Chapter 750: Chapter 750- Cattles for Slaughter, the Powerful Sacred Sanctum

The battle had already begun. The Dawnbringers assaulted the demonic encampment from three directions: east, west, and south.

Explosions shook the wasteland as the three attacking forces smashed through the outer defenses and pushed deeper into the enemy camp.

As for the remaining northern side, it remained strangely quiet. It was the furthest point from the Dawnbringers’ position. For any unit to reach it, they would first need to circle around the enormous demonic encampment.

Such a large movement would immediately be noticed. The demons would have more than enough time to intercept them. It was not a feasible maneuver.

That said, the Dawnbringers’ plan required every escape route to be sealed. Their objective was not merely to breach the camp. They intended to herd the scattered Demonic Legions toward the center. That would be impossible if the northern gate remained open, providing an escape route for the enemies.

Thus, the task of attacking the demons’ camp from the northern side was taken by one man alone.

High above the northern side of the encampment, Reinhardt hovered silently in the sky. Two magnificent pairs of golden wings spread behind him. From his position, he could observe nearly the entire war.

The Dawnbringers were advancing steadily from the three gates. Heroes and Extreme Knights tore through the enemy lines while the Elite and High-ranking knights followed behind. Demonic formations were being broken apart and driven toward the center exactly as planned.

Reinhardt stood in the air without making a move. Although his eyes were observing the entire battlefield below, he was at the same time using a portion of his attention to monitor the northern gate.

So why had he not attacked yet?

The reason was simple: because he was waiting. Waiting for the enemy to reveal one of their most dangerous weapons. The Abyss Nests.

Other than the Heavenly Kings and the Horn of Calamity, capable of spreading countless curses, the Abyss Nests were the greatest threat on this battlefield. As long as even one remained active, it could continue producing demons without end.

Destroying the legions of demons would mean nothing if even one of the Abyss Nests still stood. Tens of thousands more would simply take their place.

Therefore, Reinhardt waited patiently above the northern gate, waiting for the Abyss Nests to appear and taking them all out in one go.

Of course, it was not as though Reinhardt had simply been watching from the sky. Right after the Dawnbringers launched their attack, he had already sent his Divine Summons into the battlefield.

At the eastern front, a small albino snake with opal eyes and golden wings, appearing like the cutest thing in the world, rode on Erza’s shoulder. This was Eidolon Seraphi’s main body.

When the battle began, she spread her countless clones throughout the battlefield, latching onto the knights, purifying the negative energy from their bodies and constantly healing them.

These little white things were extremely small and inconspicuous. Moreover, they could also camouflage. Once they latched onto the knights, the enemy wouldn’t even be able to notice their presence.

Although they possessed no offensive abilities or threat, their constant presence in the battlefield was enough to overturn the situation.

Of course, she wasn’t the only Divine Summon present on the battlefield.

Elsewhere, protected by Brutus, the Bloomkeeper slowly advanced across the corrupted wasteland. This stag, with a moss-covered ethereal body and glowing antlers, radiated powerful life energy.

With every step it took, glowing spores drilled out of the ground, turning into mushrooms, roots, and various other plants as they erupted from the blackened soil.

Vines spread, flowers bloomed. The land, which could bear no life, swiftly gave life. The vegetation proliferated at an unnatural speed, absorbing the demonic energy saturating the surroundings and converting it into pure natural vitality.

Wherever the Bloomkeeper passed, the dead earth gradually regained its color.

With Eidolon Seraphi and Bloomkeeper, these two strategic divine beasts overturning the status quo, the knights quickly gained the upper hand.

Even without personally entering the battle, Reinhardt’s presence could be felt everywhere. Especially through the knights he had trained.

Across the three fronts, the knights from the Temple of Light unleashed skills that were extremely powerful and broke the impasse one after another.

Holy Blade Arts tore through demonic formations. Pillars of light fell from the heavens, and large weapons made of light tore through the demons’ magic.

That was not all. Beastly roars echoed throughout the battlefield. One Divine Beast after another answered the summons of their contractors.

