"Oh, that sounds good. Let’s go to my family’s island for summer vacation. My family bought an island; we can barbecue at night," Tianmiao said casually while eating a marinated chicken leg.

Han Ting and Huang Shiyuan’s chopsticks froze in mid-air, and then the two slowly and mechanically looked up at Tianmiao, exchanging glances afterwards.

"Did I hear that correctly?"

"No, you heard correctly, and I heard correctly too."

The two confirmed that they didn’t mishear.

"Tianmiao, your family has, has an island? Like the kind I’m thinking of?" Han Ting’s eyes widened. Although she had some vague idea that Tianmiao’s family was quite wealthy, wealthier than theirs, she didn’t expect them to be this wealthy!

"Probably? The kind where you can pick up shells on the beach. Also, where sea turtles dig pits to lay eggs," Tianmiao thought for a moment and added, "I can ask the housekeeper to set up a bonfire for us at night, and we can grill our own barbecue. If it gets burnt, you have to eat it yourselves; I’m not eating it."

Huang Shiyuan: "..."

Han Ting: "..."

No, the main point isn’t the food getting burnt!

The main point is that your family actually owns an island, an island for vacation!

"I used to think your family was wealthy enough. It seems like Tianmiao’s family is even wealthier?" Huang Shiyuan looked at the equally stunned Han Ting and asked with difficulty.

"I always thought Tianmiao’s family had a mine, but now it seems they’re as rich as a country?" Han Ting said with difficulty too.

"Old money friends?" Han Ting and Huang Shiyuan said in unison.

"Stop babbling, study hard this semester, or the vacation plan is off," Tianmiao said with some annoyance.

"Yes, yes, we’ll work hard for the private island vacation," Han Ting and Huang Shiyuan said firmly and ambitiously.

Motivated by Tianmiao’s offer, Han Ting and Huang Shiyuan studied more diligently.

However, Zhang Mengfei from their dorm room changed.

She started getting addicted to gaming.

At first, she played in the dorm when there were no classes, staying up till bedtime. Although A University officially turned off the lights at night, they didn’t actually cut off the power, just recommended a resting time. Zhang Mengfei would wait until 10:30 to wash up and then keep playing on her phone until she finally rested.

Gradually, Zhang Mengfei didn’t only play when she had no classes; sometimes she even skipped classes, and would play late into the night.

At 11 PM, she still had her headphones on, laughing and chatting with her game friends, typing loudly, which seriously affected the rest of the room.

Han Ting and Huang Shiyuan couldn’t help but remind her to keep it down. She would make an effort for a while but soon forget, laughing loudly again, banging on the keyboard, often not quitting the game until after midnight.

As for her studies, it was even worse; she hadn’t been to a self-study class once this semester and hadn’t gone to the library. She spent all her time in the dorm playing games, playing to the point of losing track of time. Now, the thing she talks to Han Ting and the others about the most is asking them to bring her meals.

After bringing meals several times, Han Ting finally couldn’t help but advise her not to play so much, sitting all the time isn’t good for her health.

Then Zhang Mengfei got upset, ignoring the advice; after that, she stopped asking them to bring meals, instead buying snacks like instant noodles, cookies, instant rice, and self-heating hot pots, keeping them nearby to eat when hungry.
