Chapter 933 - Zhang Fei
Chapter 933: 933 - Zhang Fei
The landing deck where Golden Imperator one had landed down was fairly crowded.
Ships of every size came and went, the low hum of their engines filling the air. Cultivators in colorful robes hurried across the platform, each of them busy with their own affairs.
Lingxi, nestled in her mother’s arms, waved now and then at the people passing by, and at the strangely shaped ships that had her wide-eyed with wonder.
Every so often she let out an excited little squeal, her tiny hand pointing at some vessel larger than the rest, which ended up drawing quite a bit of attention.
Children weren’t a common sight in places like this.
It was rarer still for parents who weren’t mortals to do something like take their small child along on a trip.
Of course, the strange looks the young couple and their adorable daughter received didn’t last long.
First, Lingxi was simply too adorable—enough to warm even the hearts of Celestial Emperors.
Second, they were under the escort of four of the most powerful members of Tianjin’s Golden Guard.
One glance at the gleam of those men’s armor was enough to make the crowd part on its own.
Add Qingyi’s black horns to that—a feature little Lingxi shared—and it didn’t take much to put two and two together.
That young man was Long Qingyi, the current son-in-law of Long Tianjin.
The man who had entered the Heavenly Demon’s castle single-handedly, saved the Divine Sword Fairy, and brought her back to life.
Not only had he stripped the Heavenly Demon’s vault of every last bit of its wealth, he had also returned to the orthodox world numerous artifacts and cultivation techniques that had once belonged to great fallen masters of the past.
Put simply, every major sect that had ever lost a Celestial Emperor to the demons received back at least one legendary artifact it had believed lost forever.
Qingyi, the man responsible for all of it, had become a legend in his own right.
From the lowliest peasant to the mightiest immortal cultivator, everyone already knew his name.
Once they realized who he was, no one dared to stare too long, much less do anything that might upset little Lingxi.
They simply let the little girl have her fun as she explored this brand-new world from the safety of her beautiful mother’s arms.
Some even waved back, a bit awkwardly, drawing another round of giggles from her.
Qingyi just shook his head at it all and followed the guards toward one of the gates leading into the city.
Normally, the screening process to obtain an entry permit took a few hours, and requests were often rejected.
For Qingyi, it took only a few seconds.
The gate officer verified his identity in the blink of an eye and waved him through on the spot, bowing deeply as he handed over a permanent residency visa.
For all intents and purposes, it made him a native of the city with the highest level of access—even to the most restricted areas.
"Do you want me to go back to the Mind World?" Rouxi asked as they reached the wide main avenue leading to the heart of the Immortal Celestial Capital.
"No need." He shook his head. "Let Lingxi watch her dad beat up an arrogant jerk for a bit. It’s not like he poses a threat to anything bigger than a fly."
Rouxi simply nodded, a gentle smile on her lips as she shifted Lingxi higher against her soft chest, settling her more comfortably.
As a rule, flying within the Immortal Celestial Capital was illegal. But who would try to arrest a Celestial Emperor?
It wasn’t wrong to say they were above the law, so Qingyi didn’t think twice. He soared into the sky with Rouxi and his little one at his side, four Celestial Emperors flanking them.
A force like that made any city guard who spotted the illegal act lower his gaze at once and pretend he hadn’t seen a thing.
Lingxi let out a little squeal of joy as the wind hit her face, clinging to her mother’s neck with both tiny hands as the city’s rooftops grew smaller and smaller below.

Meanwhile, a considerable force stood outside one of the most luxurious hotels in the Immortal Celestial Capital.
One hundred guards blocked the hotel’s entrance, forming a wall of steel that made anyone passing by cross to the other side of the street without a second thought.
At their head stood two men.
One was a young man with an arrogant look about him, the kind who seemed to think he owned everything there—which wasn’t exactly wrong.
Seventy percent of everything on that street belonged to his family, including the armor those guards wore and the very hotel where the Divine Maiden was staying.
The only reason no one had kicked her out yet was that the hotel belonged to the main branch of the family.
And Zhang Fei, though he came from a branch very close to the main one, was not yet part of it.
Zhang Fei was a young man with tanned skin, blue eyes, and black hair.
Where his left hand should have been, there was nothing—just the empty sleeve fluttering slightly in the wind—while his right hand rested on the hilt of his sword.
Beside him stood the commander of the Third Regiment of the Immortal Celestial Capital Guard, a Cosmic Emperor of considerable power.
He wore an uneasy expression, his face tense and his eyes darting back and forth, as if he expected something to go wrong at any moment.
"You’re overthinking it." Zhang Fei didn’t even bother to look at him. "Didn’t I promise you that Qingyi wouldn’t be a problem? And you don’t even need to get involved. In a few days, the girl will be officially married to me anyway. Don’t worry."
The commander didn’t reply.
His eyes were fixed on the hotel door, which swung open just then, revealing a woman and a maidservant.
The commander’s pupils trembled at the sight of her beauty.
Her long, dark purple hair fell to her waist, framing a face with skin as white as jade. Even with anger etched across it, it was a face that could stop a heart.
The conservative robe she wore did little to hide the figure beneath it: a full bosom that rose and fell with every furious breath, a waist slender enough to close both hands around, and hips that flared out below it in a curve no fabric could conceal.
Now he understood why Zhang Fei was acting like a madman.
For a beauty like that, it was worth every promise he had made to so many people.
The beautiful woman stopped just outside the door, the abrupt halt sending a soft, heavy sway through her chest before it settled. The maid cowered a step behind her.
Her eyes held nothing but disgust, her teeth clenched tight and her hands balled into fists at her sides.
"Don’t give me such a hateful look, my love." Zhang Fei flashed a crooked smile, taking a step forward. "You’ll be my first wife, so I’d rather see you smiling when I take you."
