The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 606 - 604: Assassination
"No need to see me off any further, Mr. Ocam, this is far enough."
Hilia had completed the purification mission in Mandela Town and was preparing to leave.
A farewell team of thousands, led personally by Ocam, had come to the outskirts of Mandela Town to reluctantly bid farewell to Hilia.
"Take care on your journey, Hilia."
"Thank you, Hilia. Be happy and blessed!"
"Don’t go, Hilia. How will we live without you..."
"..."
The cries and farewells from behind brought a slight smile to Hilia’s lips.
She enjoyed this feeling very much.
Though their enthusiasm was almost overwhelming.
After flying for a long time, the sounds from behind gradually faded away.
She opened her bracelet, looked at the map, and said, "Master Rose, are we heading to Dracula Town next?"
Rose’s phantom appeared beside Hilia, nodding, "Yes, do as I instructed. The area you purify should align with the pattern of a rune."
Curious, Hilia asked, "Why do it this way?"
Rose explained, "It’s a special method to suppress pollution. By dispersing and isolating along a specific path and using the Divine Power I left behind, you can quickly cause the pollution to backflow, returning to its source once activated."
"Is that even possible?"
Hilia blinked her eyes.
She didn’t understand Rose’s Divine Power at all.
But by following a specific path for healing, she could use Divine Power to resolve the pollution. It all seemed miraculous to her.
Rose smiled slightly, saying nothing more.
In actuality, what Rose shared with Hilia had another benefit beyond just resolving the pollution. It could temporarily mask the chaotic disturbances caused by the pollution, making it unlikely for the Divine King to locate Hilia or discover Rose through her.
Rose gazed toward the location of the God of Life and Death’s Divine Format with a profound expression.
This Divine Format wasn’t as easily obtainable as Ethel’s.
He needed to carefully strategize.
Hilia was still too weak, so even if the Divine King was alerted, he wouldn’t pinpoint Rose’s existence or track Hilia’s movements.
As for whether the Divine King might deduce something from Hilia’s movements, Rose had made comprehensive preparations.
Of course, this was just a precaution. It was unlikely that the Divine King’s attention would focus on a small city.
Moreover, Hilia’s purification route was completely unrelated to Rose’s plans.
While she purified pollution, Rose’s goal was to ’release’ pollution to seize fragments of the God of Life and Death’s Divine Format.
"However, aside from the Divine Format fragments, there might be unexpected gains."
Rose’s eyes shimmered.
Before long, Hilia arrived at the next town.
This time, she chose not to conceal her true appearance as she entered the town.
Her arrival was quickly spotted by the town guards, who hastily reported to the City Lord.
Soon, Hilia was welcomed into the City Lord’s Mansion.
The City Lord of Dracula Town had already heard of Hilia’s deeds in Mandela Town from Ocam and knew she planned to purify other cities.
It seemed her route included their town, Dracula Town.
Thus, the City Lord had been eagerly awaiting her arrival.
Once Hilia arrived, he adopted a very humble posture.
Because the situation in Dracula Town was worse than in Mandela Town.
This mission proceeded more smoothly than the one in Mandela Town.
After quickly agreeing on a purification plan with Hilia, the City Lord swiftly spread the word throughout Dracula Town.
Soon, a large group of patients gathered for purification.
Countless people looked at Hilia with excitement, akin to gazing upon the Gods.
Rose’s phantom appeared beside Hilia, capturing strands of faith power emerging from the crowd.
Gradually, a small golden orb of pure faith power formed in his hand.
With a flick of his finger, Rose tossed the faith power into Hilia’s Spiritual Space, transmitting it to the Sealed Land of the Endless Abyss through their spiritual connection.
At the Endless Abyss, Rose tossed the faith power orb, condensed like jelly beans, into Ethel’s body.
"To supplement you for your hard work."
Feeling the pure faith power, Ethel paused and looked over. "Didn’t you scorn faith power? Where did you get this? Did you steal it from Zeus?"
"Is Zeus’ faith power this pure?" Rose scoffed.
Squinting, Ethel luxuriated in the long-lost cleansing effect of the pure faith power, barely suppressing a pleased hum.
Moments later, he fully absorbed the faith power, regaining his indifferent demeanor and continuing his work.
Last time, Rose had thrown him some faith power, but it had been just a tiny amount.
If the last time was a grain of rice, this time it was a dumpling; barely a taste before, now somewhat satisfying.
Rose strolled over and patted Ethel’s shoulder, "Keep up the good work; the Abyss won’t treat you unfairly."
Ethel’s lips twitched, resisting the urge to whack Rose with a rock, feigning ignorance, shaking Rose’s hand off, and continuing with his task.
Rose paid no mind and continued to focus on Hilia, shielding her from the influx of faith power.
"The ascent to Divine Format using faith power combined with authority is ultimately the system of the Divine King; it must not be absorbed recklessly."
Rose shook his head slightly.
Though with Hilia’s current strength, even if faith power gathered within her, most would eventually dissipate, but a small portion nourishing her body could pose a risk.
Without knowing exactly what the Divine King was planning, Rose needed to prevent any potential disturbances or issues.
The mission in the second city was very successful.
And on the second day after completion, Hilia finished her purification work, took a brief rest, and amidst many reluctant farewells, left Dracula Town for the next city.
The next city lay south of the Elf Forest, built right within the forest, yet it was farther from the pollution source than Mandela Town.
Even at such a distance, the pollution concentration was lower, but due to the blessing of the Elf Forest’s vitality, the city’s problems were more severe.
Furthermore, the city was larger, making the issues seem more critical.
"I might have to stay in this city for three to four days."
Taking a deep breath, Hilia closed her eyes while on the road, meditating to gradually restore her Magic Power.
Half of the journey to the next city remained.
But suddenly, Hilia felt a strong sense of danger in her mind.
Her danger sense took effect.
Simultaneously, another passive ability, Water’s Retrograde Dispersal, also quickly activated, forming a dispersal shock to block a dagger that had suddenly appeared from the air.
"An assassination?"
Hilia’s eyes narrowed, immediately pulling out her Magic Staff and raising her hand to unleash an Ice Blade Impact!
