However, the three maids remained motionless.

Prince Kang was about to get angry when the voice of the Princess came from inside.

"All of you may leave. Prince, come in."

Only then did the three maids bow and leave.

Prince Kang suppressed the anger in his heart, forcefully pushed open the door, and went inside, closing the door behind him.

Walking into the bedroom, he saw the Princess sitting at the dressing table, admiring a hairpin.

Recalling the purpose of his visit, Prince Kang quelled his inner fury and softly said, "Princess, have you finally calmed down?"

The Princess turned her head, looking at Prince Kang with a half-smile: "Not really."

"Ah?" Prince Kang was stunned, never expecting such a direct answer.

After speaking, the Princess turned back and tried on the hairpin in front of the mirror.

"Does the Princess like this kind? Tomorrow I’ll send someone to buy some for you," Prince Kang came over, observing the Princess trying on the hairpin. He was somewhat surprised, was it just his illusion or did the Princess appear more beautiful than before? Even more radiant?

"Just give me silver, I’ll buy it myself. You don’t know which style I like." The Princess smiled sweetly at Prince Kang.

His heart stirred; did this mean the Princess had forgiven him and had calmed down?

"Sure, sure, I’ll give it to you. I’ll have the housekeeper bring it to you later. Is ten thousand taels of silver enough?" Prince Kang said with a smile.

"Enough for the hairpins I fancy, but I also have my eye on a bracelet." The Princess laughed charmingly.

"Then I’ll send another ten thousand," Prince Kang laughed.

"Much appreciated, Prince." The Princess put down the hairpin and expressed her thanks.

"No need for thanks, we are husband and wife, what’s mine is yours," Prince Kang, trying to please the Princess, began sweet-talking. These words were actually something he learned from a concubine.

The Princess smiled slightly, saying nothing.

"By the way, Princess, shouldn’t that wall be taken down at some point? It’s quite unpleasant for outsiders to see. You’re almost over your anger, aren’t you?" Prince Kang mentioned the wall matter after seeing the Princess smile.

"No dismantling, it’s fine as it is." The Princess flatly refused.

Prince Kang chuckled, "Is that so? It’s better to take it down; a wall separating the mansion just doesn’t make sense... Ah, wait, what did you say, Princess?"

"I said no dismantling." The Princess smiled, "I’ll consider taking it down once the Prince sends the silver."

Prince Kang blinked, was this a new way the Princess came up with to tease him?

"Alright, alright, I’ll send someone to get it right away." Prince Kang, eager for the Princess to dismantle the wall, said with a smile.

Consequently, the Princess called Xia He to bring the housekeeper over. The housekeeper came huffing and puffing after climbing a ladder, heard the Prince’s instructions, and then climbed back up to fetch the two notes for twenty thousand taels of silver and delivered them to Prince Kang.

Prince Kang handed the silver notes to the Princess and laughed, "Now can we take down the wall?"

"No dismantling." After putting away the silver notes, the Princess laughed and uttered two words.

Prince Kang could hardly believe his ears, what did the Princess say?

No dismantling?

No dismantling?!!

"You all may leave first," the Princess said to the housekeeper and Xia He, "I have words with the Prince."

"Leave," Prince Kang gestured.

The housekeeper and Xia He exited, closing the door behind them.

"Princess, please stop this fuss, alright?" Prince Kang said helplessly. In his view, the Princess was deliberately throwing a tantrum, intentionally giving him a hard time.
