The Boys: Viltrumite Evolution Panel
Chapter 234 There is a world where everyone loves Homelander unconditionally.
"If you let your precious son hear that, he’ll go back to biting his blanket and crying on the bed again!" Lucas teased.
Soldier Boy let out a loud laugh.
"There is actually some real business I’m looking for you for."
Lucas floated cross-legged in the air and said, "You know Butcher, right? He’s been quite mighty lately, getting his hands on a super virus specifically targeting Compound V. I need you to investigate the origin of the virus and bring back a sample!"
"As for Butcher himself, kill him if you can; there’s no need to leave him alive anymore!"
Soldier Boy paused, raised an eyebrow, and said, "I’ve heard of that kind—it turned several kids from the Bureau of Superpowers into bloody water. Guardian, asking me to investigate the virus, you aren’t treating me as a disposable consumable, are you?"
Lucas said, "Your metaphor techniques are even worse than I imagined, but to be honest, my tolerance is quite broad; someone like you doesn’t cut it..."
Soldier Boy directly raised his middle finger: "Fuck you!"
"Wear a gas mask when carrying out the mission, though the virus most likely won’t work on you anyway," Lucas added. "You are a test subject of the original Compound V. The potency from the older generation was high, causing your genetic structure to be different from the watered-down modern ones. This virus won’t kill you."
Soldier Boy flicked the ash from his cigarette: "Is the news reliable?"
"Of course it’s reliable. You won’t die."
Soldier Boy exhaled a mouthful of thick smoke and nodded: "Fine, give me three days."
When Soldier Boy said three days, it meant three days.
Lucas never doubted his ability.
Just on this point, he was much better than Homelander, whose intelligence performance was far too unstable.
After giving instructions to Soldier Boy, Lucas turned and left.
He intended to wrap up this business in The Boys World and then prepare to initiate the next World transition. It was time to return to the Invincible World; how many years had it been since he went back.
The Viltrumite needed their daddy!
...
Three days later, deep inside the abandoned factory.
Soldier Boy led several newly-minted Meta-humans under Vought, smashed open the factory gates, and cornered Butcher, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie, and the others into a dead end!
Hughie did not participate in the battle.
He was busy with The Foundation’s affairs all day, and neither Frenchie nor Butcher notified this little brother.
Perhaps this was also Butcher’s last shred of conscience.
"Butcher! Your game is over!" Soldier Boy dragged a heavy shield and approached step by step.
Seeing that The Boys were about to be completely wiped out.
Fragments of memories flashed extremely quickly before Butcher’s eyes, and then he let out a wild laugh: "Mother’s Milk! Frenchie! Go! Hurry up and go!"
Butcher shoved his companion away, pulled a vial from his chest, and pressed it fiercely against his vein. That was a vial of high-purity Temporary Compound V!
Lucas had previously instructed Hughie to let a portion of the Temporary Compound V leak out.
However, it wasn’t the new version of Temporary Compound V, but simply those crude, inferior products.
Injecting too much would turn one into Tumorman.
"Go to hell with me, you Meta-human scum!"
Butcher’s eyes burst with Heat Vision as he grappled with Soldier Boy, but Soldier Boy’s close-quarters combat ability was far stronger than Butcher’s.
Relying on Temporary Compound V, Butcher was no match for Soldier Boy at all. After dozens of rounds, he was knocked to the ground by Soldier Boy with a single shield bash.
"Any last words?"
Soldier Boy raised his shield high.
The moment it was about to smash down, a flash of cruel light crossed Butcher’s eyes. Using his last bit of strength, he fiercely smashed the sealed container on his chest, which sealed the super virus inside.
"Tough guy... let’s die together!"
The colorless virus in the air began to spread to the surroundings.
Before Soldier Boy could react, those Meta-humans he brought didn’t even have time to scream before bleeding from their seven orifices on the spot, their internal organs rapidly festering and turning into pools of foul-smelling bloody water.
Butcher himself was not spared either.
Temporary Compound V was still Compound V. Under the erosion of the virus, his eyes festered, streaming two trails of bloody tears as he collapsed to the ground, on the verge of death.
Soldier Boy had thought he was fine, but then he felt an itch in his throat, and looking through the factory glass, he saw pustules erupting all over his skin.
"Guardian... you... son of a bitch..." Soldier Boy cursed his last sentence through gritted teeth and directly passed out.
He still thought Lucas had lied to him.
Lucas arrived at the scene and glanced at Soldier Boy on the ground. After the pustules on Soldier Boy’s body multiplied to a certain amount, the original Compound V inside his body took effect.
Those pustules receded at a speed visible to the naked eye. It wouldn’t be long before Soldier Boy could recover as before.
Lucas directly woke Soldier Boy up.
"What am I... Fuck you! Guardian, you said the virus wouldn’t affect me!"
Lucas pressed down on Soldier Boy’s head, forcibly turning it around to let him look at the glass himself.
"The original Compound V in your body takes a certain amount of time to clear out the virus reaction. I didn’t lie to you!"
Soldier Boy watched the pustules on his skin recede bit by bit, quickly recovering into a ruffianly handsome hunk.
But Butcher wasn’t so lucky.
"What about this guy? He released the virus; it won’t spread to the whole World, will it?" Soldier Boy hooked Butcher with his foot. Butcher’s heartbeat had completely stopped.
Even if Private Angel came over to sit on him, it would be impossible to bring him back to life.
"You certainly reminded me!"
Lucas could see the virus drifting in the air. These viruses were like alien spacecraft, with very small and exquisite structures, but this thing didn’t stay in the air for long. It was estimated that at most it would spread a few kilometers in radius before decaying on its own.
No matter how fierce the virus was, it still needed a host.
Lucas gently blew a breath toward that cluster of virus mist, duplicating the virus tens of trillions of times out of thin air, spreading them to the entire America and even every corner of Earth.
Before the virus took full effect, he allowed all Meta-humans who had never done bad things to adapt and survive.
Including Ryan.
But the others weren’t so lucky.
Worldwide, Meta-humans who had taken Compound V almost simultaneously began bleeding from their seven orifices and suffering from skin ulceration, falling into pools of blood one after another.
Meanwhile, Homelander, far away in his mansion, had just poured a glass of red wine when two streams of black blood abruptly flowed from his nostrils.
"Th-This... What is going on?"
Homelander’s eyes bulged, his vision instantly blurring into a mess. Under the attack of the toxins, the Compound V molecular chains inside his body disintegrated inch by inch. He screamed as he crashed heavily to the ground, convulsing in agony.
The void rippled, and Lucas appeared out of thin air beside Homelander.
He did not rescue Homelander, but merely flicked his fingertips, sending out a stream of divine power to plunge Homelander into a permanent slumber.
Then, from the timeline, he obtained a vial of original Compound V.
He finished injecting Homelander directly.
Of course he wouldn’t let Homelander die directly; there was another World that needed Homelander to save it.
There, everyone would love him and unconditionally support him!
