Chapter 765: Chapter 765: Stunning the Entire Audience (5)

"The power of the people is invincible! The students of Veridia University are the best! The Chief Instructor is the handsomest!" the students of Veridia University shouted in unison.

Vera Xavier had been speechless when she first heard Sheldon Caldwell teach the students this slogan. ’Other than during training,’ she thought, ’Sheldon Caldwell’s vibe is always completely off!’

Nathaniel Nathan’s face darkened the moment he heard it. ’Vera has never praised me like that, and now she’s being forced by Sheldon Caldwell to cheer for *him*!’

’Once this competition is over, I’m going to teach Sheldon Caldwell a good lesson. That brat is getting way too arrogant!’

Sheldon Caldwell snuck a glance at Nathaniel Nathan’s expression on the main platform and was instantly satisfied. ’I’ll probably never get a chance to beat Nathaniel in this lifetime anyway,’ he thought. ’So I might as well win by annoying the hell out of him.’

Skylar Crowe’s university had only placed fifth in the first round’s overall score. Her hatred for Vera Xavier had extended to Veridia University as a whole. ’To be honest,’ she thought, ’I never expected them to be this strong.’

’But the first round was just a team event,’ she reasoned. ’It doesn’t show anyone’s true skill. The real competition comes later.’

The second round was marksmanship. Three top students were chosen from each team to participate in the co-ed event. Each person would fire five rounds, with the total score based on the ring count.

The three students selected from Veridia University were Vera Xavier, Shane Caldwell, and another male student.

Vera Xavier had demonstrated exceptional skill in marksmanship from the very beginning. Even though she had never handled a weapon before the military training, for some unknown reason, the moment she did, she felt as if she and the weapon had become one.

Shane Caldwell, on the other hand, had previous marksmanship training due to his family’s connections, so his skills were also excellent.

The other male student was also naturally talented. His skill level was slightly below Shane Caldwell’s, and he consistently scored eights and nines during practice.

As the selected students stepped forward, Vera Xavier realized that very few girls had been chosen for the marksmanship event. Out of twenty universities, there were only three female participants, including herself.

With so few girls participating, she immediately spotted a familiar face as she stepped forward: Skylar Crowe.

Skylar Crowe shot her a challenging smirk, her eyes full of ice. It looked as though she was ready to settle all their scores, new and old.

Vera Xavier’s eyes narrowed. She knew all too well about the relationship between Skylar Crowe and Susan Caldwell. ’Looks like Skylar plans to use this competition to get revenge for Susan,’ she thought.

With a single command, the competition officially began. Twenty targets were set up, and all the contestants would compete simultaneously.

The first to compete from Veridia University was the male student Vera didn’t recognize. He appeared quite calm and steady. He fired his five rounds, scoring a ten, a nine, two eights, and a seven. It was his best result since training began—he had surpassed his usual performance.

The second to go was Shane Caldwell. He scored one ten, two nines, and two eights, a result that was a bit better than the previous student’s.

When it was Vera Xavier’s turn, Shane Caldwell said softly, "Good luck!"

Vera Xavier gave him a confident smile, took the weapon from his hand, and walked onto the shooting range. She then proceeded to hit five perfect tens!
