Chang Wang touched down lightly, landing in front of Yang An in an instant, and waited for him to make his move.

But Yang An was in no hurry to act.

"I haven’t said what happens if you can’t take my one attack."

"How dare you!"

Before Chang Wang could respond, the Cultivators flanking them roared, but Yang An paid them no mind, looking only at Chang Wang.

"What do you want?"

Chang Wang asked, his eyes narrowing.

"I want to be an Elder."

Yang An said, smiling.

His words once again plunged the crowd into a dead silence. No one responded for a long time.

"Are you serious?"

Chang Wang stared intently at Yang An.

"Do I look like I’m joking?"

Yang An retorted, his gaze sweeping over the crowd.

"Make your move. For now, you can only be my Direct Disciple. In the future, if your Cultivation Level improves, I may be able to recommend you to become an Elder of the Mansion."

Chang Wang spoke slowly, much to the astonishment of the assembled Cultivators.

His words struck the other Cultivators as unbelievable. It was the first time they had ever heard their master act this way; he seemed to be rejecting Yang An’s ridiculous idea, yet he was also giving him hope for the future.

This was all the proof they needed that their master had genuinely taken a fancy to this arrogant, conceited fellow.

Yang An said no more. After all, strength was the only language that mattered. Anything else he said would just be dismissed by these people as a wild, fanciful joke.

Taking two slow steps back, Yang An held out a hand and shot a sidelong glance at the other Cultivators.

"Just a friendly warning. You’d better stand back."

But his words were met with sneers from the crowd.

’Forget how powerful Yang An’s one attack could possibly be. With their master present, nothing bad could happen. This was all just a farce.’

No one paid him any mind, and Yang An couldn’t be bothered to care. It was up to them whether they believed him or not. He looked at Chang Wang, who had clearly made his preparations. ’For him to be so serious about this is actually a little surprising.’

’He’s just a Divinity Transformation Cultivator. Back in the Origin Realm, I’ve killed more Zombie Gods than I can count.’

"Relax a little. It’s not like you can block it anyway."

Yang An offered this casual reminder to Chang Wang. The moment he finished speaking, he threw a perfectly ordinary punch toward him.

A flicker of disdain crossed Chang Wang’s face and he snorted coldly. But in the next instant, his expression changed completely.

The punch looked ordinary. It even felt ordinary as it approached. But when Chang Wang felt the true force contained within it, it was no longer ordinary at all.

’It was hard to imagine a Golden Core could throw such a punch. No wonder my Direct Disciple was defeated by him.’

A thousand thoughts flashed through Chang Wang’s mind, but his hands moved faster than his thoughts, already responding to the threat.

He also raised just one hand in front of him, gathering his immense Spiritual Power as a Divinity Transformation Cultivator to summon a mirror.

Though it wasn’t his Lifebound Magical Treasure, it was still a Magical Treasure with incredibly strong defensive capabilities. He had poured a vast amount of Spiritual Power into it, unleashing its full might.

From the moment Yang An revealed his power, Chang Wang had stopped underestimating him entirely and was now defending with his full strength.

But the moment Yang An’s fist touched the mirror, a brilliant light flashed. His fist punched through the mirror with shocking ease and landed squarely on Chang Wang.

Chang Wang had never seen this coming.

Before the onlookers could even react to what had happened, Chang Wang’s body was sent flying backward from the force of the punch.

A series of sharp CRACKS echoed through the air as the mirror shattered into countless pieces.

It was a scene identical to the one before.
