The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 613 - 611: Those Damn Outsiders Are Begging Again in Watch City
The contamination in the Star Spirit Forbidden Land is generally a normal phenomenon.
This is because thousands of years ago, when the Gods took authority from the Star Spirit Tree, it would cause the Star Spirit Tree to release an equivalent amount of contamination power, which would only be directly funneled into the Abyss once it was fully formed.
Since then, the residual contamination around the Star Spirit Tree has not been much, only the area near the funneling entrance would have dense contamination.
Now, with contamination persisting over hundreds of kilometers, Rose, who was previously unclear, can basically attribute it to the Divine King.
It has already been confirmed that the Golden Apple Stone Forest is the Divine King’s doing, combined with Ethel’s statement and his past actions of opening the Abyss Gate, it can be directly inferred that on the Starfall Continent, any larger contamination area is the Divine King’s doing.
The Star Spirit Tree is a major producer of contamination; the Divine King could not possibly leave it unchecked.
"First, deal with the contamination underground in the Elf Forest, then talk about other places. It’s best not to disturb this contamination if possible."
Now is not the time to face the Divine King.
Upon learning from Ethel that everything the Divine King did was possibly aimed at killing him, Rose has become much more cautious, delaying the Divine King’s discovery as much as possible.
But the Divine Format of the God of Life and Death is still necessary.
This is crucial to whether the Sealing Array can be broken ahead of time; even if the array cannot be broken, it allows him to exert influence on the Starfall Continent via the ’Descender,’ only then gaining confidence to deal with the Divine King.
"But the best situation is to understand what the Divine King really wants to do with the contamination. Surely, it’s not just to merge Divine Power and contamination?"
Rose shook her head, deciding not to think further on it.
Lacking key clues, it’s beyond imagination.
Only by obtaining the Divine Format of the God of Life and Death, and locating the opponent through it, asking face to face, can more information be known.
"Thinking of it this way, Ethel really is a waste." Rose sighed briefly.
On Benovia’s end, after deploying the array to block the contamination, Benovia led a team deep into the contamination, right in front of the contamination waves.
"This contamination has become very active."
One of the teammates said.
She couldn’t help but release the Purification Skill, dispersing the surrounding contamination, preventing it from approaching them.
If she didn’t do this, they would feel somewhat uncomfortable.
Benovia looked at the enormous trunk of the Star Spirit Tree in the distance and said, "We are already very close to the Star Spirit Tree, so the contamination is naturally dense. Ordinary fourth-tiers may not withstand it, fortunately, we arrived in time."
Benovia looked at the surging waves of contamination, manipulated a magic puppet, and raised her Magic Staff, life elements blossoming, separating the contamination that had reached here after which the life element barrier became fragile.
"The separated contamination is somewhat different from the contamination in the Star Spirit Forbidden Land; purify it if we can," Benovia said.
Speaking, she felt a move in her heart, looking in a certain direction, "I sense there are demons spying on us, be cautious, the demons here are all strong."
"Roar!"
A demon sprang from the ground, creating trouble for them.
Rose watched, Spiritual Power swept through everything around, ensuring no danger could interfere with Benovia’s work, then turned his attention back to Hilia’s side.
At this moment, Hilia had already arrived outside Watch City.
Early on, when Hilia departed from Forest Language City, Watch City had received the news, eagerly awaiting.
Watch City is a seaside city, located on the west side of the Starfall Continent, having already distanced itself from the Elf Forest region, here there are many oddly-shaped high mountains, and many towering trees.
However, compared to inside the Elf Forest, the trees here are much fewer, apart from those evidently nurtured large trees, other trees are very sparse, and some places are even barren sandy lands.
A very peculiar environmental structure.
Elina said, "Watch City is the Elf Race’s outlet to the sea, commerce with other empires starts from this port, mainly trading with the Beastman Empire, Northern Alliance, and Blue Dragon Empire."
Hilia casually asked, "Why does it look rather desolate here?"
Candia enthusiastically explained, "Because all life elements are in the Elf Forest, the concentration of life elements outside isn’t enough, so it’s desolate."
Hilia realized, "Oh, the Elf Forest drained all the life force from surrounding areas, making other places desolate."
Candia frowned, feeling that Hilia’s words carried some subtext, making her slightly uncomfortable.
But she quickly suppressed this discomfort, smiling, "Although the concentration of life elements is lower, Watch City and surrounding areas are the most prosperous cities in the entire Elf Race, apart from the Elf Royal City."
Hilia curiously asked, "Are there many Mixed-blood Elves here?"
Candia stiffened, "A significant proportion."
Elina chuckled, "Indeed, Watch City mostly consists of elves and mixed-bloods with other races. It’s a base for Mixed-blood Elves, but the elves here are different from other Mixed-blood Elves."
"How are they different?"
"They also discriminate against Mixed-blood Elves from other places and don’t like the Elf Royal City, thinking the Royal City only thrives by sucking their blood."
Candia frowned, "Elina!"
Elina pouted, "Isn’t it true?"
Candia: "..."
Hilia asked eagerly, "What about the Elf Royal City? How do they respond once they know this?"
"What else can their response be? The elves in the Royal City naturally look down on elves from elsewhere, but it’s better than Watch City, which at least doesn’t directly scold outsiders as beggars asking for handouts."
Hilia pondered, "I can understand that the Elf Royal City is turning into a tourist city. Their income relies heavily on visitors, mostly outsiders, with few Mixed-blood Elves striving there."
Elina deeply agreed, "Exactly, Mixed-blood Elves won’t go to the Royal City to embarrass themselves, while Watch City is mostly Mixed-blood Elves. It’s the western side of the Elf Race, and beyond is just the sea, nothing else. The foreign elves and the local elves are mostly mixed breeds without any hierarchy, finding superiority from other aspects."
"It’s quite interesting; I never thought this phenomenon was so severe within the Elf Race."
"Haha, I also think so, the Elf Race is just a bunch of arrogant fools..."
Beside them, Candia listened with a dark face to their conversation.
The two of them, though one was clearly an elf, a pure-blood elf, were here scolding elves to outsiders, from Mixed-blood to pure-blood, from Dark Elf to Elf progeny, they dissed everything.
If someone didn’t know, they would think she wanted to gain residency proof from other empires through scolding the Elf Race or something.
When Hilia spoke, she also appeared peculiar.
This Elina, truly is a thorough elf hater.
How did she receive the Elf God’s blessing at all?
