Chapter 240: You Are His Weakness!

"You know about the news that spread online a few days ago, don’t you?" Zoey asked.

Sienna gave a small nod. Of course she knew. It had been impossible to ignore. The rumors had spread quickly, dragging her name into public discussion and forcing her to relive a painful part of her past.

Zoey folded her arms and continued in a calm but firm voice.

"If those rumors continue to spread and my brother’s enemies discover who you are, they’ll use you to attack him. People in his position always have rivals waiting for an opportunity. The moment they find a weakness, they’ll take advantage of it."

She paused briefly before adding, "That’s why you should resign before things get worse. What happened between you and Benjamin Foster is far too complicated. Once people start digging into your past, they won’t stop until they’ve turned it into a weapon against Zach."

Sienna slowly lowered her gaze, her hands tightening into fists once again.

As much as she hated to admit it, Zoey wasn’t entirely wrong.

Zachary’s position came with powerful competitors, and she knew how ruthless the business world could be. If his rivals learned about her past with Benjamin Foster, they would almost certainly use it to damage Zachary’s reputation, question his judgment, and create trouble for both of them.

The thought unsettled her, and for the first time since entering the room, she found herself unable to dismiss Zoey’s words so easily.

Sienna silently gritted her teeth before slowly lifting her head to meet Zoey’s gaze once again.

For a long moment, neither of them spoke. They simply looked at each other across the table, each seemingly lost in her own thoughts. The silence between them no longer felt like a test of patience but like a quiet battle of determination. Neither woman looked away, and neither was willing to back down first.

After another moment, Sienna finally broke the silence.

"I understand what you mean," she said softly. Although her voice remained calm, it carried quiet determination. "But as the CEO of this company, you can’t force me to resign like this."

Zoey’s expression remained composed as she listened. Unlike before, there was no obvious anger on her face. Instead, she spoke in a softer tone, though the confidence in her words never wavered.

"You’re mistaken, Sienna. I’m not forcing you," Zoey said, a faint smile tugging at her lips as she continued. "I’m only making a suggestion because, honestly, I know my brother better than anyone. He would never ask you to resign from your job. He already chose you, and he will ignore anything, even if you are his weakness!" ℴ

Sienna found herself momentarily speechless. She couldn’t deny Zoey’s words.

From the beginning, Zachary had never once asked her to quit working at the hotel. Instead, he had always encouraged her to continue doing what she enjoyed. He respected her independence and never tried to control her decisions, even after they got married. Whenever she spoke about work, he listened patiently and supported her without hesitation.

Remembering those moments made her heart feel unexpectedly heavy.

Zoey watched the subtle change in Sienna’s expression before a faint, knowing smile appeared on her lips. "It seems..." she said almost playfully, "...my guess was right."

Sienna looked back at her. She knew exactly what Zoey meant. She had unintentionally confirmed that Zachary had never asked her to leave the company.

Even so, she had no intention of admitting anything else. She simply met Zoey’s gaze in silence, refusing to reveal more than she already had.

The quiet stretched between them once again, but this time it wasn’t as tense as before. Zoey seemed satisfied with everything she had learned, while Sienna no longer saw any reason to continue the conversation.

Finally, Zoey leaned back in her seat and offered Sienna a warm smile, one that looked much friendlier than the cold expression she had worn when the meeting began.

"All right, I won’t take up any more of your time, Sienna," she said. "I will give you one week to think everything over. If you decide to resign, just contact my secretary, and she will take care of the rest."

Sienna remained silent for a moment. She had no answer to give because she hadn’t made a decision.

Zoey’s words had given her a great deal to think about. Although part of her disliked being told what to do, another part couldn’t ignore the possibility that Zoey’s concerns were genuine. If staying at the company truly put Zachary at greater risk. She couldn’t simply dismiss the conversation as nothing more than an attempt to drive her away.

Without saying another word, Sienna gave Zoey a polite nod before turning toward the door.

As soon as she stepped outside the office, the quiet hallway felt strangely comforting after the tense conversation. She walked toward the elevator at an unhurried pace, but her thoughts were anything but calm.

Everything Zoey had said continued to echo in her mind, leaving her emotions tangled between frustration, confusion, and concern.

She didn’t know whether Zoey had spoken only as a protective sister or as the company’s CEO. Still, either way, the conversation had left a lasting impression.

When the elevator doors closed behind her, her cell phone suddenly vibrated inside her pocket.

She immediately took it out and looked at the screen.

Zachary’s name appeared.

For a brief moment, she stared at it, feeling as though fate had chosen the perfect timing. After everything that had happened, there was only one person she wanted to talk to.

"I need to discuss this with him," she whispered softly before answering the call.

"Hello, Honey..." She greeted him immediately with her usual cheerfulness, trying to hide her restless heart.

However, Zachary knew her better and sensed something was wrong as he asked, "Are you all right?"

Sienna was taken aback. She started to wonder if Zachary had a spy in Zoey’s office, but she dismissed the thought right away.

She smiled as if Zachary were right in front of her. "Of course, I’m fine. Why wouldn’t I?"
