The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1403 - 1343: I’m Angry
Rolls-Royce ROYALE, Abyanabad, Queen, the elegantly dressed man just now seemed to be speaking the Amwan language... a bold guess began to form in James Winslow’s mind.
James Winslow stood by the roadside, took out his phone and searched for pictures of the Abyanabad Royal Family. When he saw the photo of the Sultan of Abyanabad, everything became clear to him.
A woman so beautiful naturally couldn’t marry an ordinary man.
"I can’t believe I actually got to see the Sultan and Queen of Abyanabad..." James Winslow said self-mockingly.
Paige Desmond is the Queen of Abyanabad, so President Johnson’s husband, Adrian Desmond, isn’t ordinary either.
James Winslow was just curious why, if Adrian’s sister is the Queen of Abyanabad, would he marry into the Johnson Family.
If not for money, then it must be... love!
...
The Rolls-Royce ROYALE smoothly cruised down the road. Kiya, hoping her daughter would sleep peacefully, specially instructed Gavin to drive a bit slower.
Erya was asleep, quietly lying in Kiya’s arms, and no matter how much Kiya looked, she couldn’t get enough of her.
It was particularly quiet in the car, with only Dylan speaking.
After all, they were father and son, connected by blood, an unbreakable bond.
Paige Desmond never told her son about what the Queen Mother did; she didn’t want him facing such ugly things at such a young age.
No matter how much Paige disliked, even despised, that woman, she was still Dylan’s grandmother, his revered father’s mother.
"Daddy, why haven’t you called me lately?" Dylan asked.
Kiya, holding Erya in her arms, had been reluctant to hand her over to Paige Desmond; her gaze moved from her daughter to Dylan’s face, and she smiled,
"Daddy’s been too busy lately. Dylan, have you missed Daddy?"
"I have," Dylan replied without hesitation.
"Daddy misses you all too." Especially misses... Paige Desmond!
Kiya’s gaze turned left, and he saw the woman sitting there, holding her chin, looking at the street view outside as if the scenery was so enchanting, she didn’t even bother to say a word to him.
Winter in Sileria City was particularly dull, nothing but gray and white... unlike Abyanabad, with picturesque scenery year-round.
Kiya knew Paige Desmond wasn’t really looking at the scenery; she just didn’t want to talk to him.
"Daddy, how long are you staying in Sileria City this time?"
Before Kiya could answer, Dylan eagerly said, "Daddy, stay here until after the New Year. Uncle bought lots of fireworks. He said on New Year’s Eve, we will go to Cloudscape Mansion to set them off."
"..."
"Curly and I overheard that Uncle actually wanted to spend a world of two with Aunt, but Aunt didn’t want to... Luckily Aunt didn’t want to, otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to see the fireworks."
Perhaps because he saw his father, Dylan talked a lot.
"Daddy, can you stay for the Lunar New Year?"
"Well..." Kiya was truly very busy; he feared he didn’t have that much time.
Seeing his father troubled, Dylan sensibly said, "If Daddy doesn’t have time, then it’s okay."
"I have time!" Even if he didn’t have time, he’d make time; no one was more important than his wife and kids.
"That’s great," Dylan said happily.
"..."
"Mommy, Daddy can stay to celebrate the New Year with us. Aren’t you happy?" Dylan asked his always silent mother.
Paige Desmond smiled at him and said, "Dylan, you’re especially talkative today."
Dylan joyfully said, "Because Daddy is back."
"..."
"Daddy is back, so Dylan is happy. Isn’t Mommy happy?"
Paige Desmond cryptically said, "Mommy is happy every day staying here."
Kiya felt particularly uneasy in his heart. Dylan was very happy in Sileria City, but seldom smiled when back at the Imperial Palace, and Paige Desmond was always worried.
"Dylan is also very happy every day staying here."
Looking at his father, Dylan muttered softly, "It would be great if Daddy also stayed here."
Kiya felt even more bitterness, a sour taste,
The roadsides had piled snow, all the leaves had fallen, with snow still hanging on the branches, offering a unique charm to the northern snow scene.
More than half an hour later, the car drove into the Johnson Family’s garage.
Gavin got out of the car and opened the door for Paige Desmond. She thanked him and got out, and Kiya followed, with Erya still asleep, Paige Desmond didn’t disturb her.
Dylan said, "Daddy, I have something to find Curly for. I’ll go first."
Paige Desmond called out, "Take it slow, don’t run."
"I know." Yet Dylan didn’t stop; the ground was a bit slippery, which caused him to stumble, and finding it amusing, he deliberately slid a few steps on the smooth ground, disappearing from Kiya’s sight.
Kiya knew Paige Desmond’s residence well, carrying his daughter and heading over purposefully.
With talkative Dylan gone, the two of them had nothing left to say.
The Johnson Family was still full of snow, very cold, and Kiya, having just arrived from the warm tropics, was wearing very little, while Paige Desmond, in a thick knee-length down coat, hat, and scarf, still felt cold, and Kiya only wore a shirt and a dark woolen overcoat.
It’s cold outside, but warm inside the room.
Once inside, the heat hit them, and Paige Desmond took off her thick down coat, changed out of her long boots, and walked to her daughter’s crib to make the bed.
"Put Erya on the bed."
"I’m not tired."
Paige Desmond frowned slightly; she didn’t care if he was exhausted carrying her daughter, she was concerned for her child, "If you hold her while she sleeps, she won’t be comfortable. Put Erya down."
Kiya glanced at his daughter and then reluctantly placed her in the crib. Erya was in a deep sleep, not even opening her eyes.
Paige Desmond covered her with a small quilt, left the nursery, and returned to the bedroom, with Kiya trailing behind.
Kiya followed her in silently, leaning against the wall, his gaze always tracking Paige Desmond as she entered the closet to change clothes, disappearing from his sight.
Feeling stifled, inexplicably knotted and pained, Kiya lit a cigarette, with Paige Desmond able to smell it from the closet.
"Please put out the cigarette, or take it outside!" Paige Desmond came out and said unceremoniously.
Kiya reluctantly extinguished the cigarette.
"Why did you suddenly come over?" Paige Desmond asked.
Kiya said nothing.
Paige Desmond couldn’t stand his brooding demeanor, "I want to rest for a while. Can you leave?"
Kiya looked at her, walked over, and suddenly extended his long arm to pull her into his embrace, "I’m angry!" Kiya suddenly said.
"Angry? Angry about what?"
"How could you be so close to other men? You smile at him, and now you don’t even smile at me..."
Paige Desmond sneered and said, "If your father almost got you killed, I think you wouldn’t be able to smile at me either!"
"..."
"Angry? What right do you have to be angry? Right now, we’re not married, I could do whatever I want with other men, and it’s none of your business!"
