The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard
Chapter 2921: This Scene Looks Familiar, Again?
Yackey Decker chimed in, "Indeed, things are said to be unavailable and they’re just gone, with no prior notice. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly today, otherwise, it’ll be a hassle again."
Carson Flores smiled but said nothing.
As the Sect Master, when others can’t handle things, he has the responsibility to come out and take charge. If they succeed, Carson would prefer not to take the lead.
He doesn’t care at all if the Sect Master’s power is divided among others or not. What he needs is just an identity, rather than relying on these people for anything. After all, for the enemies he’s provoked, even if he needed help, it definitely wouldn’t be from them.
As for Deputy Sect Master Jarett Roth?
Carson hoped he would take on the specific duties of the Sect Master, so he could relax.
If everything required his consultation, wouldn’t that just be a headache?
While everyone was chatting and waiting, a group of men in luxurious clothing walked in at the entrance. They walked in with ease, chatting and laughing, exuding an air of indifference.
Carson squinted his eyes slightly, this scene seemed familiar.
As expected, after these men came in, they didn’t care about the people in line and went straight to the person in charge of distributing the resources at the front.
"Old Bernard, busy, are you?"
The Manager Bernard, in charge of the site, turned his head, and a smile immediately appeared on his face, "Young Master Roth, Young Master James, how come you’re both here together."
The leading man turned his head to look at the queue and smiled, "Didn’t I hand you the slip for collecting resources before? I figured it was about time, so I came over to collect it."
"Slip?"
Manager Bernard was momentarily stunned. Seeing the leading man’s smiling gaze, he suddenly seemed to snap back to his senses and patted his forehead, "Ah yes, I got so busy I forgot, really sorry about that..."
All the people in line saw this scene, and each one’s face changed color.
Forgot?
Who are you kidding?
These guys are obviously here to cut the line, and they didn’t even submit any slip beforehand—they just walked in and talked their way through.
The slip for collecting resources is probably still in your own pocket!
Once you let them through the door, the slip in hand becomes a pre-submitted one, who doesn’t understand this trick?
The most important thing is that the moment this door opened, we were already in this line, where are there others in line?
Do you take us for three-year-old kids, easy to fool?
Everyone was angry, but when they looked at each other, no one dared to step forward.
Manager Bernard is the manager of the 2nd Military Supplies Division. Although not the division head, not everyone can sit in this position. And those who make him address them as "Young Master Roth" and "Young Master James" couldn’t be ordinary people either.
Those with a quick mind already thought of many possibilities from these two surnames, thinking of people they wouldn’t dare provoke.
The principle of shooting the bird that sticks its head out from the flock is understood by everyone. In this setting, whoever steps forward is bound to be targeted.
Seeing Manager Bernard about to lead those people inside, Carson sighed. Why do these troublesome things always fall to him?
Carson glanced at the queue, seeing that there weren’t many people in front of Boyd. But if these few went in and took a large batch of resources, it was uncertain whether Boyd could still get any.
Maybe yes, maybe no.
Carson didn’t want to gamble.
Having come today, as long as it was according to the rules, he must take what the Majestic Sect was due.
As for offending people?
So be it, he offends a few along the way anyway, he’s used to it.
Since he’s already offended the Compton Family, he’s not afraid of offending a few more people.
Though these actions seem stubborn, Carson felt that doing so at least made him feel satisfied.
Wasn’t the situation the same in the previous place?
He was just annoyed!
Doing this, it felt liberating!
In fact, he could just privately approach the steward, reveal his identity as personally appointed by the Hall Master, and most likely get things arranged if the steward wasn’t being foolish. However, Carson didn’t want to do that.
If he did that himself, what would be the difference between him and Taliesin Compton?
It’s not that Carson’s character is stubborn; rather, everyone present is here to fight against the Demon Race. We could say they’re colleagues, partners, and usually, the ones queuing desperately for resources are truly those lacking them. In contrast, those who cut the line often have strong backgrounds and aren’t in such need of resources.
He couldn’t bring himself to press down on colleagues most in need of resources.
In this context, he was willing to follow the rules.
Those who didn’t follow the rules, made him very uncomfortable and very angry!
When he saw everyone furious but no one stepping out, he helplessly tossed away a blade of grass he held, and stood up.
"Wait a moment."
