The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard
Chapter 2923: Advance! Crush the Obstacles!
Carson Flores was quite surprised. Manager Bernard’s attitude had changed way too fast.
Before asking his name, Bernard had still been putting on airs, but the moment he heard Carson’s name his attitude flipped a full one-eighty, and he started explaining softly and politely.
Could it be that Manager Bernard heard about what happened yesterday, realized he was dealing with a troublemaker, and didn’t want to stir up anything, so he decided to smooth things over?
Perhaps that was the only explanation.
Since the other party had changed his attitude, Carson naturally wouldn’t press him any further; in any case, his goal was simply to collect the supplies smoothly.
Carson cupped his hands and said, "Looks like I misunderstood. My apologies, Manager Bernard, please don’t take offense."
Manager Bernard smiled and said, "Master Flores, you flatter me. I just didn’t make things clear just now and caused everyone to misunderstand. That was my fault, everyone, please don’t mind."
With things said to this point, the matter was naturally resolved.
Manager Bernard led the few richly dressed men into the room next door. In no time, they filed out and left the courtyard. Only, as they left, all of their gazes fell on Carson, their eyes subtly complex.
Manager Bernard didn’t show up again. The staff resumed distributing supplies in order.
Carson sat back down in his seat and waited quietly.
The people in line watched Carson, their eyes filled with gratitude. Especially those at the back of the line—the gratitude on their faces was even more obvious. After all, if those men had successfully cut in, the ones at the back might very well have gotten nothing today.
Yackey Decker and Carradine sat beside Carson, feeling the gratitude in the gazes around them, their hearts surging with excitement.
The Sect Master was just too impressive!
He’d already reached the point where people backed off the moment they saw him.
Very soon, Boyd collected the supplies and came out of the building, practically glowing with excitement.
"Sect Master, all done!"
Boyd finished speaking, then added in a low voice, "All top-grade quality."
Carson nodded calmly and stood up. "Let’s go."
Everyone left Second Distribution Point, but after only a few steps they were blocked—by those same richly dressed men who had tried to cut the line at Second Distribution Point earlier.
The few of them crossed their arms, just standing there blocking Carson and his group’s path, brazenly sizing Carson up.
Carradine barked, "You’re blocking the road—what do you think you’re doing?"
The man with the Roth surname in the lead ignored Carradine, grinning as he fixed his eyes on Carson. "This street doesn’t belong to you, does it? We’re just standing here. That’s not against the law, is it?"
The four men stood side by side in a loose row, their gazes provocative as they looked at Carson.
They occupied most of the street, but didn’t completely block the way—both sides were still passable.
Trying to put him in his place?
Carson paid no mind to this pointless provocation and smiled faintly. "Not against the law. No problem."
Carson turned his body and moved to go around them from the side.
Seeing that Carson was about to pass by on the side, the man standing at the edge chuckled, stepped sideways, and blocked Carson’s way.
Carson frowned and stepped to the right.
The man standing in the middle on the opposite side also stepped over again, blocking Carson’s path. Then, with a provocative expression, he jerked his chin toward the other side of the street. "You can go that way."
Carson didn’t move. He had already yielded once; he wouldn’t yield a second time.
He fixed his gaze on the Roth man in the center. "You’re a grown man and you’re playing childish games like this. Don’t you feel embarrassed?"
The Roth man’s expression changed slightly, and he said coldly, "And who exactly is the one embarrassing himself right now?"
Carson bared his teeth in a grin, stepped back, and said evenly, "Master Decker, Master Boyd, Hall Master Carradine—hear my order!"
Yackey Decker and the other two’s expressions shifted slightly as they stepped forward in unison. "Subordinates are here!"
Carson locked eyes with the Roth man, his voice calm. "Advance. Any who block the way—crush them. Life and death, irrelevant."
The moment Carson spoke, all four men opposite changed color.
This kid was really this bold?
He dared make a move here on the public street?
When Yackey Decker and the others heard Carson’s order, their faces also tightened, but they had no thought of retreating or trying to dissuade him.
They were a Sect, but the Sect was only the form of their existence. Their true identity was soldiers!
Elite soldiers who fought against the Demon Race!
Carson was the Sect Master, their leader; his orders were military orders!
When a military order is given, who dares disobey!
Moreover, in just two short days, Carson had gone head-to-head with First and Second Distribution Point one after another, securing supplies for the Sect, and had already established his prestige in their hearts. When the order came down, their instinct was to carry it out, not to question it.
The three of them spread out in a line, terrifying aura surging off their bodies as they strode toward the four men opposite.
With every step they took, the killing intent on them grew heavier. In that moment, it felt as if they weren’t walking on the streets of War God Mansion at all, but standing on a battlefield, launching a firm and unshakable charge against the Demon Race ahead.
