The Delicate Darling with Her Rough Man
Chapter 783 - 779: Thinking of a Way
Father Sun roared, and Mrs. Sun didn’t dare cry anymore. She waited until he was far away before she started cursing under her breath.
"Those people from the eldest branch are so shameless. They insisted on splitting the family back then. If we hadn’t, would she have been bullied like this?"
The more Mrs. Sun thought about it, the angrier she became, but there was nothing she could do. She was still hoping the eldest branch would give them some advice!
Father Sun arrived at the eldest branch’s home. Eldest Sun happened to be in the yard, and Father Sun called out to him with a sorrowful expression, "Eldest Brother."
Eldest Sun glanced at his younger brother and was taken aback by what he saw.
They hadn’t seen each other in a while, but it looked as if his younger brother had aged ten years.
He quickly ushered him inside. "What’s the matter? Is there trouble at home?"
He truly didn’t know what had happened to his younger brother. Since the family split, he had moved out with his wife and children. They worked during the day and spent their evenings fixing up their new yard. It had taken half a month of hard work just to get the place looking decent.
His new home was in a more remote part of the village, and he didn’t know the neighbors well, so no one had gossiped to him about the Old Sun Family.
Sun Laoer sighed. "It’s all because of the chaos at home. Ye Shu offended Gu Zhiqing, so now our family has to do all our work by hand. My second son’s engagement was called off, and my eldest son’s wife wants a divorce. Eldest Brother, tell me, how did things get to this point?"
Seeing his younger brother, a grown man, with red-rimmed eyes as tears streamed down his face, Eldest Sun’s heart filled with pity.
"You people! You’ve simply spoiled Ye Shu rotten. Your sister-in-law tried to talk sense into your wife, telling her not to cause trouble for Gu Zhiqing. But your wife and daughter just accused her of being biased."
"And you didn’t even stop to think—the team’s machinery, the pigs—it all depends on that couple. They say one word, and you’re left with nothing."
"Don’t be fooled just because they’re here in Qingshan Team now. If the times were different, do you think you’d even be able to get near someone so capable?"
"Having people like that on our team is a blessing for Qingshan Team. All we need to do is follow their lead and listen. But no, Ye Shu just had to go out of her way to offend them."
"Haven’t you seen how even the team leader fawns over Leng Yuan? The leader of the neighboring team is over here practically every day, begging Leng Yuan to visit them. And your family... you’re all so clueless!"
Eldest Sun stopped just short of saying, ’You don’t even realize who holds your fate in their hands. You just kept indulging your daughter, and now, you’ve brought this on yourselves.’
Being lectured by his older brother, Sun Laoer was embarrassed, but he kept a regretful expression on his face.
"Eldest Brother, I know all that now. What’s happened has happened, and there’s nothing I can do. Can you think of any way to get Gu Zhiqing to stop targeting us?"
Eldest Sun glanced at Sun Laoer and took a deep breath. "Forget about Gu Zhiqing. As for your eldest son’s wife, however... if you go to her sincerely and apologize, your daughter-in-law might come back."
"Only with harmony at home can everything prosper."
Hearing this, Sun Laoer’s eyes lit up. He immediately stood up and left.
Eldest Sun sighed as he watched Sun Laoer’s retreating back. When he turned, he saw his wife push aside the door curtain and step out, a sour look on her face.
"He didn’t want to hear what you had to say. If you’d said any more, he would have just thought you were jealous because he has a daughter and you don’t!"
The second branch doted on their daughter so much, and it’s not just Mrs. Sun. That brother of yours, Sun Laoer, tacitly approved of it all.
Otherwise, even if Mrs. Sun spoiled her, it wouldn’t have gotten so out of hand.
Any decent bite of food in that house had to go to the daughter.
They’ve spoiled her to the point where she can’t tell right from wrong.
And the worst part is, you can’t say a word about it.
"Every time I open my mouth, they make snide remarks about how I never had a daughter, so I must be jealous of their daughter, and so on and so forth."
"Jealous, my foot! Even if I wanted a daughter, I would never want a family-wrecking little monster like Sun Yeshu!"
