The Devil Who Claimed Me
Chapter 194: Dominic’s ultimate power
The next morning, Dominic arrived at the office.
He was no longer wearing the thick glasses that had disguised his face for so long. His long hair had been trimmed short, and the thick beard that had covered his jawline was gone.
The man who had walked into the Bellini Empire as Roman had disappeared. The disguise was over.
Dominic Russo was back.
No one suspected a thing.
As he entered the building, several employees lined up to welcome him.
Dominic walked through the lobby with confidence, several men in black suits following closely behind him.
"Mr. Russo." A middle-aged woman stepped forward and bowed slightly. "I’m Emily, your secretary. I’ll take you to your office."
"Thank you."
Emily led him through the building and stopped in front of a large set of double doors.
"This is your office, sir."
She opened the door and stepped aside.
Dominic walked in. For a moment, he simply stood there. He had been in this office countless times before.
Back then, he had entered as Luke Bellini’s secretary, keeping his head lowered and his identity hidden while quietly observing everything around him. Now, everything had changed.
He looked around the spacious office.
Nothing had changed.
The massive desk still stood in the center of the room. The shelves were filled with the same expensive decorations. Even the leather chair behind the desk looked exactly as it had before.
Dominic stared at it. He could almost picture Luke sitting there, giving orders.
Now that chair belonged to Dominic. He walked over and sat down.
A faint smile touched his lips.
How different it felt to sit there as the man in control.
Emily approached and placed a file on the desk. "These are the final documents. Once you sign them, the takeover will officially be complete."
Dominic opened the file. He carefully went through the documents before signing his name wherever necessary.
Emily took the file back. "Congratulations, sir. The company name has officially been changed from Bellini Group to Russo Holdings. You are now the chairman."
Dominic leaned back in his chair. A proud smile appeared on his face.
He already owned several companies under Nexon Group, but he had never been interested in personally running a business.
For years, he had deliberately stayed away from the corporate world. His priority had been becoming the mafia king, strengthening his power, and protecting his gang and the people who depended on him.
But things were different now. His goals had changed. He wanted everything. He didn’t have to fight on the streets anymore.
Money, businesses, influence, and power—he could command them all without ever drawing a weapon. He could control the battlefield from behind a desk.
"Sir, the board meeting will begin in an hour," Emily reminded him.
Dominic nodded. "I’ll be there on time."
Emily’s gaze fell to his bandaged hand. "Sir, do you need me to contact a doctor? I really think you should get it checked."
Dominic looked at her. "My wife is a doctor. She treated the wound herself. I’m fine."
"Oh, I see." Emily smiled. "You are lucky, sir. You have a doctor waiting for you at home."
"Yes." Dominic’s smile widened. "I’m fortunate to have such a beautiful wife."
Emily nodded politely. "Please call me if you need anything."
She left the office.
The moment the door closed, Dominic’s phone rang. He glanced at the screen.
Mila.
His expression immediately softened.
"Hey, sweetheart. It hasn’t even been an hour since I left home, and you are already missing me?"
"Stop joking, Dominic." Mila’s worried voice came through the speaker. "How is your hand? Is it hurting? Do you feel any numbness?"
Dominic chuckled. "Everything is fine."
"How can everything be fine? You are still injured, and you insisted on coming to work." Her voice carried a mixture of worry and irritation. "Do you have any idea how worried I am?"
"I know, my love." His voice softened. "And I’m sorry for making you worry. Just give me some time. By the end of the day, I’ll be all yours."
Only then did Mila smile. But her tone remained stern. "Don’t forget your promise."
"I won’t."
"Come home early. Cassian and I will be waiting for you."
"Then I can’t wait to finish everything quickly and rush home."
Mila laughed softly through the phone.
The sound made Dominic’s heart race.
"Don’t be impatient. Since you’ve gone to the office, focus on your work."
The call ended.
The smile remained on Dominic’s face.
"Focus on work." He shook his head with a chuckle. "How can I disobey my wife’s command?"
He pulled a file toward himself and began going through it.
