Chapter 2840: Distant Water Can’t Quench a Nearby Fire

"What do you intend to refine?"

"Hmm, it’s a Flying Sword, I suppose."

In the world he’s been exploring on Immortal Gathering Island, Carson Flores had gathered over a thousand Crystal Scorpion Tail Stingers but had yet to find a suitable opportunity to refine them. For one, he was constantly on the move. Secondly, the Crystal Scorpion Tail Stingers were incredibly tough with a very high melting point, beyond the capabilities of ordinary Artifact Refiners and their corresponding Refining Flames.

Now hearing about an Artifact Refining Master competition being held here, Carson’s interest was piqued.

Heading next to the Crimson Immortal Domain, one could never predict what might happen; being a bit more prepared never hurt.

On the following day, Carson and Kaelithra Nixon rose early, left the small building, and as soon as they set foot outside the mountain gate, a human figure swiftly streaked across the sky, chasing after them.

"Sister Nixon, wait a moment."

Upon hearing this voice, Kaelithra Nixon immediately rolled her eyes because the owner of the voice was Othric Whitmore.

It was undoubtedly Othric Whitmore who had given a special notice to someone to monitor her movements, and as soon as she left, they informed Othric, who then promptly caught up with them.

Carson raised an eyebrow, eyes filled with amusement.

One had to admit, observing such things while keeping oneself detached was uniquely entertaining.

Othric Whitmore landed in front of them, smiling, "Sister, where are you off to, leaving without a word?"

Kaelithra Nixon offered a polite smile, "Isn’t there an Artifact Refining contest at Profound White Valley? There’s some time before the birthday celebration, so we’re planning to check out the excitement."

Othric Whitmore chuckled, "Ah, an Artifact Refining contest. Our Mysterious Void Sect is the organizing host. Since you both are so interested, let me accompany you."

Kaelithra Nixon couldn’t refuse, since she had already politely declined once just yesterday, and then Othric Whitmore had remarked, ’My only duty is to accompany my junior sister,’ making further refusal tantamount to falling out.

"Then, we trouble you, Senior Brother."

Othric Whitmore laughed, "No need to be so formal, we’re not outsiders. Come on, let me lead the way."

The group of two turned into three, traveling for half a day until they reached Profound White Valley.

"The reason for holding the artifact refining contest at Profound White Valley is because there lies a natural Purple Fire vein beneath it, which can be used to refine artifacts with just a bit of guidance."

"The Purple Fire, while not considered the top-tier Refining Flame, is still of first-class quality, far superior to the Earth’s Core Fire used by most Artifact Refiners in the world."

"Our Mysterious Void Sect is hosting the Artifact Refining contest this time, offering generous prizes along with the promise that any winner reaching a certain rank can obtain a furnace of Purple Fire. Because of this, Artifact Refiners from all over flock here, creating this grand event; after all, what Artifact Refiner doesn’t dream of possessing an outstanding quality Refining Flame?"

Othric Whitmore proudly introduced to them the origins of the current Artifact Refining contest as he led them into Profound White Valley.

"Sister, if you have anything you want to refine, I can introduce you to a renowned Artifact Refining Master..."

Kaelithra Nixon instinctively glanced at Carson, who subtly shook his head.

Carson didn’t want Kaelithra Nixon to owe Othric Whitmore any favors due to his matters. Since there were so many Artifact Refining Masters, as long as he offered enough reward, surely someone would take the job.

Additionally, there was another reason. Carson had an excessive amount of Crystal Scorpion Tail Stingers; if crafting one stinger into a Flying Sword required a fair amount of time, then refining all over a thousand stingers would take considerably longer.

The Bitter Sea Immortal Domain was just a point in Carson’s journey; he couldn’t afford to wait here indefinitely.

Carson’s plan was to consult an Artifact Refining Master regarding how much time the refinement of these stingers would require. If it was very challenging or time-consuming, he planned to postpone until reaching the Crimson Immortal Domain.

If the time required was very short, Carson could afford to wait. After all, he would still need to help the Broken Heaven Pathist find his daughter, which would delay him further. Or, if the refining technique wasn’t too difficult, Carson would consider learning some Artifact Refining himself.

Carson wasn’t seeking very high standards for refining over a thousand stingers, as long as the quality was passable. After all, his Primeval Myriad Sword Art wasn’t reliant on any single Flying Sword being formidable; it depended on wielding thousands upon thousands of Flying Swords.

Kaelithra Nixon smiled, "We’re just wandering around for fun; my Sixth Brother is excellent at refining artifacts, many of our good items were crafted by him."

Othric Whitmore, looking like he’d forgotten this, chuckled, "Oh right, I forgot, True Sage Grand Void is a renowned Master Refiner, and even his disciples include Artifact Refining Masters, why would you need to look for someone else outside?"

Master Refiner?

Is True Sage Grand Void really that impressive?

It’s a pity True Sage Grand Void isn’t at Grand Void Mountain, nor is the Artifact Refining Master Brother Reid mentioned by Kaelithra Nixon. Otherwise, it would have been possible to consult them.

Distant water can’t quench immediate thirst!
