor upheaval, the remaining thirty True Immortals in the Cloud Palace placed a drop of their essence blood and soul imprint on the alliance oath contract.

Soon, the contract floating in the center of the Cloud Palace transformed into a beam of immortal light and ascended into the Nine Heavens, disappearing into this world.

This alliance involves various forces from the Universal Realm, including fourteen True Immortal powers situated in Phoenix Continent, such as the Xuanyuan Clan, True Dragon of Hidden Dragon River, Jade Spring Mountain, Red Flame Sect of Five Dragon Mountain, Taiqing Sect, and the Southern Desert Monster Kingdom.

Since this matter was initiated by the old Divine Immortal Xuanyuan Tongzhen, and with the alliance being established at Xuanyuan Mountain, this alliance has been named the "Xuanyuan Immortal League";

However, constrained by many objective conditions, the Xuanyuan Immortal League is much looser than alliances like the Heaven Patrolling Temple. Even with Xuanyuan Tongzhen being elected as the league leader, he does not have the authority to issue orders or manage everyone. All matters must be discussed.

This arrangement coincides with everyone’s expectations, as after all, they are all True Immortals, and no matter how much higher someone’s cultivation level might be, others would not readily submit or pledge allegiance!

With major matters settled, the Cloud Palace once again resumed an atmosphere of banter and joviality.

The three Immortal Path talents who competed fiercely within the Scroll Realm determined the victor after a day in the Outer Realm...

Disciple Luo Chen of Taiqing Sect, leveraging the terrifying comprehension bestowed by the Taiqing Pearl, cultivated all the way to the Formless Realm Peak, mastering numerous formidable spells to an astonishing degree; in the final confrontation, he managed to withstand the combined attack of the Ancestral Land True Dragon and the descendant of the Demon Immortal, defeating these two competitors, claiming all resources and opportunities of the Scroll Realm, and upholding the Earthly Immortal Dao fruit in the 8,400th year!

When he emerged from the Mountains and Rivers Scroll and appeared in the Cloud Palace, he had reverted to his original early-stage Formless Realm cultivation, with a lingering sense of disorientation, unable to return to his senses for a long time.

In the Immortal Scroll, the Lifespan lost, injuries sustained, dao fruit obtained, etc., were all illusory things, returning to their initial state upon leaving the Immortal Scroll. However, Luo Chen’s over 8,000 years of cultivation in the scroll exceeded his original cultivation career by several times, almost blurring the line between illusion and reality for him.

Moreover, having experienced the wonders of the "True Immortal Realm," even if it was only an illusory condition, losing it still incurred a profound sense of loss!

If one cannot walk away from it for a long time, it might even lead to the collapse of the Path Heart, forever severing the Dao Path...

"Foolish child, wake up!" The Law Master of Taiqing Sect was also present in the Cloud Palace, and his reprimand, akin to a mighty bell, stirred the souls of all who heard it.

Luo Chen jolted, his eyes clearing as he clasped his hands and bowed. "Disciple Luo Chen of Taiqing Sect greets Senior Tongzhen, all Immortal seniors. Thank you, Master, for helping me overcome the Heart Demon!"

"Do not waste the experience of eight thousand years of cultivation; take your seat and contemplate well."

Xuanyuan Tongzhen examined Luo Chen approvingly, advising him with a gentle demeanor to first digest the benefits gained in the Scroll Realm.

After all, Luo Chen had emerged as the lead among over a hundred Immortal Path talents, and as per the previous agreement, he was now the prospective Dao companion of Xuanyuan Luan. With this relationship, Xuanyuan Tongzhen naturally regarded him more favorably!