A massive silver wolf charged through the eastern gate. A golden-feathered roc descended upon the western wall. A colossal ice bear, a huge gorgon snake, celestial deer, and numerous other Divine Beasts fought beside the knights.

The knights of the Temple of Light of today were completely different from the order from a few years ago. They could now firmly be ranked among the top three knight orders of the kingdom of Solaris. Even when compared to the other knight orders of the other kingdoms, they were among the elites.

While observing their progress, Reinhardt suddenly noticed movement near the northern gate.

A small section of the Demonic Legion had separated from the main force. They moved cautiously through the shadows of the outer wall. Every member of the group was an elite demon. Leading them was a powerful Demon General covered in dark crimson armor.

They clearly intended to slip away while the Dawnbringers were occupied at the other three gates.

Reinhardt observed their movement for a while.

Not long afterward, another group emerged from the northern gate. This one was far more peculiar. Intense demonic energy radiated from their bodies, yet every member possessed an almost entirely human appearance.

Their skin was pale with stitches visible on their bodies. Their movements were unnatural, and their expressions remained empty.

Looking at them, it felt like they were living bodies but puppets controlled by something. What’s more, there was a violent and monstrous power compressed into their human-shaped bodies, waiting to break free.

This felt familiar.

Demonic Knight? No, they were different.

As he closely observed this group, he realized what it was.

Artificial Demons created through demonic markings.

No wonder it felt familiar. Then this bunch should be...

Just then, beneath them, something enormous moved underground. The earth rose and fell as it passed. Black veins spread through the soil in its wake. The flora created by Bloomkeeper withered before it could even approach closer.

Seeing this, Reinhardt’s brows furrowed. His divine senses penetrated deep beneath the earth. What he felt there caused his expression to become serious.

Rot, corruption... an insatiable hunger that consumed life and transformed it into demonic filth.

"A creature that travels underground and pollutes the land..."

In a way, it was similar to the Bloomkeeper. However, this abomination was purely created for war and corruption, as compared to the sacred beast that guarded the forests of the gods.

Realizing something, Reinhardt’s gaze sharpened.

"So that must be the Blightheart Colossus."

The Abomination was even more troublesome than Erza’s report had suggested.

However, Reinhardt’s attention soon shifted toward the man leading this group.

The instant he saw the man’s face, his pupils contracted.

A spotless white coat. Pale blond hair combed backward. A circular monocle filled with constantly rotating lenses.

The man had not changed at all from the wanted posters distributed throughout the Seven Kingdoms and all the other nations. It was like he hadn’t aged at all.

There was no possibility of mistaking him.

Doctor Victor Voss. The most wanted criminal in the world. Leader and chief scientist of the Organization.

"Hm?"

At that exact moment, he felt a disturbance. The disturbance came from the shadow beneath him. Although the movement was slight, almost unnoticeable. But Reinhardt immediately sensed the emotional turmoil hidden within it.

It was unlike her, who always followed him like his own shadow, guarding him from the darkness, to make such a novice mistake.

However, he understood why that was so.

Karina.

How could she remain calm after seeing that man? After all, she had once been one of the Organization’s experimental subjects. A failed product, according to their twisted standards. They had discarded her like worthless waste and left her to die.

When Reinhardt raided their base all that year ago, he inadvertently, or on a whim, decided to save her, thus changing her destiny.

He looked toward Victor’s departing figure. Feeling Karina’s emotional turmoil and killing intent, he spoke.

"That man is powerful."

The shadow beneath him became still.

Reinhardt smiled faintly.

"But with your current strength, you can defeat him."

Karina had grown tremendously over the past few years. She usually remained hidden within Reinhardt’s shadow and rarely displayed her strength before others. Because of that, it was easy to underestimate her.

Anyone who did so would receive a very unpleasant surprise. Karina was in fact more powerful than even Bob, the man closest to reaching the realm of Extreme Knight.

After a brief silence, Karina’s voice sounded inside his mind.

"Master, I want to defeat that man with my own hands."
