Chapter 2894: War God Mansion’s Reward

  • Next Chapter

The Crimson Immortal Domain is the first battlefield between the Immortal Realm and the Demon Realm, carrying out militarized control over all cultivators, which seems quite normal on reflection.

But why does Norric Shepherd appoint me to be the Majestic Sect Master?

The high-ranking members of Majestic Sect appear quite powerful, possessing Great Land Prime Immortal strength, perhaps. Would they be convinced to let someone so young as a Supreme Immortal become Sect Master?

It’s possible that someone originally wanted to be this Sect Master, and now I’ve suddenly come in, will they be pleased?

Carson Flores was thinking a lot for a moment, then the middle-aged beautiful woman hesitated slightly before speaking: "To be honest, Sect Master, we are quite puzzled that War God Mansion appointed you as Sect Master. After all, as far as we know, you’re quite young and reportedly haven’t yet reached Great Land Prime Immortal strength, so we secretly inquired around."

The middle-aged woman was speaking about the issue, and Carson naturally wouldn’t get angry. After all, he himself felt the situation was quite ridiculous.

"Did you find out the reason?"

The middle-aged woman nodded and stared intently at Carson: "Sect Master, seven years ago, were you involved in a Demon Race invasion in Bitter Sea Immortal Domain?"

Carson was slightly surprised, then nodded: "Yes."

The middle-aged woman’s eyes lit up: "Sect Master, could you tell us what happened? We didn’t find detailed information—only heard that your appointment as Majestic Sect Master is related to this incident. You must have made a great contribution, hence receiving this position from War God Mansion as a reward..."

Great contribution?

Reward?

Carson finally understood how this inexplicable position as Sect Master came to be.

Since War God Mansion has already issued the appointment, and Carson has decided to join Norric Shepherd, he indeed needs an identity, so he might as well accept it calmly.

Carson didn’t hold back; he recounted his visit to True Sage Grand Void, his journey with Kaelithra Nixon, and the three encounters with the Demon Race.

Samantha Tate gazed at him with her usual look of admiration: "Carson, you’re amazing! You took out a Demon Clan Quasi-Saint?"

Carson smiled: "I didn’t kill it; I dare not claim that credit carelessly."

The members of Majestic Sect listened to Carson’s narration, showing varied expressions—some had a sense of enlightenment, some had skeptical looks, some were admiring, and others remained silent.

Looking at their expressions, Carson knew that although they openly showed respect, calling him Sect Master with all necessary etiquette, there were likely some who remained unconvinced in their hearts.

Carson didn’t rush to make a statement; his first step was to understand everything clearly, then plan to meet Norric Shepherd before deciding the future course of action.

If he must be Sect Master, later on he’ll reorganize the Sect accordingly.

Though Carson might not be as strong as these people, he has two Quasi-Saints and over a hundred Great Demons at his side, making it easy to keep these people in line; however, he didn’t rush to reveal this.

When others misestimate you, their true thoughts might reveal themselves more easily, whereas if you show enough strength, you might only see a bunch of hypocritical faces.

Carson nodded: "Alright, thank you for helping clarify things. For now, let’s not worry about the Sect Master issue. I’ll meet Norric Shepherd later, and then we’ll discuss what to do."

The middle-aged woman nodded: "Sect Master, I’m Hall Master Carradine of the Enforcement Hall. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."

Enforcement Hall Master?

If the entire Majestic Sect were a military unit, wouldn’t she be equivalent to a military judge?

She voluntarily reported and explained things to me, even demonstrating goodwill. It seems she acknowledges War God Mansion’s appointment; regardless of who I am or my capabilities, she is prepared to treat me as Sect Master?

Carson smiled: "Alright, Hall Master Carradine, thank you very much."

Hall Master Carradine introduced herself, and regardless of the expressions or the thoughts of the others, each person introduced themselves once—important figures included Deputy Sect Master Jarett Roth, Artifact Refining Hall Master Yackey Decker, Alchemy Hall Master Boyd, and Medical Hall Master Adryssa; the rest were their deputies.

Listening to their introductions, Carson secretly marveled—this configuration sure resembles a military unit.

The Sect Master oversees everything; below him, someone manages magical treasures, another manages elixirs, one cares for the wounded, and another oversees laws—all functioning seamlessly on the battlefield with enhanced combat effectiveness.

Carson paid particular attention to Deputy Sect Master Jarett Roth, who, as per the introduction, was the Deputy Sect Master before the previous Sect Master encountered an incident. Now, with the previous Sect Master gone, logically speaking, based on strength and experience, he should ascend to the Sect Master position. Yet now I’ve parachuted in, interrupting his promotion dream.

If I were an experienced and powerful veteran, he might be displeased but dare not disobey; however, as someone who seems merely lucky and not particularly strong, will he truly accept me?