~~~~~~~~
An hour later, the conference hall was filled with the board members and senior executives. Everyone took their seats.
Dominic sat at the head of the table. "The collaboration with Lord Mathius has been restored."
A wave of relief passed through the room.
"The supply chain is operational again. The seized ports have resumed operations. Several old clients have agreed to renew their contracts, and investors are once again willing to inject capital into our ventures."
The executives exchanged joyous looks.
Dominic continued, "The losses the company suffered over the past few weeks will be recovered. All suspended projects will restart as soon as the renewal contracts are signed."
He paused. "Within a few days, everything will be back on track."
The executives and board members applauded. For the first time in weeks, hope returned to the room.
Dominic raised his hand, and the applause gradually stopped.
"I want all of you to trust me and support me the same way you once supported Mr. Luke Bellini."
A senior board member slowly rose to his feet. "Mr. Russo, Luke was once a good leader. He worked hard and took this company to its peak. We saw some of the Bellini Group’s best years under his leadership."
The man’s expression turned solemn. "But over time, his ambition became excessive. He wanted more power and more control."
He shook his head. "That hunger for power eventually turned him against his own partner."
Several directors nodded.
"Initially, his plan seemed successful. Profits were increasing, and the company continued expanding."
The man’s voice became bitter. "But eventually, everything changed. The company began losing money from every direction because Lord Mathius discovered what Luke had been doing."
He sighed. "To gain more power, Luke risked everything. He endangered this company and every employee working here."
His expression softened with relief. "We were fortunate that you stepped in when you did, Mr. Russo. You negotiated with Lord Mathius and prevented the company from collapsing."
Another director nodded. "If you hadn’t intervened, the Bellini Group would have been bankrupt."
Before Dominic could respond, the conference room doors suddenly burst open.
Everyone turned.
Luke walked inside. He leaned heavily on a cane, his face twisted with fury.
"You bastard." His roar echoed through the room. "How dare you take my position?"
Luke looked thinner than before. His hair had turned almost completely gray, and deep lines had appeared across his face. He looked as though the events of the past few weeks had aged him by a decade.
Yet his eyes remained sharp.
He pointed his cane toward Dominic. "Get out of that chair right now." His voice shook with rage. "Or I’ll call security and have you thrown out."
Dominic leaned back in his chair. A faint smirk appeared on his lips. "Do you still have the authority to throw me out?"
Luke froze.
One of the senior directors immediately stood. "Luke, you have no right to humiliate the chairman." He pointed toward the door. "You are the one who intruded into this meeting. You should be the one to leave."
"This is my company," Luke roared. "I am the chairman."
He swept his furious gaze across the room. "But all of you betrayed me. You abandoned me and joined hands with him."
He pointed accusingly at Dominic. "I worked my entire life for this company. And when my family was in crisis, every one of you turned your backs on me. This is outrageous."
"We stood by you until you nearly destroyed everything." A younger director slammed his palm against the table. "How dare you blame us?"
Luke glared at him.
"You were supposed to work with Lord Mathius, but you betrayed him and tried to take control of his business." Another director spoke up. "We warned you repeatedly, but you silenced every person who opposed you. It was your reckless decisions that brought this company to the brink of collapse."
His voice was firm. "Lord Mathius turned against us because of what you did. If Mr. Russo hadn’t stepped forward and repaired that relationship, this company would have been bankrupt."
"Shut up." Luke’s entire body trembled with rage. "He stole my company. And you are all supporting him?"
His voice became hysterical. "I’ll sue every one of you. I’ll drag you all to hell."
"Silence." Dominic’s voice cut through the room.
All eyes turned toward him.
Dominic slowly rose from his chair. His gaze settled on Luke. He had been waiting for this moment.
He knew Luke would come. And that was precisely why he had come to the office today.
It was time to end the game.
"Luke Bellini. This company is no longer yours. It is Russo Holdings now. My company. And I am the chairman."
He looked around the conference table before returning his gaze to Luke. "This board answers to me now. You have no position here."
