The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop
Chapter 1066 - 24: Want to See You
"Hand it over." The handsome man coldly spat out two words, glaring at the little boy.
"..." The little boy felt a chill all over, and he instantly understood what the man meant. It was the white whiskers in his hand. He didn’t dare to argue or resist, because he felt that if he said anything remotely wrong, the man would crush him to death. Truly crush him... He couldn’t gauge the man’s strength. He felt that even his master would be crushed to death here.
The little boy raised the whiskers in his hand, keeping his head down and avoiding the man’s gaze.
Soon, he felt the whiskers being taken from him, and then it seemed like something else filled his hand?
He looked up, but the man was gone. He had vanished like that. The little boy squeezed the item in his hand, astonished to discover that it was a short sword suited for him. Moreover, it was a Divine Artifact!
Wha?! The little boy drew a sharp breath. Clearly, this Divine Artifact was far more valuable.
Why would that man exchange such a precious item for those carrot whiskers?
Could it be that this man knew the carrot sister from earlier?
...
Tianmiao took the pearls to the pawnshop and successfully exchanged them for Silver Tael. Moreover, she got three hundred and twenty taels, twenty more silver than the little crab mentioned. The pawn shop Boss even helpfully exchanged them for some broken silver and copper coins, convenient for her to buy things.
With money in hand, Tianmiao felt full of confidence, strolling the street and trying any delicious food she saw.
However, she couldn’t finish everything in one day, so Tianmiao decided to stay the night in this place and continue eating the next day. She found an inn, handed over silver, and arrived at the room labeled "Heaven." The attendant enthusiastically chatted as he led the way.
"Guest, you’re an outlander, aren’t you? You’ve come at the right time. There’s a lantern festival these days; you can stroll around at night. With your elegant demeanor, you surely are a scholar, and you can guess the riddles. There are rewards for guessing correctly, and you might even attract some attention from ladies." The attendant said with a smile.
"Is that so? I’ll check it out tonight, thank you." Tianmiao tossed a few copper coins to the attendant. Hmm, the insights from Senior Sister were right; a little monetary gratitude indeed brings joy to ordinary people’s hearts.
The attendant happily took the copper coins and said a few more nice words before leaving.
In the evening, Tianmiao went out after dinner.
On the streets, the lanterns dimly flickered, and people came and went.
Tianmiao’s attention was on various roadside stalls, not only offering various snacks but also selling little trinkets. Tianmiao walked to a vendor and picked up a round fan, giving it a shake; two rabbits were embroidered on it. This suits Moon Rabbit sister! Tianmiao asked the price and bought it briskly.
The vendor enthusiastically introduced other items. Tianmiao selected a few, paid, packed them up, and continued her walk.
After Tianmiao left, a handsome man paused in front of the stall, looking at the various items, calculating the gifts Tianmiao had just purchased, and sighed slightly in his heart. When would Miao Miao remember him and buy gifts for him too?
The vendor looked in confusion at the handsome man, wondering if someone with his attire and demeanor would frequent such a small stall. Yet he stood there silently— what was he doing?
The vendor didn’t know and didn’t dare to ask. He could only hope this extraordinary man would quickly move along and not interrupt his business.
...
At the moment, Tianmiao leisurely strolled through the lantern festival, elegantly waving a folding fan. In mortal eyes, she was just a graceful young man. But to those not mortal, she appeared a beautiful maiden, charming and captivating.
The North Sea’s Dragon Crown Prince felt that today wasn’t wasted in the mortal realm, as he believed he might be in love.
