The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 615 - 613: The Fearsome Hilia
The light of the Purification Skill, accompanied by the Mage’s Hand, blossomed and slowly immersed into the bodies of all the patients.
As time progressed, the patients Hilia faced became more severe.
The people lying on the stretchers in front of her were all tightly bound.
Many had fallen unconscious, but a few were still aware.
They were twisting their bodies, trying to break free from the ropes.
Their eyes were bloodshot, wildly gazing at everything around them, like zombies wanting to bite.
Their condition was even more severe than that of the cultists who had wandered for three years.
Fortunately, the contamination had not been in their bodies for long. After purification, they wouldn’t be as close to death as the cultists, nor as short-lived.
If the cultists were like smokers who had smoked for thirty years, these people were akin to nonsmokers who accidentally inhaled sixty cigarettes in one breath.
Although the latter’s condition seemed severe at first glance, with proper treatment, their lungs wouldn’t become entirely black like a thirty-year smoker’s.
However, for Hilia, she preferred to purify those cultists who had been exposed to contamination for a long time.
Because those cultists were beyond saving, she could directly and violently extract the contamination from their bodies, making them convulse on the spot.
But these people still had hope and couldn’t be treated in the same manner.
Rose watched from the side, also observing Hilia to see if she would make any mistakes.
Tiny beads of sweat had already appeared on the girl’s forehead.
But the treatment and purification proceeded in an orderly fashion.
The redness in the eyes of the bloodshot patients gradually faded.
Some who had been unconscious slowly opened their eyes, bewilderedly looking around, not knowing what had happened.
Some had already understood something, looking excitedly at Hilia above in the sky not far away.
Outside the square, many people with milder symptoms were watching.
They too bathed in the brilliance of the Purification Skill.
Though they were not directly purified, the effect was minimal but still made them feel like they were basking in spring breeze, temporarily suppressing chaotic thoughts and enjoying a moment of peace.
"As expected of Hilia!"
"I felt peace, as if the Gods were calling me."
"Such a comforting Purification Skill, much more soothing than those of the Holy Priests."
"If only Hilia were an elf."
"No, it’s best that Hilia isn’t an elf, because if she were, she wouldn’t do such a thing."
"Indeed, who would have thought, a truly kind-hearted person has appeared in the Holy Court."
"From today on, I will forever be loyal to Hilia! My soul is molded in her shape!"
"Long live Lady Hilia!"
"Hey, hey, hey, calling her ’Lady’ is a bit excessive. What if the Elf Royal Family sets their sights on her?"
"She’s not an elf, what’s wrong with calling her ’Lady’?"
"Right, long live Lady Hilia!"
"Long live Lady Hilia!"
"..."
The shouts were as fierce as before.
Accompanying them were strands of pure power of belief.
Rose grabbed the power of belief, checked it, and raised an eyebrow.
"Some of the power of belief has actually taken the shape of believers, not bad."
Hilia paid no attention to the cheering crowd.
To prevent her from being affected, Rose had already weakened her hearing, so external noise wouldn’t disturb her.
Apart from the shouting crowd, the Holy Priests were also seriously feeling the moment.
But the more they felt, the more shock appeared on their faces.
To the uninitiated, they only knew Hilia could purify thousands, but didn’t understand the difficulty involved.
Only these Holy Priests, who could purify contamination within the human body, understood how terrifying Hilia’s actions truly were!
"Every strand of the Purification Skill’s power accurately entered the patients’ bodies..."
"Heavens, how is this even possible?"
"Lady Hilia’s magic control capability, just how advanced is it?"
"Is this the legendary micro-level spell mastery?"
"Wrong, even micro-level mastery can’t achieve this; it’s practically divine-level control."
"Originally, I wanted to learn a bit, but now it seems impossible, alas."
"As expected of the future Holy Daughter of the Holy Court, this Purification Skill is something we’ll never master."
"Could she become the strongest Holy Daughter in the history of the Holy Court?"
"She should be the Holy Master of the Holy Court, not just the Holy Daughter of the Sacrificial Institute."
"..."
Countless Holy Priests sighed and then silently took out wristbands or other recording devices like Memory Crystals to quietly document Hilia’s purification scene.
Though the images captured by the Memory Crystal didn’t show magic power fluctuations or the flow inside, only the physical expression of elements, they could memorize the magic flow and elemental waves in their minds, later reviewing it with the Memory Crystal’s projection.
Although they might not learn much, even absorbing one percent could significantly influence their future careers.
The Holy Priests invited by Mornis all had their own skills.
Many were quite arrogant, but here, that arrogance was shattered before it could manifest, leaving only admiration and awe for Hilia.
The treatment continued for nearly an hour, with the first round of treatments slowly coming to an end.
The patients here had been pre-screened by Mornis for severe illness. During the purification treatment, Hilia needed to cautiously disperse the contamination, ensuring the separation from their flesh wouldn’t cause damage.
Handling a single person or ten wouldn’t faze Hilia, but when the count reached a thousand, the difficulty escalated tremendously.
Feeling the mental link from Rose, Hilia wiped the sweat from her forehead, gratefully glancing at Rose.
"Thank you, Lord Rose. Without your help, I might not have completed it smoothly."
Rose chuckled softly, "Don’t push yourself too hard."
Hilia nodded emphatically, "I won’t anymore."
Rose remained unconvinced, not believing Hilia’s words.
If such a situation arises again, she’d likely do it again, though with more caution at least.
During treatment, due to the sheer volume of operations, Hilia began to show signs of distraction and negligence in the latter half. Without Rose’s intervention, accidents could have occurred.
Although in curing illness, incidents leading to patient deaths are not uncommon, and neither Mornis nor the patients’ families would say much, Hilia still wanted to avoid preventable mishaps.
"This time you probably felt your own limits, next time, don’t be so reckless."
Rose said calmly.
Hilia nodded seriously, "I understand, I’ll reduce the number of people being treated simultaneously to below this count in the future."
Treating over a thousand people wasn’t done all at once but in batches.
After dispersing the contamination, they were nurtured with the glory of the Purification Skill.
After Hilia left the square, cheers erupted once again as before.
She was already accustomed to it.
Until, upon reaching the back, the City Lord suddenly informed her of some unexpected news.
"Lady Hilia, I just received news that in the Mountain Forest City to the east, a Holy Priest who can also purify many patients at once has appeared."
"Oh?"
Hilia immediately looked towards Rose.
