The Demon with Holy Radiance
Chapter 670 - 371: Reincarnation Dharma Body
"He’s gone?"
Hearing Thirty Flow’s words, Yang An didn’t immediately grasp their meaning.
’He’s gone, so what? He’s a grown man, where could he have gone?’
Besides, the man was an Immortal Platform. Who in this world could possibly harm him?
Although Yang An couldn’t see Thirty Flow’s face, he could sense the gravity in his tone.
"I went looking for the Supreme Elder. He wasn’t there, but I found a voice transmission he left behind."
At this, Thirty Flow took out an object that looked like a piece of burnt charcoal.
But Thirty Flow quickly infused it with Mana, and the charcoal-like object instantly began to expand and contract like a living, breathing thing.
At the same time, Life Crane’s voice emanated from it, sounding as if he were standing right in front of them.
"If I am not here, find Yang An. He will know what to do."
"..."
Hearing Life Crane’s voice, Yang An sank into thought.
’So, this Thirty Flow fellow went to find Life Crane, discovered he was gone, and only found a voice message telling him to find me?’
Thirty Flow knew Yang An’s real name, so he knew exactly who Life Crane was referring to and came to find him at once.
But what did Life Crane’s message mean?
’I will know what to do?’
Countless thoughts instantly flooded Yang An’s mind.
’Judging by the message Life Crane left, he must have anticipated his own absence. He also knew Thirty Flow would come looking for him, which is why he left it.’
If Life Crane had simply vanished without a trace, it would imply his disappearance was forced. For Yang An, that would have been a good thing.
Without Life Crane’s constraints, he could do many things.
But deliberately leaving a message for Thirty Flow carried a different meaning. It suggested that Life Crane might have left of his own accord for some reason, and that’s why he specifically named Yang An for Thirty Flow to find.
Even in his absence, this was a warning to Yang An: behave and don’t get any funny ideas.
As for "what to do," Yang An quickly formed a plan.
From the very beginning, Life Crane had wanted to stop people from the Outer Continent from entering the Central Continent. So, what Yang An had to do was help him achieve this goal—to carry on the old man’s legacy... his long-held wish.
Besides that, Yang An really couldn’t think of anything else Life Crane could have meant.
"So, Elder Mu, what do you intend to do?"
Thirty Flow stared intently at Yang An, discerning a few things from the change in his expression.
It seemed his previous suspicions were correct. The relationship between Yang An and the Supreme Elder was truly unusual. With just one cryptic sentence, Yang An had quickly grasped its meaning.
On the other hand, this also gave Thirty Flow a sense of crisis.
The Supreme Elder had left this specific message, which, in a way, elevated Yang An’s status tremendously. Even he, the Pavilion Master, now had to ask for Yang An’s opinion.
And yet, he couldn’t very well ignore the Supreme Elder’s words.
Hearing Thirty Flow’s question, Yang An mulled it over for a moment before a smile suddenly appeared on his face.
"Pavilion Master, you need not ask me. It isn’t my place as an Elder to decide what to do. You should do whatever you think is best, Pavilion Master, to fulfill the Supreme Elder’s instructions.
As for me, I will likely need to leave for a few days."
Yang An needed to leave for Nirvana City to meet with Forbidden Calamity anyway, and he understood that Life Crane’s words had just granted him a great deal of authority.
Regardless of whether this made Thirty Flow hostile toward him, Yang An had no desire for conflict with the man, so long as Thirty Flow didn’t provoke him first.
That being the case, he might as well use the authority Life Crane had given him to leave openly. Thirty Flow would surely not stop him.
"Very well. Just return soon, Elder. Your strength is greatly needed in the current battle."
Hearing Yang An’s response, Thirty Flow felt a little more at ease and readily agreed.
Thirty Flow quickly departed. Yang An, however, did not leave immediately. Instead, he stayed behind, pondering. ’Where could that strange old man Life Crane have gone? What is he up to?’
This was a critical time for the entire Golden Thread Pavilion.
Life Crane was the Golden Thread Pavilion’s Supreme Elder and its strongest fighter. If word of his sudden disappearance got out, it would surely cause widespread panic within the Pavilion.
As the Pavilion Master, Thirty Flow certainly wouldn’t want this matter exposed, which would only lead to suspicion among his subordinates.
But for the Golden Thread Pavilion’s rivals, the Great Virtue Temple, this would be the perfect opportunity to strike while they were vulnerable.
’Could that old man Life Crane have been tied down by the Immortal Platforms who came as reinforcements from the other two domains?’
Yang An considered this possibility. After all, if one were to ask who benefited most from Life Crane’s sudden disappearance, the answer was undoubtedly their enemy, the Great Virtue Temple.
If that were the case, the situation would likely become increasingly disadvantageous for the Golden Thread Pavilion!
’I have to speed things up!’
If Yang An had to choose between following Life Crane’s command to stop the people from the Outer Continent from entering the Central Continent and letting them obtain the complete Command Token to enter, he would rather choose the former.
At least by siding with Life Crane, he would have more opportunities.
But if the other, unaffiliated domains entered the Central Continent, he would be left with no opportunities at all.
...
「Nirvana City」
The sky was just beginning to lighten when the clamorous toll of a great bell suddenly echoed through Nirvana City, signaling another Demon Fiend attack.
