The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard
Chapter 2909: The Status of a Hero Still Has Its Uses!
"Sect Master, what should we do next?"
Carson Flores had already made plans in his heart and smiled, "I’ll visit the Hall Master first."
"Understood!"
Carradine respectfully said, "The Sect Master is not familiar with this place, let me guide you."
Carson smiled politely, "Thank you for the trouble."
Carson decided to visit Norric first for a reason; once meeting Norric, he could gauge the other’s attitude toward him, which would help Carson decide his next moves and approach.
Despite being accompanied by a Quasi-Saint, this was the Crimson Immortal Domain, the front-line battlefield. There must be no shortage of Quasi-Saints here, and many influential figures were present. It’s obviously unrealistic to act without care just under Snow Zane’s backing. But with Norric covering him, he could truly act without fear.
Norric’s residence was called the War God Pavilion, serving as his private home on usual days and transforming into a command center during wartime.
"Halt!"
Just as Carson and Carradine arrived outside the War God Pavilion, they were stopped by a guard.
Carradine cupped his hands, "Majestic Sect Master Carson Flores and Enforcement Hall Master Carradine request an audience with the Hall Master."
The guard frowned, scrutinizing the two. "Was it at the Hall Master’s summons?"
Carradine shook his head, "No."
The guard asked again, "Is there urgent military information?"
Carradine’s expression was slightly awkward, "There isn’t."
The guard said coldly, "Since it’s not by the Hall Master’s summons and there’s no urgent military news, the Hall Master is busy with public affairs, not for anyone to see at will. If you insist on meeting, you can register your purpose in the front, then wait. If the Hall Master agrees to see you, you will be notified."
Carradine looked at Carson with difficulty, waiting for his decision.
The guard wasn’t trying to intentionally create difficulties but was following protocol. Otherwise, those wishing to visit Norric would form a long line, leaving no time to handle other matters.
Carson smiled, "I have met the Hall Master before. The Hall Master once taught me the Way of the Sword Talisman and told me to visit him at the War God Mansion once I arrived at the Crimson Immortal Domain. Here I am, as promised. I ask you to pass on the message."
The guard looked at Carson suspiciously, "Aren’t you the Majestic Sect Master?"
Carson explained, "I just arrived at the Crimson Immortal Domain, seeking my family at the Majestic Sect, only to find out I had been personally appointed as the Majestic Sect Master by the Hall Master. Today, I am here for both my past commitment and the appointment."
"Personally appointed?"
The guard suddenly seemed to recall something, widening his eyes, "Aren’t you the one who made merit by encountering the Demon Race at the Bitter Sea Immortal Domain?"
Carson nodded, "Yes."
The frost quickly vanished from the guard’s face, replaced by a warm smile. "So it’s you, Master Flores. Since it’s you, relaying the message is certainly not a problem. Unfortunately, you’re just in time; the Hall Master is out on business today and is not here!"
Carson was stunned for a moment, "When is the Hall Master expected to return?"
The guard shook his head, "We are merely the guards of the War God Pavilion, only responsible for its safety and are not informed of the Hall Master’s whereabouts. He has been gone for three days now, and I do not know where he went or when he will return."
Carson was somewhat disappointed, "I see. Sorry for bothering."
The guard asked, "Master Flores, where are you currently residing? At the reception station?"
Carson nodded, "Yes."
The guard eagerly offered, "How about you head back to wait for a bit? Once the Hall Master returns, I’ll report this to him immediately. If the Hall Master wishes to meet with you, someone will come to the reception station for you. If not, I’ll have someone inform you of the outcome."
Carson thanked him, "Alright, thank you."
The guard smiled, "You’re welcome, it’s what I should be doing."
Earlier, he wasn’t so eager. It seems the title "meritorious defender against the Demon Race" really made a difference.
Carson thanked him once again, then left with Carradine.
Far down the street, a disciple watched the scene from afar, sneering twice before quickly blending into the crowd.
"Sect Master, what should we do now?"
Carson smiled, "With the Hall Master away, we’ll wait."
After a brief pause, Carson asked, "With the Immortal Demon War about to begin, surely many Quasi-Saints have come to assist, right? Do you know where these Quasi-Saints from other Immortal Domains are residing?"
Though unsure why Carson asked, Carradine quickly replied, "They don’t reside in the city but live at White God Mountain."
Curious, Carson inquired, "White God Mountain, where is that?"
Carradine explained, "These people are tremendously powerful and prestigious, generally disliking the bustling city. Thus, the Hall Master had caves built three hundred li away at White God Mountain for these peace-loving powerhouses to reside."
"A distance of three hundred li isn’t far for these powerful beings. If something arises at the battlefront, they can arrive in an instant without missing an opportunity. But without conflict, residing at White God Mountain allows them to enjoy peace and solitude without disturbance..."
