Chapter 462: The Battle of Bluewater City(3)
Chapter 462: The Battle of Bluewater City(3)
Frenita appeared several times, moving with astonishing speed, yet she always focused on cutting down the minor soldiers. Phield immediately understood the limitation of her ability.
"She looks terrifying, but she still lacks what it takes to take an enemy’s head in the middle of a massive army, so there’s no need to worry." Phield remained calm. "She’s buying her own army time to form ranks."
Looking into the distance, Phield watched as the army of drowned corpses led by the octopus monster gradually completed its formation.
He abandoned any thought of recalling Ashina. He had already come up with a strategy and decided to keep his opponent occupied. If Rosalia managed to frighten them into retreating, Frenita would simply return to deal with Ashina, which would make things even more troublesome.
Rosalia hurled out a mass of chains, attempting to seal off Frenita’s movements.
"Don’t rush. It won’t be long before I wipe all of you out."
Frenita had no intention of confronting Rosalia head on. Her figure darted left and right, slaughtering groups of heavily armored corpses one after another. The sturdy armor was nothing more than paper in front of her, easily sliced apart with every swing.
Blood sprayed everywhere. Frenita single handedly plunged the rear of the Nightfall Domain army into complete chaos, leaving a river of blood in her wake.
"If you have the guts, then stop running!"
Rosalia lunged again and missed, her expression filled with fury.
"Hmph. Is this really all the skill your lord has when it comes to commanding an army? You’ve certainly left me disappointed." Frenita shot her a contemptuous look. "I’ve driven you into hiding all by myself, yet you’re too useless to even fight back. You’re not even worth crushing beneath my feet."
"Kill as much as you like. Cut down as many as you want. They’re just cannon fodder anyway."
Phield spread his hands and sneered. "Little Fatty Dragon, our guest hasn’t had enough yet. Give her some more."
If these had been human soldiers being slaughtered in such numbers, Phield would probably have been furious. But corpses were everywhere. They could simply capture more after they died.
Frenita, on the other hand, was wasting her strength slaughtering worthless cannon fodder.
"No problem, you pathetic lord. She’s an idiot who knows nothing about war." Ophelia had recovered by now and laughed disdainfully. The orb in her hand radiated layers of shimmering light. "Answer my call, warriors!"
In the next instant, the divine mark of the Goddess flashed through the eyes of more than a hundred wild corpses nearby. Without hesitation, they joined the Nightfall Domain army.
As long as the commanding Corrupted Divine Chosen or the Corrupted Lord remained alive, the number of corpses in the army was effectively limitless.
The corpses formed two loose rows and stood before Phield, using their bodies to shield him.
"Please, go ahead." Phield smiled.
"You treacherous traitor."
Even Frenita, who had always been elegant and composed, could not suppress her anger now. She glared viciously at Ophelia before darting forward to attack.
"I’m going to tear your skin off."
This was supposed to be their greatest advantage, yet that despicable human had actually turned it against them.
"Who’s scared of you, you filthy bitch?"
Ophelia showed no fear whatsoever. She hooked an arm around Phield’s neck and swayed around smugly, nearly driving Frenita mad with rage.
"Rosalia, stop attacking. Focus on protecting everyone."
Phield looked toward Ashina’s position once more, a sinister smile curling across his lips. Then he turned to Firomina.
"Keep an eye on Ashina’s position. Get ready to finish her off."
By this point, Ashina had been retreating while fighting, deliberately luring the reckless female beastman toward the very edge of the battlefield. There were no reinforcements of corpses from the enemy side here. Thanks to Ashina’s superb control of the battlefield, the enemy’s other Divine Chosen was also quite far away.
"This place will do. No one can interfere."
Ashina stopped and no longer retreated. Instead, she turned her wolf head around, her crimson eyes calmly glancing at the bone club charging toward her.
Sensing a faint trace of killing intent, Bone Club once again activated another divine skill that strengthened her body.
"Tier Three Divine Skill, Hardened Muscles!"
As a Corrupted Beastman, Bone Club’s muscles bulged like mountains, while her grayish white skin was as hard as granite. Every step she took shook the ground like an earthquake. With Hardened Muscles activated, her entire body was as tough as forged iron.
"Demi human, you weak little morsel! I’m going to chew every one of your bones to pieces!"
She let out a frenzied roar, leaped high into the air, clasped both hands together, and brought them down like a hammer, crashing toward Ashina like a falling meteor.
"I hope you have strong enough teeth."
Feeling the bone chilling force of the wind, Ashina did not even need to move. Drakewolf nimbly leaped to the right, and Bone Club’s crushing strike slammed directly into a moss covered boulder.
In an instant, mud and dust exploded into the air, and the solid rock shattered into powder. Feeling the fragments spray across her body, Bone Club became even more excited. She loved the sensation of destroying everything without restraint.
She had already been the strongest female beastman in her tribe when she was alive. After gaining the power of corruption, her strength and vitality had undergone another tremendous transformation. Even better, becoming a Divine Chosen had further enhanced her vitality.
With her overwhelming defense and life force, she could rampage through the battlefield without restraint, barely ever suffering serious injuries.
"Clang! Clang! Clang!"
Ashina thrust her spear more than a dozen times in an instant, striking Bone Club in the eyes, throat, and other vital areas. Yet even the formidable divine weapon spear could only leave varying shades of pale marks behind.
Drakewolf bared its grinder like teeth, its jaws stretching open to their limits as it viciously sank its fangs into Bone Club’s leg. Instead of flesh tearing, however, the bite produced the sound of metal striking metal.
"It doesn’t hurt at all! Hahaha! My defense and vitality have both been doubled. Your attacks can’t even scratch me!"
Bone Club roared with laughter, her dreadlocks flying wildly as she launched a barrage of punches.
"I’ll storm into your city and eat every last child, just like I did when I was alive! Despair!"
"You’re so noisy. Are you done yet?" Ashina continuously dodged her iron fists. "I was only thinking about how to maximize the spoils of war."
"Hahaha! Bullshit! Why aren’t you fighting back? Is it because you have no way to hurt me?"
Bone Club was delighted with herself. She leaped high into the air once more, carrying tremendous force with her, raised both hands above her head, and brought them crashing down.
"Hmph. Your entire body is full of openings." Ashina smiled coldly, her crimson eyes devoid of emotion. "I was merely testing your weaknesses. Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll send you to your death right now."
As soon as she finished speaking, divine power surged through Ashina. A blizzard erupted around her, rapidly spreading outward. Everything touched by the storm became incredibly fragile. Even the surrounding boulders began to crumble on their own without any external force.
"Tier Three Divine Skill, Armor Piercing Frost!"
Terrifying spear light erupted from the weapon in her hands, transforming it into the ultimate weapon of destruction.
A dazzling streak of spear light shot forward like a brilliant comet. Bone Club’s divine power barrier was torn apart in an instant.
With a crisp sound like cracking ice, Ashina’s spear pierced straight through Bone Club’s throat.
She withdrew the spear and thrust again without losing momentum. The savage weapon punched into Bone Club’s right temple, then both eyes, before cleaving down across her face and striking her chest, abdomen, and left leg.
"Pfft!"
Bone Club’s eyes instantly lost their focus. Her bones shattered and her blood vessels burst as she collapsed to her knees. Her entire rib cage had been torn open, exposing her grayish white corrupted heart. The iron body that had seemed indestructible moments ago could no longer even move a finger.
"Whew. My arm’s getting sore."
Ashina shook her hand casually and stepped aside.
Firomina seized the opportunity and unleashed "Primordial Extinction." The attack crossed most of the battlefield and struck directly into Bone Club’s exposed chest.
