"So, don’t push me! You should know how fierce I can be. If you push me to the edge, I’ll do anything. Just like when I divorced Kiya!" Paige Desmond’s expression revealed a hint of ruthlessness and madness.

Looking at the Queen Dowager’s face turning crimson with anger, as if she wished to kill her, Paige suddenly felt elated.

Not getting back together with Kiya was the right choice; if they had reconciled and returned to the Imperial Palace, being bullied by this old witch, she would have certainly met an early death.

"Paige, you really have surprised me!" the Queen Dowager sneered; Paige was now completely unafraid of her.

"I’ve surprised myself too," Paige looked at the Queen Dowager and said, "I can’t understand how I’ve endured you, this old witch, for so many years."

"Old witch?" The Queen Dowager’s face twisted into a grimace.

Paige, however, laughed, "I’ve always wanted to call you that! Old witch!" Paige suddenly put away her smile and said, "Get out of my house, you and your son, both of you, get out!"

"Insolence!"

"Go back and tend to your son, I hear he’s seriously injured, haha..."

The Queen Dowager looked at the venomous woman before her, wondering how she could still smile after knowing Kiya was critically injured in a car accident, after all, they were once married.

"Do you even have a heart? Kiya has been so good to you, he’s gravely injured, and yet you feel no sadness?"

"Queen Dowager, you just said that I was merely his mistress. And what does a mistress do? Wining and dining with a man... At a time like this, it’s Gulit who should be grieving, not me, the mistress," Paige coldly replied.

"I feel Kiya’s love for you is unworthy! You are not deserving of it at all!"

Paige retorted angrily, "Then ask your son to stop coming here. Honestly, he annoys me too."

The Queen Dowager knew every little thing about her only son and was well aware that it was Kiya who couldn’t let go of Paige, persistently pestering her... Her son cared so much about this woman, and yet this woman cared so little for Kiya. They had only been divorced for a short time before she hooked up with another man.

"Paige, if anything happens to my son, I will never let you off!" The Queen Dowager directed her anger at Paige.

"My dear Queen Dowager, you’re always like this, thinking everything is my fault. I really don’t understand, how does your son’s car accident have anything to do with me!" Paige cursed.

The Queen Dowager yelled at her, "If he hadn’t come to see you, how could he have had a car accident?!"

"Did I ask him to come see me? Did I beg him to? Did I force him to?" Paige shouted back.

"..."

"Queen Dowager, once your son recovers, I ask you to keep an eye on him, so he doesn’t come to my home looking for me. To avoid anything happening to him again, which you’ll blame on me. None of you are people I can afford to offend."

"You sharp-tongued woman, I can’t outtalk you!... Once Kiya recovers, I will not let you see him again!"

Paige responded, "Couldn’t wish for more!"

The Queen Dowager took a deep breath, her sharp gaze fixed on the woman in front of her, and mockingly said, "If anything happens to Kiya, don’t think Dylan will become the Sultan and you can become the Queen Dowager."

Paige laughed and then shook her head, looking pitifully at the Queen Dowager, she said, "Becoming Sultan, my son Dylan really doesn’t care, just like I didn’t care to become a Princess Consort in the past."

Paige assured her, "Rest assured, my son will never become Sultan!"

"..."

"And you don’t have to worry about me wanting to become Queen Dowager, I really don’t care. Otherwise, when I divorced Kiya, I wouldn’t have burned all my bridges."

The Queen Dowager knew that this woman spoke the truth; what she desperately defended was completely worthless in her eyes.

"Queen Dowager, this is bad, the Sultan is gravely ill..." a guard came in to report to the Queen Dowager.

The Queen Dowager’s expression changed drastically upon hearing this, her eyes filled with panic and heartache. Paige saw it and thought, after all, she is just a mother too.

The Queen Dowager came in a rage to call her to account, and then she quickly left. Paige sat in a chair in the living room, utterly exhausted.

The television remained on, every channel live-broadcasting Kiya’s condition. Paige only knew that Kiya had been in a serious car accident and was in critical condition... He had been in surgery since entering the operating room, now it had already been three hours, and there was still no news.

During this time, Adrian Desmond called personally.

Sienna Johnson didn’t hide the news of Adrian’s awakening from Paige, firstly because Paige was Adrian’s younger sister and had the right to know, and secondly, because Paige kept secrets well and wouldn’t spread it around.

Adrian called to ask about the situation, "I heard Kiya was in a car accident, how is he now?"

"I don’t know." Lacking the haughtiness she had when speaking with the Queen Dowager, Paige’s voice was low and desolate.

"How could you not know?"

Kiya had often been visiting Desmond Manor lately, and there was no way Paige wouldn’t know.

"I’ve been trying to reach Gary and Gavin by Kiya’s side, but I can’t get through. The Queen Dowager just came and scolded me, implying it was my fault Kiya was hurt. If Kiya suffers, I’ll be in big trouble."

"Would she dare?"

Paige’s eyes turned red, her heart aching, and she said to her brother, "Kiya said someone wanted to kill him. I don’t know if the accident was an accident or intentional... When Kiya left, we had a fight, and I don’t know if that’s the reason."

"Do you really think you fighting with Kiya made him speed? Don’t forget, the Sultan has a driver, he wouldn’t be driving himself." Adrian comforted Paige, who was feeling down.

Being together for so many years, how could they not have feelings? Kiya having an accident must make Paige sad, especially since Kiya was also Dylan’s father.

"Brother, I don’t want anything to happen to Kiya..."

If something happened to Kiya, it wouldn’t be good for them, especially the Desmond Family.

Adrian asked, "Did Kiya say who wanted to kill him?"

"No."

"Did Kiya suspect anyone?"

"Kiya never mentioned anyone."

Adrian told Paige what he had just learned, "From what you’ve just said, I also think this accident is not so simple.

Kiya collided with a tanker truck, that section of road doesn’t allow large vehicles. After the collision, the tanker exploded, the driver was blown to pieces, and no evidence was left."

Paige thought it was just a regular car accident, never imagining it was so perilous, "Then how serious are Kiya’s injuries?"
