The Extra who regained his past life memories
Chapter 153 - new type of aura
Then I returned to Luna’s side and said,
"See? It works."
She looked at me with complicated eyes.
"Hey, let’s do this together instead of fighting alone."
I looked at her and immediately understood.
"I’m sorry. I was already halfway through, and I’d already used most of my abilities. It would’ve been a waste of mana to stop, so I just went through with the attack."
Luna looked at me as I tried to explain myself, and an involuntary smile appeared on her face.
"Oh, it’s fine. There are still lots of trolls. Let’s go."
I nodded.
"Use your Ice element to freeze their wounds so they can’t regenerate. I saw Mom do it before."
Her eyes lit up.
"That’s right! Why didn’t I think of that?"
After all, she loved her Ice element the most, even more than her Space element.
Then I clutched Eclipse with both hands and concentrated deeply, focusing my Perception to the maximum.
I infused my Aura with Ice.
A thin Aura appeared around my sword, glowing with a shining ice-blue and white light. The blade became surrounded by a chilling cold.
It was beautiful.
Luna, who was ready to go and cut down all the trolls, suddenly stopped and looked at my sword.
Her eyes widened and brightened like two incredibly brilliant blue gems.
She stared at my blade.
"What did you do? It’s so beautiful! But it doesn’t match your sword. It matches my sword more!"
She pouted.
I looked at her adorable pouty expression and almost lost my concentration.
I’m trying this for the first time, and I actually got it right.
I had a lot of experience combining my elements, so this was somewhat similar to that.
I said to her,
"Didn’t you remember? Your mom told us that we can turn our Aura into our elements and influence them together."
She looked at me, and her eyes lit up.
"Oh, yeah! That’s right. I almost forgot because I just awakened my Aura."
At that moment, a troll came toward Luna to attack.
I immediately used my Perception and tried to locate its core, but there wasn’t enough time.
So I cut through its arm with a clean slash using my Ice-infused Aura.
With the strike, its arm froze and fell off.
The troll screamed.
I looked at Luna and saw that she was still deeply lost in thought about the new information.
I guessed she was thinking about what combination would suit her best, how much Aura and elemental energy she should combine, and things like that.
I simply sighed.
She’s hopeless as ever.
A small smile played on my face.
Then I looked at the troll that was trying to attack her, and my expression turned cold.
I combined Darkness and Space, forming a claw-like hand around my own hand. It glowed with an ominous dark energy.
I clenched my fist tightly, augmented my body with mana, and used Void Step to gain momentum.
Then I punched the troll as hard as I could.
With all those abilities and my physical strength enhanced by mana, the troll went flying.
Even though its body was massive compared to mine, it was sent flying through the air.
A layer of Abyss spread across its skin like rot, devouring its life force and everything within it.
I watched it die little by little.
I didn’t pay much more attention to it. I canceled all my augmentations and returned to Luna’s side, watching her until she came out of her trance-like state.
As for the other trolls, some were hit by the flying troll, and the Abyss spread from it to them, devouring their life force as well.
I activated my Perception and kept watch around Luna, waiting until she had sorted everything out inside her head.
A moment later, she suddenly said,
"I got it!"
She looked at me.
I only gave her a wry smile.
"Good for you."
With a flick of my finger, I lightly tapped her forehead.
"Don’t daze off on the battlefield. You’ll get yourself killed."
She rubbed her forehead and puffed out her cheeks.
"Isn’t that why you’re here? To prevent that?"
I blinked several times before laughing.
"Why? Am I your personal bodyguard or something?"
She looked at me like I was an idiot.
"Isn’t that the fiancé’s job?"
My eye twitched, but I didn’t say anything.
Instead, I asked,
"So, what did you learn from all that deep thinking?"
Her eyes lit up.
"I figured out a way to do the same thing as you!"
She took out her icy-blue sword, closed her eyes, and concentrated on her Aura and element.
Then she unleashed her icy Aura.
Unlike mine, her sword was a perfect match for its color.
It glowed with an icy-blue Aura, with tiny snowflakes flickering around it.
It was breathtaking.
She opened her eyes, which shone brightly, and said,
"See? I told you this matches me more. Humph!"
"Look at yours and mine."
I smiled.
"Hey, this isn’t a beauty competition. This is about raw power."
But she didn’t give up.
"But power is a beautiful thing, so I win."
I laughed.
"So, what exactly did you win, Luna?"
She didn’t know either.
Then I pointed toward the trolls.
"Go and try your beautiful new power."
I laughed.
She looked at the trolls and nodded.
"I will. You just watch."
Then she sprinted toward them, her sword covered in sparkling icy Aura.
She reached the last two trolls and attacked one of them.
She cut it with a clean slash, and Ice spread through the wound, freezing it and stopping its regeneration.
I couldn’t just stand there and do nothing, so I went to attack the other one.
I attacked it and drew its attention while searching for its core with my Perception.
I finally found it.
I infused normal Aura into my sword, slashed directly at the core, and killed it in one blow.
At this point, the trolls were practically training dummies for me.
I had become much stronger after awakening my Aura.
Then I looked at Luna.
She had turned the troll into her own training dummy, repeatedly cutting and testing her new Ice-infused Aura to see whether it could stop the troll from regenerating.
I looked at her and gulped as I watched her dismantle the troll with a smile on her face.
I knew she was excited about her new ability.
But even so...
I need to be careful not to make her angry in the future.
Then I watched her kill the troll and come back to my side.
I looked at her and gave her a bottle of cold water.
She took it and started drinking.
Amy and the others had finished their side as well.
I looked in their direction and saw water covering the floor.
I smiled.
Amy must have told Elara to use her Water element and connect all the trolls together.
Then she used her Lightning element on the water, shocking all the trolls at once and destroying their cores.
That’s a good way to kill them.
We showed them our Ice-infused Aura.
"See, Amy? I managed to create Ice Aura on my first try."
Her eyes twitched.
"Ah, my monstrous little brother. How do you do it so quickly? I had to spend quite some time figuring it out."
"It’s really hard to achieve."
I looked at her strangely.
"What are you talking about? It’s easy. Even Luna did it."
Luna nodded and showed her Ice Aura as well.
Elena and Amy watched it and nodded.
"It suits you perfectly."
Luna nodded with her head held high.
"Yeah, I thought the same. But Gray is the stubborn one who won’t admit it."
I looked at her dumbfounded.
"Hey! Don’t slander me. I think it suits you perfectly as well."
Luna looked at me and asked,
"Then why didn’t you admit it? You were talking about how power isn’t about beauty or something like that."
I just looked at her.
"Fine, fine. You win. Power is good normally, but it’s also beautiful. That’s better."
She nodded with a smug expression.
Amy and Elena laughed at that.
"Oh, little brother, you’re beginning to listen to Luna now, hmm?"
"In the past, you never backed down from an argument. If you did, I’d have to beat you up a little."
Amy laughed.
I gave her an annoyed look.
"Ah, so how much longer do you think the others can hold out now?"
Amy thought about it before saying,
"Hmm, from what I’ve observed, they should last until the end of the next round or maybe one more round after that."
"It’s not that they’re weak. We simply don’t have enough mana reserves and stamina to continuously fight."
I scratched my head and asked,
"Oh, really?"
Amy’s eyes twitched.
"What do you mean, ’oh, really’? Don’t you feel tired at all?"
I smiled wryly.
"Ah, about that... Eclipse has an ability to absorb blood and recover me. It’s also recovering my stamina, so I’m completely fine."
Amy simply sighed.
"Oh, I really forgot about that. Your cheating ability..."
