The Demon with Holy Radiance
Chapter 687 - 377: Purge
A single point of light arrived first, followed by a dazzling bloom that filled the sky.
The moment Yang An’s voice fell, the Power of Rules he channeled caused the light inside Hai Shu’s Dharma Body to erupt violently.
The countless specks of light, originally like needles, now grew intensely brilliant, making Hai Shu’s Dharma Body appear almost translucent.
The flesh that connected the many heads, now glowing from within, stemmed from Hai Shu’s true self, hidden deep inside the Dharma Body.
Hai Shu had effectively become the Heart and core of this Dharma Body.
And at this moment, Hai Shu, situated inside his Dharma Body, had been pierced by the light, leaving him riddled with holes.
The colossal Dharma Body suddenly fell to its knees, crashing down like a mountain of flesh.
The heads behind him went berserk, howling in agony. The more they shrieked, the more cacophonous it became, and the more frenzied Hai Shu grew.
"Shut up! I told you all to shut up!"
He roared in pain, forcing his hands to grab several of the heads. The Dharma Body opened its massive mouth and swallowed them whole.
The heads, products of the Insect Dao, burst like watermelons in the Dharma Body’s mouth, shattering into a mess of blood and gore.
Hai Shu seemed to be at his wit’s end. He desperately tried to preserve the fused power within him by devouring the heads, attempting to slow the Dharma Body’s collapse.
But even so, he could not stop the eruption of countless lights from within, nor could he bear the ever-increasing cost. His Dharma Body had reached its breaking point.
With a thunderous BOOM, the mountain of flesh completely disintegrated. No longer stabilized by the Power of Rules, the Buddhist Mantras shattered and vanished. The Dharma Body collapsed into a rain of sundered flesh, the impact of which violently shook the grounds of Great Virtue Temple.
"Lighting Technique!"
"Great Light Floating World!"
Yang An stood at a safe distance, unwilling to give Hai Shu any chance to turn the tables.
Since he had made his move, he would see it through to the end. He would kill Hai Shu completely, leaving him no room to breathe.
He first activated the Lighting Technique, which could ignite blood. In his current state, Hai Shu would surely be unable to extinguish these flames, which would drive him further into madness until he lost all reason.
Then, he unleashed his newly created Technique. This Technique drew upon a vast amount of the Power of Rules, covered an enormous area, and possessed immense destructive capability, ensuring that every last piece of the collapsed Dharma Body would be utterly dissolved.
Under the assault of the two consecutive Techniques, dark red flames once again shot toward the sky, igniting the flesh of Hai Shu’s collapsed Dharma Body in the blink of an eye.
Within a radius of tens of thousands of meters, enveloping the entire Great Virtue Temple, countless points of light formed a magnificent high wall. Dazzling rays of light shot back and forth within it, one after another.
Hai Xin had just been rescued and tossed into the distance. His body had not yet fully recovered, and he was still being burned by Karmic Fire.
He didn’t know what was happening, but it was clear that Yang An had just saved him. Now, seeing Yang An’s terrifying move—which seemed to envelop the entire Great Virtue Temple, targeting Monk and Demon Fiend alike—a chill ran down his spine.
Using what little he could of his mangled body—the parts that had recovered and were not yet touched by the Karmic Fire—he hugged Piglet tightly. Nearby, Liu Feifei trembled inside the cage formed by the Power of Rules, witnessing a scene unlike anything she had ever experienced.
As countless rays of light appeared, Hai Xin squeezed his eyes shut. ’That’s the Dharma Body of a Great Bodhisattva! It can’t be destroyed!’ But the rays of light seemed to deliberately curve around him. When he realized this, Hai Xin let out a silent sigh of relief and turned to watch the unfolding events in shock.
The Demon Fiends, who had been slaughtering the Monks inside the temple, all stopped in their tracks. Sensing the impending danger, they desperately tried to escape.
The Monks, too, fled in a panic.
But the entire Great Virtue Temple was now surrounded by a cage of countless lights, without a single gap. Rays of light, faster than lightning, indiscriminately struck everything in their path, piercing through bodies in an instant.
Under such terrifying power, everyone inside the temple, whether Demon Fiend or Monk, let out unprecedented wails of agony. One by one, their life forces faded, leaving countless motes of ash floating in the air.
Yang An’s attention, however, was not on these Demon Fiends and Monks. Their deaths were merely collateral damage. He only wanted to see Hai Shu die.
Yet even now, with his Dharma Body shattered, his flesh ignited, and his being pierced and engulfed by countless rays of light, Hai Shu’s life force remained stubbornly tenacious.
Amidst the raging inferno, the Power of Rules pulsed. The burning flames froze into crystals, and a massive hand, covered in cracks and Buddhist Mantras, reached out. It shattered the crystals as it lunged toward Yang An.
Hai Shu was still fighting a desperate, losing battle, using the Power of Rules in an attempt to reform his Dharma Body.
But the massive hand did not get far. Its arm was pierced by countless rays of light, the Buddhist Mantras shattered once more, and its flesh disintegrated.
Although Hai Shu had managed to freeze the flames of the Lighting Technique in one direction, several of the fused heads behind him were incinerated by the fire and light, turning to ash. The remaining heads also seemed to be on the verge of collapse.
Ultimately, while Hai Shu had devoured and fused with all the Insect Dao practitioners in Great Virtue Temple to achieve power far beyond their own, each component still only possessed the Cultivation Level of the Insect Dao. They were utterly incapable of blocking Yang An’s attack.
Even so, Hai Shu had managed to hold on for a long time under the power of the golden sun, and even had strength left to resist.
