Chapter 297: Chapter 254: Restarting the Future 4

While he was curious what the man wanted him to do tomorrow, Han Su decided he’d find out the next time he came back.

He didn’t return to the cellar. Instead, he went straight into the elevator and descended to the old room. He picked up his suitcase, went upstairs, and walked directly to the main door.

He quietly recited the Spell. Then, reaching out with his left hand, he slowly pressed it against the heavy, mysterious door. He didn’t even have to open his suitcase; he used his own Spiritual Power to connect with the book inside, triggering a Spiritual Power resonance.

In a daze, it was as if streams of text flowed from his palm, spreading across the imposing, tightly sealed door and awakening the patterns on its surface.

The next moment, with a RUMBLE, the door opened a crack.

But perhaps because Han Su’s Spiritual Power was insufficient, or his connection with the Emperor’s Book wasn’t strong enough, it only opened a narrow slit.

For Han Su’s current build, however, it was enough. He angled his body and slipped out through the opening.

Facing the harsh sunlight outside, Han Su felt as if a lifetime had passed. Although he had escaped the Ancient Castle countless times before, this was the only time he had actually walked out from inside it.

At that moment, Han Su could still feel the resonance triggered by the Emperor’s Book. Looking around, he saw that everything was undergoing subtle changes.

The hole on the second floor of the Ancient Castle, previously boarded up, was open again. Even the sealed-off rosebush now revealed the opening he had once crawled through.

‘This is…’

Han Su was suddenly overcome with excitement. ‘The Emperor’s Book… it can counteract the Mysterious Power that’s been stopping me from escaping?’

He suppressed his excitement and was about to rush towards the rosebush, but just as he took a step, he suddenly heard a voice from behind him. It sounded extremely agitated, yet somewhat weak:

“Mmph, mmmph…”

…

“Hm?”

Han Su thought he had made too much noise. ‘Have the monsters from the meeting upstairs already come down?’

He hurriedly turned his head, only to be genuinely shocked by what he saw.

On the outer wall of the Ancient Castle, at the third-floor level, a small figure was dangling from mechanical handcuffs. His entire body was wrapped up like a mummy, and to prevent him from spewing curses, it seemed, he even had a mechanical gag in his mouth.

“You…”

Han Su truly hadn’t expected to run into the hot-tempered kid here.

‘What happened to him?’

‘Did they hang him here because he raised such a ruckus all last night? The monsters have their meeting, so they were probably afraid he’d cause trouble.’

In the past, the main door of the Ancient Castle had always been sealed shut, so Han Su had never made it outside. He’d had no idea the kid would be hung outside at this time. When they teamed up before, the kid must have been too embarrassed, as he never once mentioned it.

‘So now…’

Glancing at the nearby rosebush, then at the hot-tempered kid dangling outside the third-floor window, Han Su made a decision in half a second. He silently invoked ‘Ladder of the Abyssal.’ His figure flickered as he scaled the wall, arriving beside the hot-tempered kid.

Then, copper-colored blood seeped out of the suitcase, forming a thin blade. With a SWISH, it sliced through the handcuffs, and they both fell together.

But the use of this Mysterious Power immediately unleashed crisscrossing currents of bizarre Mysterious Power within the Ancient Castle.

In an instant, countless eerie gazes turned towards them from within the gloomy Ancient Castle.

‘The monsters have been alerted…’

Han Su held the black suitcase in one hand and hoisted the kid—whose feet were still bound—onto his shoulder with the other. Without a second thought, he used every ounce of his strength and scrambled for the hole in the rosebush.

On his shoulder, the hot-tempered kid’s eyes went wide. He thrashed about, shouting with muffled excitement:

“Mmph, mmmph… ARGH…”
