Hai Si was still clutching a regenerating thigh, desperately trying to resist the suction, but it was useless. He screamed incessantly at the monster that had appeared behind the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall.

Hidden in the shadows, Yang An witnessed the scene and had already quietly extended his perception.

The monster behind the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall was already over a hundred feet tall and was still growing larger. A bizarre aura emanated from it.

It was Hai Shu's aura. The moment he sensed it, Yang An immediately identified the monster: Hai Shu, the very same one Hai Xin had just driven back.

Hai Shu's body was now constantly twisting, but it had already taken on the rough form of a Buddha.

His body was still covered with an assortment of different faces.

Flesh and blood grew from beneath these faces, each one connected by something like a long neck. Different Buddhist Mantras were carved onto their round heads.

The main reason the aura felt so bizarre was that Yang An could sense it growing stronger and stronger, as if its power was increasing without any limit.

But the Immortal Platform lay beyond the Insect Dao. No matter how much its power increased, it could never reach the level of Old Life Crane.

Right now, Hai Shu seemed trapped within the Insect Dao. He could only ascend within the confines of that realm, never reaching its apex.

Hai Si's body carved a deep trench in the ground as he was dragged along. He desperately tried to grab onto any obstacle to stop himself from being pulled toward Hai Shu, but it was all for naught.

At the very end, he even tried to self-destruct, forcefully tearing apart his own flesh and blood to become dismembered once more.

However, this only made him get pulled in faster.

With a final, agonized scream filled with rage and indignation, Hai Si's fragmented body merged into the monster.

A new Buddhist Mantra materialized on the monster's skin, quickly forming a familiar face: the face of Hai Si.

His face was still contorted with the rage and indignation of his final moment, an expression now seemingly frozen for eternity.

In the blink of an eye, after Hai Shu absorbed Hai Si's body, the monster instantly grew several yards taller.

Demon Fiends and monsters continued to pour out from the depths of the Eternal Prison, their numbers endless.

Hai Shu's enormous form naturally drew the attention of these fiends. Some turned to attack the other members of Great Virtue Temple, while the rest charged madly toward Hai Shu.

But before the fiends could even get close to Hai Shu, the faces on his body shot out and devoured them one by one. In an instant, all the attacking Demon Fiends were consumed, vanishing without a trace before they could even react.

From the moment the Demon Fiends first appeared in great numbers, the entirety of Great Virtue Temple had been filled with the stench of blood and filth. Brutal slaughter was everywhere; it was a river of blood.

Meanwhile, Hai Xin was still using all his might to break the Seal that bound him to the Eternal Prison. He didn't care what became of Great Virtue Temple.

'In my mind, as long as the Great Bodhisattva returns, Great Virtue Temple will eventually be restored to its former glory.'

'But if I don't destroy the Seal that was placed on me, I can't leave this place. I can't return to the Great Bodhisattva's side.'

He was desperately activating his full Power of Rules. Black Pupil was the manifestation of this power; anything reflected in or tainted by it would shatter, with a portion of the broken matter becoming nourishment for Black Pupil.

But the price for activating this Power of Rules was that he, too, would be tainted by Black Pupil, which would transform into Karmic Fire and burn him. If the burning continued past a certain limit, he himself would shatter under its power.

But now, to break the Seal, Hai Xin couldn't afford to worry about that.

Looking at the Piglet in his hands, a trace of determination surfaced on Hai Xin's pained face.

"Bodhisattva, to await your return, I am willing to be burned by Karmic Fire and suffer eternal damnation!"

Cracks spread across the long, innumerable chains. As more and more Black Pupils appeared on them, the chains turned completely pitch-black.

It was as if Hai Xin was ripping out deep-seated roots from the earth; they snapped one by one, shattering into countless fragments in an instant.

But just as the final chains were about to shatter, a black shadow descended from the sky, appearing before Hai Xin. A giant hand seized him and slammed him violently into the ground.

A massive crater was blasted into the ground. The force of the impact sent the surrounding Demon Fiends flying, causing them to explode in mid-air.

Hai Xin couldn't react in time and suffered a devastating blow, sending him into the crater. However, the impact also finally shattered all the chains that bound him.

Fortunately, his first instinct had been to protect the Dharma Body in his arms, and the Piglet was still alive and well. He glared angrily at his sudden attacker.

Looming over the crater was a grotesque Buddha statue, hundreds of feet tall.

Its entire body was a mix of black and red, like blood and mud swirled together.

From the back of this statue—which was neither gold nor flesh, but something in between—protruded numerous heads, each crowned with a Buddhist Mantra. Every one of them belonged to someone Hai Xin recognized, including Hai Si.

The original owners of these heads were all Bodhisattvas from Great Virtue Temple. Now, however, they had all become mere appendages of this giant Buddha statue.

The Buddha statue gazed down at Hai Xin from its great height. Its eyes were cold and emotionless, as if looking down upon all creation. And from it came the voice of Hai Shu.
