The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 611 - 609: Everything Unspoken
Outside the village, Elina stood at the forefront of the crowd, accompanied by Candia, and the lord of this large village, small town.
Along with many people who came to welcome them.
Hilia descended from the sky, stopped in front of the crowd, and when she saw Candia protecting Elina, she held back the sarcastic words, nodded at Elina.
She was not the elf ’Xi’ now, but the Holy Court Saintess Hilia.
The Holy Court Saintess should be a ’stranger’ to her and naturally would not know Candia, the elf elder seriously discriminating against mixed-blood elves.
Of course, Candia didn’t seem to discriminate against humans as much, and after receiving Hilia’s gaze, she met it amicably, nodded back, and smiled.
Hilia secretly pouted.
If she didn’t know Candia’s other side, she would think Candia was a very nice person.
The girl complained in her heart to Rose, "This elf elder, could she be a lover of outsiders? I thought her arrogance extended to humans and beastmen along with mixed-blood elves."
Rose smiled gently, "Maybe it’s because of what you’ve done that she’s being friendly to you."
"Oh, that could be it."
Elina came forward with a joyful smile, "Hi... Lia, I have long been fascinated by what you’ve done, and now I finally have the chance to meet you."
She nearly said the lone ’Xi’ out of habit, but luckily realized she was supposed to ’not recognize’ Hilia.
Hilia smiled and extended her hand, "Hello, blessed by the Elf God, the lucky one of the Elf Race, Elina, I’ve heard about you. It’s a pleasure to meet you."
The two extended hands and shook, with smiles, everything unsaid.
Elina gestured, "Please follow me, we’ve prepared a place for you to rest and a sumptuous lunch."
It was noon at this time, just right for lunch.
"Well then, I’ll accept your hospitality, thank you for the invitation."
After lunch, Hilia noticed Elina seemed to have something to say but hesitated. However, Hilia just smiled and said, "Miss Elina, Lord, please notify everyone, I need to start the purification soon and continue on to Watch City."
"Alright."
The lord stood up and quickly prepared.
They had, in fact, made preparations before Hilia arrived.
Before Elina even had a chance to have a private conversation, Hilia had already stepped out to the gathering place of many elves and tourists to begin the purification work.
In this village-level small town, there weren’t many people, and with the preparations made in advance, it only took Hilia two hours to finish the purification of all the patients.
Afterwards, Hilia gave Elina a smiling glance, "Since the purification is done, I won’t linger. There are more people in need of my help."
The lord tried to persuade, "Why not stay for a dinner before you leave, Miss Hilia? There’s no need to be in such a hurry."
Hilia shook her head, "No, it’s urgent. Every minute I stay means more suffering for everyone. No time should be wasted; I need to get going as soon as possible."
"Miss Hilia truly lives up to the title of Saintess, such kindness is admirable," lamented the lord.
Once Hilia said this, he dared not detain her any longer, lest word spread and bring him trouble.
Elina still looked eager to speak yet hesitant to disturb Hilia.
Hilia said nothing more, merely leaving the village with the lord and others bidding her farewell, ready to depart.
At last, Elina couldn’t hold back.
She spoke up, "Hilia, I wonder if I could join you on your journey to Watch City?"
Hilia feigned curiosity, "You want to go to Watch City?"
Elina nodded, relieved, "I have some business there, and it’s just on your way. Why don’t we travel together? Would you mind me joining?"
Hilia shook her head, "Of course, I wouldn’t mind, but others might, like..."
Hilia looked towards Candia beside Elina.
It was just the two of them, with no one else in tow.
Elina also turned to look at Candia.
Candia said, "I certainly don’t mind. I’m honored to travel with someone as kind as Hilia. Besides, as the Saintess of the Holy Court, Miss Hilia is blessed by the Gods, is she not?"
Hilia paused slightly, secretly surprised.
Could it be that she was only friendly to those blessed by the Gods?
Hilia didn’t answer the question, merely nodded, "Since the elf elder doesn’t mind, I naturally wouldn’t mind having a powerful Tier Six Mage for protection."
Elina furrowed her brow, "Elder Candia, why don’t you leave first, head to Watch City ahead of us? This trip, I can escort Hilia myself."
Candia glanced at her, speaking calmly, "Protecting you is a direct order from the Elf King, I can’t leave you. Otherwise, the Elf King would hold me accountable."
"Tsk." Elina gave Candia a displeased look, then turned to Hilia with a smile, "Nevermind her. So, shall we set off?"
"Alright, let’s go."
...
Elf Royal City, Holy Tree.
The Elf King frowned, listening to the report.
"What exactly does Elina want?"
Reportedly, "Miss Elina said that since we couldn’t find Miss Xi’s whereabouts, and since others who could purify the pollution haven’t learned the Purification Skill yet, she wanted to contact Hilia herself, to find Hilia and cooperate in purifying the source of the pollution."
The Elf King shook his head, "I’m afraid that’s not her true intention."
Beside him, an elder who was a personal guard of the Elf King said, "Elina might know Hilia."
The Elf King nodded, "It’s possible, she seemed somewhat restless. Perhaps, during adventures in Ista, she got acquainted with Hilia. However, we also don’t know for sure; Hilia’s whereabouts are highly classified by the Holy Court."
The elf elder said, "King, it’s time for the meeting."
"Hmm, let’s go. This time, we should also consult everyone’s opinions to see what they say about Elina’s situation."
With all that’s happened in the Elf Race, they hold minor meetings every two days and major ones every three, leaving the Elf King quite stressed.
These meetings and disaster response measures have significantly increased his workload, leaving him no time to handle Elina’s affairs.
His primary focus now is solving pollution, solving pollution, and solving pollution.
Only by resolving the pollution can all problems be addressed.
The arrogance of the Elf Race was crushed by this sudden disaster.
If it weren’t for their long-standing isolationist thoughts, many people might have already urged the Elf Royal Court to seek assistance from Ista.
"Sigh, I hope things get better soon."
The Elf King sighed, entering the conference room.
