Chapter 258: I Only Want Mommy Sienna

Skylar’s face turned red after hearing his grandmother’s words. Before looking at her, however, he cast a cold glance at Jessica, his small face unusually serious.

"Granny, I don’t want another mommy," he said in a polite but firm voice. "I only want Mommy Sienna. She’s my only mom."

His simple words seemed to freeze everyone around them.

Sienna stood there in stunned silence. She had been hurt by everything that had happened since Jessica and the older woman entered the shop, but hearing Skylar defend her without hesitation warmed her heart. He hadn’t been confused or frightened into staying quiet. Instead, he had spoken up for her with complete sincerity.

A moment later, Skylar walked straight toward her.

Sienna immediately bent down and opened her arms. The little boy wrapped his arms around her without hesitation, and she held him tightly, gently rubbing his back as if reassuring both him and herself that everything would be alright.

"Thank you, sweetheart," she whispered softly. "Thank you for speaking up for Mommy."

Skylar hugged her a little tighter before looking up with worried eyes.

"Mommy, please call Daddy," he said quietly. "Daddy can explain everything to Granny."

His voice became even softer as he added, "And... I don’t like that aunty. She hurt my wrist."

Sienna’s expression immediately changed. She gently pulled away just enough to take his small hand into hers.

"Let Mommy see."

She carefully turned his wrist over. The skin was slightly red where Jessica had grabbed him earlier. It wasn’t a serious injury, but seeing even that small mark was enough to stir the anger she had been forcing herself to suppress since the confrontation began.

She took a slow breath, trying to remain calm.

"Sweetheart," she said gently, smiling at him despite everything, "could you close your eyes and cover your ears for Mommy?"

Skylar blinked in confusion.

"Why?"

"Because Mommy needs to handle something, and I don’t want you to worry."

He studied her face for a moment before nodding obediently. He squeezed his eyes shut and covered his ears with both hands, trusting her completely.

After making sure he couldn’t see, Sienna slowly stood and turned toward Jessica.

Jessica took a step forward, her expression filled with anger.

"Hey, you, give that little boy to—"

Before she could finish her sentence, Sienna closed the distance between them and swung her hand across Jessica’s face.

Smack!

The sharp sound of Sienna’s slap echoed throughout the shop.

Jessica stumbled backward from the force of the slap. Her baseball cap flew off and landed on the floor while her hair fell loose around her shoulders. She remained frozen for several seconds, too shocked to react.

When she finally regained her composure, she glared at Sienna with burning anger, one hand pressed against her reddened cheek.

"You bitch!" she screamed. "How dare you slap me?"

Sienna didn’t even spare her a glance.

Instead, she looked at the older woman. She could clearly see the shock written across her mother-in-law’s face, but at that moment, Sienna no longer cared whether this woman accepted her or not. All she cared about was protecting her son. No one had the right to grab him so roughly or accuse her of kidnapping her own child.

Holding Skylar’s hand once again, she spoke in a calm, respectful voice.

"Ma’am, I’m sorry that we met under these circumstances. I understand why you’re shocked to see Sky with me, and I know this situation must be confusing. But before saying anything else, I suggest you speak with Zachary first. He can explain everything, and I believe you’ll understand the truth."

The older woman frowned deeply.

She opened her mouth as though she wanted to respond, but no words came out. She simply stared at Sienna, her expression caught somewhere between confusion and disbelief.

Sienna gave her a small, polite nod.

"I’ll take my leave now. Have a good day, Ma’am."

Without waiting for another response, she gently guided Skylar beside her. And then both mother and son walked past the two women before leaving the shop.

They had only walked a short distance when Jessica’s furious voice rang out behind them.

"Hey! You! Stop right there! How dare you slap me?"

Sienna didn’t stop walking.

"You deserved that slap," she replied calmly without turning around.

Her voice remained steady, but her grip on Skylar’s hand tightened ever so slightly. She didn’t want him to feel frightened, so she kept her pace even and composed.

A few moments later, several men hurried toward them.

Sienna immediately recognized them as the bodyguards assigned to protect Skylar and her.

One of them bowed his head apologetically.

"Madam, we’re very sorry. We thought Madam had simply met your mother-in-law, so we didn’t expect any problems. That’s why we didn’t step in."

Sienna closed her eyes briefly before letting out a quiet breath.

"It’s okay. I understand," she answered calmly. Although the anger inside her hadn’t completely faded, she refused to let it control her. There were more important things to deal with first.

Looking at the bodyguards, she gave her instructions in an even tone.

"Please make sure no one recorded what happened or uploads it to social media. If anyone took a video, handle it immediately. Also, call Logan and let him know I’ll be at the sushi restaurant on the third floor."

"Yes, Madam."

The men immediately nodded and hurried off to carry out her instructions.

Sienna gently squeezed Skylar’s hand before continuing toward the escalator at her usual pace. She wanted to put as much distance as possible between them and the unpleasant encounter, while giving both a chance to calm down.

After walking for a while, Skylar looked up at her, his voice small and hesitant.

"Mommy... my lens."

Sienna paused briefly before realizing he was no longer carrying the shopping bag from the camera store.

She smiled reassuringly and gently stroked his hair.

"It’s alright, sweetheart. We’ll go back for it later. The store staff will keep it safe for us, so you don’t have to worry."

Skylar searched her face for a moment, then gave a small nod.

"Alright, Mom."

Seeing that he had relaxed again, Sienna smiled softly. She continued holding his hand as they walked toward the sushi restaurant together, silently hoping the rest of the day would be much kinder to her little boy than the past few minutes had been.
