The dragon's harem
Chapter 2276: Calling Death
As Eris forced her purple sun to collapse, she could feel the horrifying stress on her body multiplying by several folds. If not for Sena holding her body together from the inside, she would’ve already been crushed by her own power. But it didn’t end at that; as Sena did more than just hold Eris’s body together: She reinforced it.
While the process itself was both painful and complicated, it allowed Eris to exert herself far beyond her own limits. It was as if Sena was performing enchantment surgeries on her in real time to fix weaknesses and repair damage.
If Eris’s magic circuits couldn’t handle the load, Sena would surgically remove and replace them with stronger ones. If her form didn’t fit, she’d modify it, and if her mind failed, she’d flood it with hormones and biological enchantments to make it work better.
Eris handled this process far too well, and even Sena got scared by her lack of care when it came to pain or adaptability. In fact, Sena found it hard to keep up with and modify Eris’s body, as Eris always asked for more.
To create a Gravastar, Eris needed both gravity and energy, and enough precision at such a titanic scale that it seemed impossible. But with Sena’s help, it seemed doable, even if only for a fraction of a second.
The star was already created, so Eris needed to crush the core and then collapse everything else with gravity, and then form the gravastar’s shell, and all of that while making sure Vorvadoss stays trapped inside.
But Vorvadoss wasn’t going to sit still and get captured, so he quickly changed his target from Luminous back to Eris, and that was a small mistake, as Luminous took that chance and grabbed him by the tail. "Got you!"
The clash was just starting inside the closed four-way elemental expansion, but outside it, the situation was just as chaotic.
Amaterasu and Yog floated outside their tent, looking as two Avatars of Nyar surrounded them, making sure they couldn’t just rush down and stop Vorvadoss.
"You’re really going all out today, aren’t you?" Amaterasu spoke, and one of the two Avatars gave her a gentle bow. "I really do apologize for attacking at such a bad time." He threw a glance at Yog. "You two were busy, right?"
"Damn right! You bastard! Couldn’t you have delayed your attack by a minute or two?" Yog growled back at him, and he laughed. "Well, I’m not going to peep or bother you. You two can just go back into the tent and keep having fun. I’m only here to make sure you two don’t go down and help them."
Down below, three more avatars had shown up as well. One was keeping Kayden busy, one was playing with Baal, and the other was leading the abominable army to keep the god’s army busy.
Down in Yog’s lab... Merlin hid. The lab itself was a massive tent made of steel and strange fabric, and inside it, angels worked to analyze abominations and conduct a lot of tests. Knowing that she was the only one who could move, Merlin decided to stay hidden and try to contact Kali.
First, she couldn’t use great magic as Nyar would notice her presence immediately, and she was also certain he was keeping a close eye on communications, so she couldn’t even send a regular message out.
She can’t call Arad, she can’t contact Kali directly, and the only one she could contact as a wizard was Yog, and she was also stuck here. She had to think, and do it fast.
The only possible way to contact someone inside the universe is prayer, direct divine communication... she can try to reach Kali... but won’t that trigger something in Nyar’s surveillance? How can she contact her indirectly?
Nyar knew that Kali was the goddess of demons, destruction, and orphans, so using any of those could trigger his alarm.
Then, something clicked inside her head. "Wait... Kali’s orphan form, that little girl. Why does she have pink hair and eyes? Those are the signature traits of... a succubus. Hold on, that form isn’t human? Is it? If that’s the case, can’t I contact her as a succubus demon goddess or something?"
Merlin immediately tried that, but instead of Kali replying, someone else emerged from the shadows, and her mere presence made all of the angels around either pass out or freeze.
Merlin fell to the ground, terrified and shivering. She didn’t summon Kali, but called the attention of something horrifying. She was a maid wearing a black-and-white Victorian maid dress, with radiant purple eyes, skin as pale as ash, and an aura of death and shadows that felt too oppressive to endure. Her face was half-masked with a skull mask, and that was a mercy to the angels, who didn’t need to see her full face.
Death herself had emerged from the shadows, having come in response to Merlin’s call, and in her hands, she carried her scythe ready to reap.
Death herself and the Mother of all life were two faces of the same coin, two existences that supported each other, and neither of them can exist without the other. Every coin that has one side must have a second one, and so when Merlin called for a succubus goddess, the Mother of all life got the call, and Death herself, the one most suited for fighting, was the one to answer.
"I’ll handle this." She flew out, and Merlin gasped for air. "Shit!" She had forgot that the Mother of All life was a Succubus Goddess as well... so most likely she was the one to receive Merlin’s call, and she had sent Death herself here.
As Death herself flew out, her shadow grew large enough to engulf the entire battlefield, and from it, the army of death burst out like a swarm of hungry piranhas, savagely tearing all abominations in their path.
"Azrael... go assist Baal." As Death flew up, Azrael, the archangel serving under her, immediately flew toward Baal at blinding speed. Baal looked back and saw her coming toward him like a dark flood, and he immediately got out of the way and let her smack the Avatar he was facing head-first.
"You!" Baal growled as the Avatar got blasted back, and the archangel smiled as she looked back at Baal with a grin on her face. "Say, your master Arad, can I suck a little bit of power from him? I promise that I won’t take much."
"You’re an angel of death?" Baal looked at her for a second and immediately shifted his attention back to the Avatar. "Fine, anything to get rid of this bastard, but don’t get greedy."
She immediately linked to Arad’s soul through Baal and burst out laughing, "YES! YES! YES! It’s him, it’s there!" Her hair grew darker, her eyes burned with darkness, and her entire existence started to shift.
"THE END!"
She has twelve wings at first, but the moment she started pulling power from Arad’s soul, she started growing more and more black wings, and the Avatar knew that he had to stop her before she fully powers up, as she wasn’t just drawing power, but authority as well.
"How annoying!" The Avatar growled as he sent a titanic wave of tentacles at Azrael, only for Baal to jump in, deflect a few of the attacks, and tank the rest directly.
As Baal’s body hit the ground and his blood splashed back, it hit the Azrael’s emerging massive scythe.
As the attacks ended, from the darkness, Azrael emerged carrying a scythe even bigger than that of Death herself, and wearing a black robe and hood over her head, with a skull mask.
