The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1370 - 1310: Let Her Go
Gavin and Gary, the two brothers, stepped forward to help, but Marion directly blocked them, warning, "The matter between Sixth Master and the Sultan, you should not interfere!"
Marion was also on high alert; if they dared to act, Marion wouldn’t hold back.
"We will not allow anyone to offend the Sultan!" Gavin was about to act but was stopped by Kiya.
"Don’t interfere!" Kiya shouted.
Kiya wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and said, "It’s not convenient here, let’s go out to fight!"
Adrian Desmond took out a napkin, wiped Kiya’s blood from his hand, looked at the defeated opponent, and said, "I’m not interested in fighting you; get out of my way!"
The two were already at odds because of Paige.
"Adrian, can you wait a bit? Once Paige recovers, as long as she’s willing to go back to Sileria City with you, I won’t stop her, but before she recovers, please let me take care of her, okay?
Just for a chance at redemption, I really don’t feel assured of her going back to Sileria City in this state." Kiya pleaded with Adrian in a sorrowful voice.
Adrian remained unmoved and asked, "Have you thought about it? If Paige knows the truth, would she be willing to be cared for by the son of a murderer?"
Adrian’s words struck Kiya heavily in the heart, leaving Kiya speechless, his eyes reddened, standing there.
This scandal was like a bomb; once detonated, he would be blown to pieces.
"Let’s go," Adrian said to the doctor.
The doctor pushed out the sleeping Paige, and this time Kiya didn’t stop them, only gazing greedily at her until she left the ward.
At that moment, Kiya felt his heart empty.
Gavin looked at Kiya’s desolate appearance and cautiously asked, "Sultan, just let them take the Queen away like that? Aren’t you going to bring her back?"
Kiya pressed his lips into a straight line, walked towards the window, and kept staring at the hospital exit, seeing Paige being carefully placed into an ambulance, watching it leave... then pain inside him bit like ants, making it unbearable.
...
Kiya stayed in the ward all night, and early the next morning, Kiya looked haggard, his freshly shaved beard had grown back.
Gavin and Gary were standing guard outside, neither daring to go in and disturb him.
Gary asked, "Should we just snatch the Queen back?"
Gavin, with a cold expression, said, "Snatch what, snatch? Didn’t you see the Sultan also agreed for Adrian to take the Queen away?"
"But, look at the Sultan, he looks like he’s lost his soul... staying inside all night, you don’t think something might happen to him, do you?"
"Probably not..."
After a while, Gary said again, "What exactly is the Queen Mother thinking? How can she do such a thing? Even if she dislikes the Queen, it’s too much to send someone to kill the Queen."
Gavin knew a bit more than Gary; back then, the Queen Mother often committed such deeds, with a lot of blood on her hands. If the old Sultan wasn’t wary of the Queen Mother’s family, he would have disposed of her long ago.
"Stop discussing, this kind of matter is not for us to talk about!" Gavin reminded.
Gary nodded and said, "I know, I’m only discussing it with you, with others, I’ll definitely keep my mouth shut tightly."
...
At dawn, Kiya finally came out of the ward.
Gavin and Gary saw Kiya coming out, immediately stood up straight, and greeted him; Kiya nodded and strode out.
Gavin and Gary exchanged a glance and caught up with Kiya, both being extremely cautious, barely daring to breathe.
Kiya didn’t go to the office but went straight to the Imperial Palace, back to the place he shared with Paige.
Oni saw Kiya and was startled by the injuries on his face.
Oni hurriedly lowered her head, dared not to look around, she cried, speaking incoherently, "Sultan, the little Princess and little Prince are missing... in the morning, I went to make milk for the little Princess, and when I came back the little Princess was gone, then I found out the little Prince was also missing..."
"..."
"It’s all my fault, I didn’t watch them properly," Oni said, blaming herself.
The people disappeared right under her nose, Oni was responsible, feeling uneasy, not knowing how Kiya would punish her, but to her surprise, Kiya simply waved his hand, letting her leave.
Kiya walked into the bedroom, which still smelled of milk.
Usually, when he came back, he could see Paige and hear the children’s laughter, but now, everything was gone.
Kiya’s heart echoed the emptiness of the house.
He went to the side of the crib, where the little Princess should be lying, and a slight tease would elicit her smile, now it was empty...
Kiya touched it, the bedding was cold.
"Ella..."
They had just left, but Kiya missed them, the longing swelled like a tide, engulfing him entirely.
Gavin knocked on the door and said, "Sultan, the Queen Mother sent someone to ask you to come over."
Kiya looked towards the door, his expression paused; he hadn’t planned on facing the Queen Mother so soon.
Kiya put down the daughter’s favorite rattle toy, got up and walked out, only to see they’d sent Charlene to fetch him.
Charlene had been in high spirits with a full smile these past few days, thinking she had done things quietly, and with Paige’s death, the good days for her and her family were about to begin.
"Sultan, the Queen Mother heard you returned and wants you to come over for a meal. The Queen Mother has the kitchen prepare the breakfast you love..."
Charlene looked up, saw the injuries on Kiya’s face, and momentarily froze, then exclaimed, "Oh dear, Sultan, your face, what happened? Who dared to harm you? Who is so bold to actually injure you..."
Kiya looked at this old woman’s face, thinking she was an accomplice; just thinking that Paige nearly died, his anger surged, and he kicked out, striking her in the abdomen, knocking Charlene to the ground.
"Arrest her!" Kiya commanded.
He couldn’t harm the Queen Mother harshly but could treat Charlene mercilessly; since she dared to harm Paige, she should be prepared to bear his wrath.
Charlene was stunned, clutching her abdomen, asked, "Sultan, what are you doing?"
Gavin called the guard in, and two guards lifted the woman sprawled on the ground, dragging her outside.
Charlene was completely lost, yelling, "Sultan, what did I say wrong, what did I do wrong, tell me, I’ll change..."
Kiya said, "Because of the Queen!"
Charlene shut up immediately; when she was dragged to the door, she seemed to realize, shouting, "Sultan, it was the Queen Mother who ordered me, it has nothing to do with me... Sultan, please spare me, it was all the Queen Mother’s idea, I was just following orders..."
"..."
"Sultan, I am innocent."
