The Extra who regained his past life memories
Chapter 178 - birthday present
We all went to Amy’s room.
I activated my Perception to its maximum and began taking completely silent steps as I slowly approached her room.
Luna and Elena watched me with amusement.
"You look exactly like an assassin going after their prey."
"No."
"Even more careful than one."
I glared at Luna.
"What do you know?"
"Amy is a formidable opponent."
"We have to be careful."
Both of them chuckled.
I immediately looked at them and signaled for them to keep quiet.
Finally, we reached Amy’s room.
I used my Perception to check whether she had prepared a trap for us.
After confirming there was nothing waiting for us, I created a Space Barrier around the door, separating the sound from the outside.
Then I slowly opened the door.
Luna and Elena looked at me with amazement.
I quietly entered the room and grabbed the ice bucket.
A massive grin appeared on my face.
What could be more worthwhile than doing this?
I kept my Perception active the entire time.
I quickly sensed Amy’s exact location.
She wasn’t in bed.
So she made a trap for me too.
I immediately switched the ice water bucket for a bag of flour.
Then I stopped Luna and Elena from following me and moved forward alone, ready to teleport away at any moment.
I pretended to approach Amy’s bed.
The moment I sensed the slightest movement—
Now!
I teleported directly toward Amy.
But plans don’t always work.
Amy had expected that too.
The moment I appeared beside her, she threw her own bag of flour at me.
Before entering her range, I canceled the Space Barrier around my body.
It was only fair.
Though I regretted it a little.
The entire bag of flour hit me.
But I wasn’t going down alone.
I immediately threw my own bag of flour at Amy.
If I was going down, she was coming with me.
Amy clearly didn’t expect that.
The entire bag of flour landed on her as well.
We both stared at each other.
For a moment, neither of us said anything.
We were both completely covered in flour.
Then we simultaneously burst out laughing.
"Ah, not fair!"
"You got me this time!"
Amy grinned.
"What did you expect, little brother?"
"Did you really think the same trick would work on me two years in a row?"
"But I have to admit..."
"I didn’t even hear you open the door."
"If I hadn’t been keeping watch over it, you would have gotten me."
I stomped my foot on the ground.
"Not fair!"
Amy raised an eyebrow.
"Oh?"
"Not fair?"
"Correct me if I’m wrong..."
"Were you planning to throw that ice bucket at me?"
I immediately looked away.
"What ice bucket?"
"You must be seeing things."
Luna and Elena stared at the comical scene with wide eyes.
They couldn’t stop laughing.
Amy and I looked like two ghosts covered in flour.
I ignored them and suddenly said,
"Ah, I almost forgot."
"Happy birthday, glutton."
Amy’s eye twitched.
"What did you say, you brat?"
I looked at her with innocent eyes.
"Happy birthday."
She stared at me.
"After that."
I tilted my head.
"A glutton?"
"Isn’t that true?"
A fist immediately came toward me.
I had already predicted it, so I dodged.
Then I ran toward Luna and stayed a few steps behind her.
Amy glared at me.
"Try saying that one more time, brat."
Luna smiled and said,
"Happy birthday, Sister Amy."
Amy’s expression immediately softened.
"Hmm."
"See, you stinky brat?"
"This is how someone wishes you a happy birthday."
I simply waved my hand.
"What’s so great about birthdays?"
"You just got one year older."
Amy glared at me.
"Shut your mouth, you brat."
Elena then stepped forward and wished Amy a happy birthday as well.
Amy nodded.
Then she looked toward me.
"So, where’s my gift?"
I simply shrugged.
"What gift?"
"Isn’t attending your birthday party the best gift we could ever give you?"
Amy’s eye twitched.
She glared at me.
I immediately raised my hands.
"Okay, okay."
"I’m just kidding."
"We’ll give you your birthday present at the party."
Then I waved at her.
"Okay, then."
"See you."
"I’m sleepy."
I looked toward Luna.
"Good night, Luna."
Luna blinked before nodding.
"Good night, Gray."
I greeted Elena as well and quickly slipped out of the room.
Luna and Elena simply stared after me, surprised by how quickly the situation had ended.
Then they heard Amy’s voice.
"Huh..."
"That brat is always like that."
"Let’s go to sleep."
"Tomorrow is important."
