Chapter 1000: Countering Demons with Demons

Chapter 1000: Chapter 1000: Countering Demons with Demons

"How are your achievements, Fairy?"

In the temporary mansion’s council hall, Shen Mo sat across from Jade Spring Fairy. They enjoyed the Drunken Immortal Wine while he asked about her achievements over the past few months.

"I’ve slain about a dozen Class VI Heavenly Demons, countless others below Class VI!"

Jade Spring Fairy, not using Mana to dispel the wine’s effects, appeared exceptionally beautiful, her celestial visage slightly flushed. As she spoke, she waved her hand, and a late-stage Class VI Demon-corrupted True Dragon fell from the spirit light, its cultivation completely sealed by Prohibition, lying on the ground like a stranded loach.

"Weren’t you looking to capture a Demon-corrupted True Dragon to refine a treasure? I happened to see this evil dragon while exorcising demons and caught it for you. How does exchanging it for ten pounds of Drunken Immortal Wine sound?" 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

"How thoughtful of you, Fairy!"

A hint of joy appeared on Shen Mo’s face. He thanked Jade Spring Fairy, waved his sleeve to store the Demon-corrupted True Dragon into the Sword Zone, and then took out a pot of spiritual wine for her. It contained thirty pounds of Drunken Immortal Pot’s Elixir, brewed with rare Spirit Fruit and Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures.

The flavor, efficacy, and Mana contained in the wine vary based on different ingredients. He brought out the one Jade Spring Fairy loved the most!

Jade Spring Fairy eagerly poured the spiritual wine to taste. It’s undeniable that her every move exuded Immortal grace, which made what might look like a drunkard’s behavior to others appear delightful and refreshing coming from her.

After slightly quenching her thirst, Jade Spring Fairy rested her cheek on her hand, leaning halfway on the wine table, and began to recount her experiences during the Demon Tide to Shen Mo.

Though many True Immortals came to this place to exorcise demons, it was difficult to quell this demon calamity in the short term... Heavenly Demons below Class VII are essentially not an issue; even in large numbers, they can’t withstand a good slaughter by True Immortals. The main concern is the six Class VII Great Heavenly Demons in this calamity, whose power is incredibly fierce!

They turned the western part of the Dongjie Continent into a Demon Zone, where Demonic Qi fills the heavens and earth. Even a True Immortal’s spells, while controlling the Spiritual Qi and disaster energy, are inevitably affected, preventing them from exerting their full strength.

And these Class VII Great Heavenly Demons have the advantage of terrain; even those at the early stage of Class VII can rival Human Immortals or Earth Immortals;

The highest-level one among them, a mid-stage Class VII Great Heavenly Demon, likely has the power to contend with a Divine Immortal, and even Jade Spring Fairy would flee immediately upon encountering it!

"Most Divine Immortals of the Universal Realm are guarding the Heavenly Gateway. Those like Senior Tongzhen who return to the Immortal Realm either remain unconcerned, are occupied, or disdain fighting Heavenly Demons for merit. Thus, no Divine Immortal has taken action to counterbalance this mid-stage Class VII Great Heavenly Demon for now!"

"If this demon doesn’t die, the demon calamity will persist for millennia, even ten thousand years without abating. I discussed with a few Earth Immortal colleagues; we plan to join forces to set up an unparalleled killing array to lure this demon away from its lair and ambush it..."

"Qingyun, your Mountain-moving Whip, if it possesses the power to move spirit veins and drive Immortal Mountains, can contribute to the formation. Exterminate that Great Heavenly Demon, and you can reap substantial merit from quelling this demon calamity!"

"..."

The killing array arranged by Earth Immortals is certainly extraordinary, requiring Immortal Mountains as array cores, channeling the celestial veins and earth spirit veins, gathering nature’s spiritual energy and disaster energy for assault.

Though the Mountain-moving Whip has the divine power to ’move mountains and fill seas,’ driving Lower Realm peaks is one thing; driving Immortal Mountains in the Immortal Realm is another, incomparable between the two. Mountains in the Lower Realm can be easily captured by a Golden Core Realm True Master. Still, some Immortal Realm mountains are heavier than the main stars in the Lower Realm, barely movable even by ordinary True Immortals.

With Shen Mo’s current cultivation power, he can use his Mana to move an Immortal Mountain ten times smaller than Yinsu Mountain. Still, to move Yinsu Mountain, exhausting all his Mana wouldn’t budge it an inch.

At that time, magic treasures are needed... If the refined Mountain-moving Whip could move Yinsu Mountain, it would be greatly useful when Jade Spring Fairy and Earth Immortals set up the killing array, allowing Shen Mo to share in the great merit of quelling the demon calamity. If it couldn’t even shake Yinsu Mountain, then he would honestly exterminate ordinary Heavenly Demons, earning some merit.

After the banquet, Shen Mo left the cultivation mansion and descended onto a peak of Yinsu Mountain.

However, he did not immediately concoct the Demon-corrupted True Dragon or forge the Mountain-moving Whip. Instead, he summoned the Soul Refining Flag.

In the past few months, he had not been without gains. He already refined all the Heavenly Demons taken from the Torch Dragon Mountain Range into Demon Soul Generals, causing the soul generals in the flag to swell to eighty million—of course, most were low-class Demon Soul Generals, with only eight new Sixth Rank Demon Soul Generals!

He sat cross-legged, casting seals into the Soul Refining Flag, with his Mana cascading out like flowing water.

In an instant, the flag flapped wildly, and a dazzling blood light surged forth, unleashing a magnificent, vast Blood River from Yinsu Mountain across ten thousand miles!

"Swoosh!"

The Blood River roiled like boiling water. Demon Soul Generals of varying strength and bizarre forms climbed out from the Blood River.

In the blink of an eye, including the newly refined eight Sixth Rank Demon Soul Generals, millions of formidable Demon Soul Generals gathered corporeal soul general bodies, intertwining an array of auras that dispersed the dense Demonic Qi originally belonging to the Heavenly Demons across the land.

The entire Torch Dragon Mountain Range was shrouded in the terrifying aura of the Demon Soul Generals, turning the sky somber and blood-red in an instant.

Apart from Yinsu Mountain, where Jade Spring Fairy resided, other areas swarmed again with returning large and small Heavenly Demons that once filled the sky with demonic flames and noise. Now they lost their momentum to the Demon Soul Generals. Some mutated Heavenly Demons, having Demon corrupted cultivators, demonic beasts, and other creatures, with a certain degree of gnosis, saw the unfavorable situation and fled towards the center of the Demon Tide on Demon Clouds!

"Go!"

Shen Mo softly uttered, and in an instant, millions of Demon Soul Generals swept in all directions.

Low-class Heavenly Demons encountered along the way, if of no potential or skill, were directly slain...

Heavenly Demons are unique in that they cannot absorb each other’s demonic primal intent through mutual consumption, unable to increase their power in the slightest; perhaps, when the Heavenly Demon Ancestor created them, such limits were purposely set to prevent mutual slaughter!

The Demon Soul Generals retained this trait, as high-class Demon Soul Generals could not increase their power by devouring low-class Demon Soul Generals or Heavenly Demons as they would with other prey.

However, Shen Mo can wield the Soul Refining Flag to continuously refine Heavenly Demons into Demon Soul Generals and let these Demon Soul Generals continue dealing with Heavenly Demons, using demons to control demons, thereby elevating the number and quality of Demon Soul Generals like a snowball. When the Demon Soul Generals in the flag reach a sizeable number, he can set an unparalleled God Slaying Array to attempt to encircle and kill the Class VII Great Heavenly Demon!
