Chapter 2726: Chapter 9: Nine Out of Ten Films Flopped

She lived in Liangyuan Garden for a while and heard that Uncle Yun is actually someone who loves beauties more than power.

"Haha... you’ve uncovered me, little girl..."

Kaili laughed loudly and restarted the car.

At Hengji Plaza, Kaili drove the car into the underground parking garage.

"You should get a driver’s license too. It’s much more convenient with a license, and then Xiao Yi can get you a car."

Ye Rongyue nodded. She had been thinking about getting a license and also wanted to attend school here for two years. It was better than Great Zhou in that girls could attend school here.

"Yeah, I’m thinking of not getting it right now. I want to go to school, and I’d like to ask Uncle Yun to help arrange it."

"Silly girl, it’s no trouble at all. It’s just a matter of Uncle Yun saying the word. At your age, you should indeed be going to school. Let’s talk about this later."

They took the elevator straight to the eighteenth floor, where her favorite brands were.

Kaili didn’t even glance at the tags when shopping, just tossed one item after another to the sales staff behind her.

"Yueyue, which ones do you fancy?"

Ye Rongyue shook her head.

"Haven’t found any you like? Then we’ll try another store."

They swiftly settled the bill and moved to the next store.

"How about this place? The clothes here are pretty nice too. I used to like this brand when I was younger."

"You’re not old now. If we walked together, people would definitely think we’re sisters."

Kaili laughed heartily, "You really know how to cheer me up." Then she sighed, "Girls really are the best, so sweet."

Ye Rongyue was speechless. Her mother never thought she was sweet, though.

But thinking of her mother, she didn’t know if she would ever see her again in her lifetime. The longer she stayed here, the more she missed Great Zhou, her mom, dad, and every relative.

"How about this one?" It was a knee-length long-sleeve dress, but the neckline was a bit big.

Ye Rongyue quickly shook her head, "The collar is too big."

Kaili looked at the dress, thinking it wasn’t big at all, but upon seeing Ye Rongyue all wrapped up securely from head to toe, she finally understood why she hadn’t picked anything yet.

"I didn’t realize. Since you don’t like anything here, let’s find someone to custom-make something."

Ye Rongyue nodded; she really wasn’t used to clothes that showed arms and legs.

"Stop right there!"

Just as the two were leaving, they were halted by a loud shout.

"Little bitch, I’ve finally found you!"

Ye Rongyue turned around and saw it was the man who grabbed her hand last time.

"I’m telling you, be sensible and kowtow to me to apologize, or I’ll make sure you can’t survive in Capital City!"

"Oh, such arrogance." Kaili crossed her arms and eyed him, "Really think you’re someone important, eh? Since when did Capital City let a director who’s not even on the radar call the shots?"

"You know me?"

"Heh... filmed ten movies, two TV series, nine of those movies flopped, one hasn’t even premiered yet, one TV series was taken down for plagiarism, and one didn’t even pass the review board—Director He, it’s hard for people not to know about you!"

Director He turned green at these words.

Humiliation, what a big humiliation!

"Hmph, what do you know, you foul woman?" Director He argued desperately, "It’s clearly because a bunch of philistines didn’t appreciate my work. I film war movies, record history; they are the most meaningful. But a bunch of fools who only care about looks wouldn’t understand a damn thing!"

"Don’t bring shame to war films. Ten movies with nine failures, and you dare to boast?"
