The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!
Chapter 350: Live Broadcast!
The masked leader then addressed the crowd.
"There are bombs installed throughout the hospital. If you do anything stupid, I might blow all of us up together."
As he spoke, he took a remote control out of the inner pocket of his jacket.
The crowd became even more frightened.
Meanwhile, Sam, Bert, and Ron had been silently watching everything while hiding nearby.
Sam’s expression was serious.
"This situation is much more serious than we thought."
Bert nodded.
"If it’s a hand-to-hand fight, we should be able to beat them."
"But the problem is that they have guns."
Ron spoke with a frown.
"Exactly."
Sam’s expression became grim.
"As long as they keep the people here hostage, the police might be helpless."
"There’s only one way this situation can turn around."
Bert suddenly spoke up.
"What way?"
Sam and Ron looked at Bert with hope.
Among the four brothers, Bert’s mind was considered the sharpest.
If he said there was a way, then there had to be a way.
Bert took a deep breath and spoke seriously.
"Lord Lavatory."
He paused.
"He is our only hope right now."
Sam and Ron’s eyes lit up for a moment before quickly dimming.
"Even if Lord Lavatory is a superhuman, can he dodge bullets?"
"Besides, he’s unconscious right now. Who knows when he’ll wake up?"
"We must give it a try."
Bert remained firm.
"Let’s go."
Sam and Ron sighed before nodding.
There was no other way.
For now, they could only place their hope in Lord Lavatory.
***
The news of terrorists attacking Jiangnan City Hospital and taking hundreds of hostages spread like wildfire.
Within minutes, every major news channel had switched to live coverage.
Helicopters circled above the hospital while police vehicles surrounded the building. Officers had formed a defensive perimeter around both entrances, rifles ready and eyes fixed on the windows.
Every attempt to approach the hospital had ended futile.
When the recived in response was gunshots.
The terrorists would fire at the ceiling or threaten to shoot another hostage, forcing the police to retreat.
Inside the command vehicle, Captain Song Jinyu gritted her teeth before hanging up the intercom.
"Damn bastards. They shot someone again."
Five people had already been shot.
The terrorists hadn’t killed anyone yet, but that hardly made things better. The wounded were losing blood, and without immediate treatment, they would eventually die.
But the terrorists refused to allow the doctors to treat them. They were deliberately leaving the wounded writhering in pain.
Outside, news anchors continued reporting the situation, their voices becoming increasingly tense as the number of viewers climbed.
Then, suddenly, the broadcast changed.
"Wait... We are receiving another development."
The anchor’s expression stiffened.
"The terrorists... they’ve started a live broadcast."
"What?"
Across the country, millions of people suddenly found themselves staring at the same screen. The audacity of it left even the reporters speechless.
Inside the command vehicle, Song Jinyu stared at the phone screen. Her face was filled with rage, humiliation, and helplessness.
On the livestream, an eagle-masked terrorist appeared.
He slowly turned the camera toward the kneeling hostages.
Hundreds of terrified people were packed together, their hands behind their heads. Some were crying. Others were trembling uncontrollably.
The masked man walked toward a middle-aged man whose entire body was shaking.
"Are you scared?"
The man swallowed hard but couldn’t answer.
Before he could say anything, the terrorist punched him across the face.
"Then tell the police how scared you are!"
"I-I’m sorry! I’m sorry! Please don’t beat me!"
The terrorist kicked him in the stomach.
"Trash."
The man collapsed, clutching his stomach.
The other hostages immediately lowered their heads, terrified that even looking at the terrorist might attract his attention.
The masked man glanced at the viewer count.
Then he suddenly laughed.
"Hahaha! Would you look at that! 120,305 people!"
He pointed at the number on the screen.
"So many people are watching me!"
His gaze shifted toward a young woman who was silently crying.
"Miss, tell me something. Is this viewer count enough for me to be called a popular streamer?"
The woman frantically nodded.
"Yes..."
She nodded again and again like a like chicken, too frightened to risk giving the wrong answer.
The terrorist stared at her.
"Then why..."
His voice suddenly rose.
"WHY ARE THEY NOT ANSWERING OUR DEMANDS?!"
Slap!
The woman’s head snapped sideways.
A collective gasp escaped from viewers watching the livestream.
["What the hell..."]
["They’re insane!"]
["Someone stop them!"]
["Where is the police?!"]
Angry comments flooded the livestream faster than anyone could read them.
But the police watching the broadcast couldn’t do anything. They could only watch.
The masked terrorist grabbed the camera.
"Listen carefully, police! My patience is limited."
His voice echoed through the broadcast.
"If I don’t see your latest Archer-model armed helicopter and one billion in cash within twenty minutes..."
He paused.
Then pointed toward the terrified hostages.
"I’ll blow this entire hospital apart."
The atmosphere inside the police command center turned deathly silent.
"Remember..."
The terrorist’s voice became colder.
"All these hundreds of lives are your responsibility."
He then handed the camera to one of the hostages.
"You. Show them."
The terrified college student took the camera with trembling hands.
Slowly, he turned it toward the other hostages.
The viewers finally saw the situation clearly.
The wounded lay on the floor, blood soaking through their clothes.
Some were crying in pain.
Others were desperately trying to comfort their families.
Most simply stared at the camera with terrified eyes.
For several seconds, even the news anchors couldn’t speak.
The livestream chat exploded.
["Those people need medical attention!"]
["Give them the helicopter!"]
["Just save them!"]
["Why aren’t they doing anything?!"]
["Don’t attack! You’ll get everyone killed!"]
["Those bastards are enjoying this!"]
Across Jiangnan City, people gathered around televisions and phones, watching in fear.
The police were under enormous pressure.
The military was being pressured to intervene.
And the terrorists had successfully turned the entire country into an audience.
Inside the police headquarters, the chief slammed his hand against the table...
