Chapter 80: Chapter 80: The Emperor Likes Han Ziyan

But when Gu Pei took a closer look, he was very surprised. He didn’t see a hint of sadness on Feng Qing’s face; on the contrary, she was quite amused by everything in front of her.

Gu Pei thought for a moment and understood why Feng Qing would act this way. She probably doesn’t love her little uncle, so she doesn’t care.

Gu Pei turned to look at his own little uncle and couldn’t help but chuckle. There really are people in this world who don’t love their little uncles. Interesting. I wonder if little uncle knows about this.

Rong Ling left Cining Palace with Feng Qing and Gu Pei, while inside Cining Palace, the Empress Dowager ordered the Imperial Physician to treat Han Ziyan.

Empress Feng Yao felt unspeakable joy seeing Han Ziyan like this. Ha, no matter how beautiful or noble one is, they still end up a concubine. Just the thought of it is delightful.

Although Empress Feng Yao was delighted to see Han Ziyan suffer, she was displeased not seeing Feng Qing suffer. If asked who Feng Yao hates the most right now, it’s none other than Feng Qing. If it weren’t for her refusal to acknowledge the wedding swap, her mother wouldn’t have ended up a lowly concubine.

Intense hatred flashed in Feng Yao’s eyes. Feng Qing, you escaped today, but I won’t let this go.

Outside the hall, Rong Ling and Gu Pei soon parted ways. Gu Pei had come to the palace today because Rong Che summoned him. Earlier on his way, he bumped into Rong Ling, so they both went to Cining Palace to greet the Empress Dowager. They didn’t expect to witness such a scene.

As Gu Pei was leaving, his eyes instinctively drifted toward Feng Qing.

Feng Qing nodded slightly at Gu Pei, as a greeting.

Gu Pei looked at Feng Qing and then at Rong Ling. For a moment, he felt they were quite a match, except for the spider on Feng Qing’s face.

But this little aunt of his clearly doesn’t love his little uncle. Little uncle, you’d better not fall for her, or you’ll be in for a lot of trouble.

Gu Pei turned and left, while Rong Ling escorted Feng Qing toward the inner palace gate.

On the way, Feng Qing thanked Rong Ling, "Thank you, Prince, for arriving in time. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how to deal with the Empress Dowager."

If Rong Ling hadn’t appeared, the Empress Dowager would have surely made things difficult for her.

Rong Ling turned back, his deep gaze resting on Feng Qing for a moment before he spoke impulsively.

"You don’t have to mind that woman. She’s just a concubine and can’t surpass you."

After speaking, he felt something was off, turned, and walked briskly toward the inner palace gate. Behind him, Feng Qing followed, her feelings mixed.

Was this Prince Regent explaining things to her? But what does it have to do with her? She’s not the real Regent Queen, and although she can’t leave now, she surely will in the future.

Feng Qing’s lifelong wish is to travel far and wide to heal the sick and save lives. If fortunate, she’d like to find someone who truly understands her and stay together until old age.

If not, she’d spend her life wandering the world, tending to the sick. That life wouldn’t be too bad. As far as the Regent Prince Mansion and these matters with the Prince and the Empress Dowager are concerned, they have nothing to do with her.

Feeling light-hearted, Feng Qing followed Rong Ling onto the Regent Prince Mansion’s carriage, leaving the palace and returning to the mansion.

Inside the carriage, Rong Ling leaned lightly against the wall, eyes closed, resting. Though his eyes were closed, he spoke softly to Feng Qing.

"The little Emperor, Rong Che, likes Han Ziyan. The reason I brought Han Ziyan into the mansion is to see whether Rong Che would take action against me."

Feng Qing looked at him, suddenly understanding. He was provoking Rong Che, testing whether he’d make a move against him in such a situation. Though she understood the reason, upon hearing his words, Feng Qing suddenly felt sorry for him. With all his heart, he cared for his family, yet his family only saw him as a nuisance, plotting tirelessly for his demise.