Elena and Luna nodded, both amused and slightly confused.
After saying good night to Amy, they left for their rooms as well.
I finally entered my room.
I took a shower until all the flour was gone.
Then I went to sleep.
I slept like a log until morning.
As soon as I woke up, I took another shower and put on the outfit Amy and the others had chosen for today.
I stood in front of the mirror, fixed my hair, and made sure everything looked presentable.
Then I stepped out of my room and went to Luna’s room.
I knocked.
I heard her voice from inside.
"Come in."
I opened the door.
"Yo, Luna."
"What’s up?"
"Are you ready—"
I stopped mid-sentence.
Luna was wearing an elegant dress.
It was a combination of pure white and ice blue.
She looked at me, and her eyes lit up as well.
"Hmm, yeah."
"I’m ready."
"Does this necklace suit me?"
I looked at the necklace.
An aqua-blue gem was embedded in the center.
It was simple and beautiful.
I nodded.
"Yeah."
"It suits you."
I cleared my throat before asking,
"How about we go?"
"The birthday party is going to start soon."
"And we can eat lots of things today."
Luna smiled at that.
Then she nodded.
"Okay."
"Let’s go."
She came beside me, and we walked toward the place where Amy’s birthday was being held.
It was a large room that we normally used for banquets.
The entire room was decorated with birthday decorations.
In the middle of the room was a beautiful, massive cake.
As for my cake...
I wasn’t a professional, so I decided to give it to her after the birthday party as another present.
As soon as Luna and I entered, everyone’s eyes moved toward us.
I kept a calm expression and walked inside with Luna.
Amy and the others were already there.
I took out the ring box.
I had already wrapped it in beautiful wrapping paper and made it presentable.
Luna and I walked toward Amy.
We both handed her the gift by saying.
"Happy birthday"
"Here."
"This is from both of us."
"We made it together."
"We hope you like it."
I smiled as I handed it to her.
Amy looked at the box and nodded with a happy smile.
Then she suddenly hugged both me and Luna.
"Hmm."
"Let’s see what you prepared for me."
She began unwrapping the gift.
Luna and I watched her expectantly, hoping she would like it.
Mom and Grandma were also there, watching us.
Elena stood to the side with a smile as she watched Amy.
Amy finally finished unwrapping the gift.
Inside was the elegant box.
She looked at it curiously.
"Is this some kind of jewelry?"
Luna and I looked at each other before nodding together.
"Yeah."
"You could say that."
Amy’s eyes flickered.
"You do know that I really don’t care about jewelry, right, Gray?"
"So if it doesn’t satisfy me, I’ll tell you directly."
I smiled and nodded.
From the side, Elena suddenly spoke.
"If you don’t want it, give it to me."
"I already saw it."
Amy immediately protected the box and glared at Elena.
"No chance."
"Even if I don’t like it, I’ll still keep it."
"My brother and Luna made it for me."
"I don’t care what it is."
"I only care about the thought behind it."
Elena’s expression fell jokingly.
"But you sa—"
Amy cut her off.
"Yes."
"If it doesn’t satisfy me, I’ll say it directly."
"I know my brother isn’t the type to get offended by something like that."
"Actually, he probably likes it that way so he can improve next time."
I nodded.
"That’s true."
"I like when people tell me things directly to my face."
"But there are some exceptions."
Amy nodded.
Then she opened the box.
Inside, a beautiful silver ring was lying in the center.
It was polished to such a degree that it could shine under the light.
Amy’s eyes lit up slightly.
She carefully took the ring out.
Then she held it up and inspected it.
"So this is the gift you prepared for me?"
I nodded.
"Yeah."
"I hope you like it."
She examined it for another moment.
"Not bad, but—"
I immediately stopped her.
"Hey."
"Before you give your evaluation, check all the functions first."
Amy blinked.
"What do you mean?"
"It’s not a normal ring."
"Luna and I created this artifact for you."
"It’s the secret experiment we were working on."
Amy blinked again.
"Really?"
"I thought you two were just learning how to create artifacts and somehow managed to make this ring look beautiful."
My eye twitched.
"What do you mean?"
"We didn’t spend several hours decorating it after completing the actual product."
Amy laughed.
"Alright, alright."
"So, do tell me, little brother."
"What does it do?"
