Anning’s outburst truly shocked the whole family.

"Lao Si, what are you doing?"

Liu Dalian quickly went to stop Anning: "Why are you hitting your sister, put down the broom, don’t hit anymore..."

Even Wu Shuhua was too frightened to cry.

She got up and said, "In-law, I have something at home, I’ll leave first then."

Because of this, no family dared to take her in. The Pei family had no choice but to take in a son-in-law, an honest but poor man with many brothers, just to serve Pei Anxian.

The Second Sister, Pei Anjing, perhaps read too many romance novels and constantly fantasized about marrying some domineering CEO or gentle nobleman, without any skills, just dreaming. After getting married, she was always troubling Second Brother-in-law, forcing him to be both financially supportive and romantic. Additionally, there was a younger aunt at home, Pei Yu.

This Pei Yu was even more of a character. While Pei Anyi pretended, Pei Yu didn’t even bother. She was inherently flirtatious, having multiple boyfriends even in middle school. After graduating, she didn’t continue her studies and spent every day in relationships.

When Pei Anyi found men, it was to get food and clothes, and she would even bring some home so the family could benefit. Pei Yu, on the other hand, just wanted to enjoy herself. Among the women in the Pei family, only Anning turned out relatively okay, but she was dragged down by her three sisters and little aunt. When women heard she was the Fourth Daughter of the Pei Family, they dared not get close; men just wanted to see if she was like her little aunt, wanting to take advantage.

Even with all this, they liked eating, wearing fancy outfits, liked men—Anning could fulfill this. If irritated, they’d curse without sparing anyone.

Like the Eldest, Pei Anxian, recently when an uncle from a different branch of the family came to borrow a shovel, he accidentally snagged on a piece of clothing that Pei Anxian had hung in the yard, dirtying one of her outer garments. Seeing this, she paid no mind to whether he was an uncle and cursed his ancestors fiercely, almost causing him to faint.

Afterward, it was only Anning who found out about this and forced Pei Anxian to apologize to that uncle, sincerely admitting her wrongs, preventing the family from cutting ties. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

And today, the reason Wu Shuhua came to the Pei family to cause trouble was entirely due to Pei Anjing’s mischief.

Pei Anjing had been married for over six months and recently found out she was pregnant. "Eldest Sister, go lie down in your room."

Anning glanced at Pei Anxian and pointed to her room. Pei Anxian complied and obediently went in.

Anning then looked at Pei Anjing: "You too, go lie down. If you come out to fight and cause trouble again, see how I deal with you."

Pei Anjing, frightened, shrank her neck: "I’ll lie down, but I’m not going back to my in-laws."

"We’ll discuss it when Second Brother-in-law arrives," Anning left this remark and then said to Liu Dalian: "Mom, go make dinner."

Pei Anxian immediately said: "Mom, I want to eat meat, braised pork."

Anning glared at her: "Why not just braise you?"

Pei Anxian hastily waved her hand in fear: "Never mind, I won’t eat, I won’t eat."

"Cook millet porridge and make some vegetables, use less oil. Eldest Sister ate too much meat days ago, eat some greens to cleanse the stomach."

Anning instructed Liu Dalian.
