The Eldritch Files
Chapter 263 243: Crimson Knowledge (Part 2)
"I believe my sister is one of them."
"But after all these years, I've only managed to roughly pinpoint the locations of three altars. I can't get in, and I can't determine which altar my sister is in. Only Abyssal Studio would have that list."
"Third..."
He paused, then said, "Revenge!"
"I'm certain that at least three high-ranking individuals in Qinggang know the truth about the kidnapping, and even cooperated with the Abyssal Laboratory's work."
"They must all be brought to justice and die in the public eye."
...
Han Su looked into Song Chushi's deep eyes and felt a shared resonance of hatred. He nodded slowly and said, "I approve of your goals."
"Furthermore, I will do everything in my power to rescue your sister. So, please, help me achieve my objective as much as you can."
...
Song Chushi was slightly taken aback. "Your objective... what is it?"
"To get the detailed files on the so-called Seven Days of Divine Descent plan. When that woman arrives in Qinggang, I will detain her, or..."
Han Su paused briefly, then said, "kill her."
Hearing Han Su's calm reply, Song Chushi couldn't help but be startled. "Intel suggests... she's your mother."
"Yes."
Han Su nodded. "Is there a problem?"
Song Chushi fell silent.
...
Han Su had to make his objective clear to Song Chushi because they were after different things.
Song Chushi would naturally prioritize the list of Heirs and the addresses of those secret coordinates. In his mind, that was the only way to save his sister.
But Han Su had another way to save his sister, which was why understanding the so-called Seven Days of Divine Descent and even finding the true reason for the plan's failure was more important to him.
'This time, I have to get the detailed files from that tall, thin woman.'
Han Su was certain of it now. The Flashing had fragmented his life, preventing him from seeing the full picture of these events.
The same went for Abyssal Studio.
'Actually, before all this, back when my life was first hijacked by the Flashing and I knew nothing about what was happening behind the scenes, I didn't deliberately hide anything. You could even say I left behind a great many clues.'
'But because the Flashing caused my life to become so fragmented, sometimes processing a single event would span two or even several timelines, making it impossible for anyone to investigate.'
'Of course, a more important reason was that Miss Ai was covering for me, protecting my information. She did a very good job of it.'
'This time, if Miss Ai were here, I doubt that tall, thin woman would dare to show up, right?'
...
As they spoke, the two of them moved quickly, both using the Abyssal Ladder from the Zero Sequence to travel. In a very short time, they had arrived in the heart of Qinggang's Central City.
Here, the lights on the streets and inside the shops had all turned a suffocating, blood-red color.
Countless passersby were gathered, finding the bizarre lights novel. They took pictures or eagerly tried to explain the science behind it to others.
No one seemed afraid; they just assumed it was an anomaly caused by the power grid or some other factor.
Han Su, however, felt a jolt of alarm upon seeing the intense red glow. He could only imagine how fierce the terrifying conflict must be to directly affect the real world.
Still, the Four Heavenly Kings had their principles. None of them wanted to involve civilians, so they had confined the battle to the Mirror World. Otherwise, these few streets would have long since become a battlefield for a mystical confrontation.
"That monster is..."
Realizing a mystical conflict was taking place, Han Su immediately found a mirror and peered into it.
His expression immediately turned to one of horror. He saw several non-humanoid things locked in a vicious battle. One, in particular, was the fiercest, overpowering the other three.
A strange look flashed across Song Chushi's face. "That's Zhang Chiguo."
"?"
Han Su was completely baffled. 'This fighting style is nothing like the Uncle Zhang I know...'
'At least, I never imagined Zhang Chiguo would bite someone's ear...'
He wasn't surprised that Zhang Chiguo was fighting the others, though.
Given Zhang Chiguo's personality, it was inevitable that he would have a falling out with them. The motivation for it, however, could only come from within himself; no one else could persuade him.
Song Chushi saw the surprise in Han Su's eyes and also found it a bit strange. He was especially puzzled after hearing Han Su state his objective just now.
He had actually been observing this young man for a long time and had even tried to converse with that mechanical... thing. The more he watched him, the stranger he seemed. Sometimes, he appeared completely ignorant and oblivious to many things.
Yet at other times, he would display a resolve that Song Chushi couldn't comprehend but instinctively revered.
Only one thing was certain: this young man was definitely not his sister's enemy. When he spoke of rescuing people, his determination was absolute.
Although, Song Chushi didn't understand what methods someone at his level could possibly have to rescue a person from the mysterious and terrifying Twelfth Altar.
"They're fighting in the Queen's Mirror World, which is the second line of defense for reality. I just escaped from that Mirror World myself. You can think of it as a buffer zone between the real world and the Mysterious World."
Taking a deep breath, Song Chushi spoke quickly, "But while escaping is easy, getting in without alerting its master is very difficult. Wait for me—"
As he spoke, he raised a hand to help, only to see that Han Su, having confirmed the battle within, immediately stepped into the reflection in the glass:
