Chapter 733: Chapter 733: A Debt of Love (3)

Vera Xavier bit her lip and glanced around. Seeing no one, she looped her arm around Nathaniel Nathan’s neck in a flash and planted ten quick kisses on his lips.

Although Nathaniel Nathan was a little surprised by her actions, he was in high spirits and didn’t stop her.

After she was done kissing him, she looked at him and said, "Men who are too overbearing lose women’s hearts!"

She considered it a friendly reminder, but she had no confidence he would actually take it to heart.

But Nathaniel Nathan said, "I can be even more overbearing, you know. Want to see for yourself?"

Vera Xavier instantly deflated. ’Sure enough, there’s no reasoning with him.’

However, Nathaniel Nathan had no intention of letting her off that easily. He looked at her and said, "So, what’s the deal with that Damian Yale?"

Vera Xavier knew that with his personality, asking this question right now clearly meant he was up to no good. She gave a slight pout, looked at him, and asked, "I’m a pretty great person, aren’t I? Outstanding, even?"

"You’re average," Nathaniel Nathan said nonchalantly.

Vera Xavier took a deep breath. "If I’m just ’average,’ then why are you always trying to kiss me and sleep with me? Nathaniel Nathan, I’ll give you one chance to rephrase that!"

Nathaniel Nathan found her puffed-up cheeks amusing. The more he got to know her, the more interesting sides to her personality he discovered. He decided he should probably placate her a bit, so he said, "Alright, you’re great."

Vera Xavier let out a soft "hmph." "That’s more like it! If I’m great, that means I’m outstanding. And since I’m so outstanding, it’s only natural for guys to admire me. It’s a perfectly normal thing! That Damian Yale is just one of my many admirers, just like you’re outstanding and have plenty of admirers, too!"

She felt her argument had surely scored her a point and was beginning to feel quite smug.

But with a single sentence, Nathaniel Nathan shot her triumphant mood right down. "I’m sure I have plenty of admirers, but I’ve never bothered to learn their names. You, on the other hand, actually remember theirs. Vera Xavier, that’s a kind of betrayal, you know. The only way to soothe the hurt you’ve caused me is with a hundred kisses."

Vera Xavier stared at his handsome, almost ascetic face and suddenly felt like she’d been had. ’This guy... his brain definitely isn’t wired like a normal person’s!’

Worst of all, his rebuttal had somehow left her completely speechless!

She took a deep breath and said, "And why should I believe that you don’t know the names of your own admirers?"

"Oh, that’s simple. If you feel I’ve hurt your feelings, too, then I don’t mind kissing you one hundred times," Nathaniel Nathan said with a perfectly straight face.

"Stop!" Vera Xavier had always considered herself pretty smart, but whenever she dealt with him, she felt like she came up short. ’Damn it! He talked in such a huge circle, and he actually managed to trap me in his own twisted logic!’

’I can never, ever argue with him about things like this again,’ she thought. ’I’m never a match for him.’ Even though the perfect image she’d once had of him had long since shattered, his behavior was still so cringeworthy she could barely watch.

Seeing her expression, Nathaniel Nathan reached out to playfully tap her nose, then gently ruffled her hair. "From now on," he said, "you’re forbidden from remembering any man’s name but mine. For every name you remember, that’s a hundred kisses for me."
