Chapter 425 - 137: Holy Light: Advent of the Silver Radiance Angel
Chapter 425: Chapter 137: Holy Light: Advent of the Silver Radiance Angel
Their clothing styles, and even their races, were a complete hodgepodge, forming a stark contrast with the uniform-clad students of the Imperial Capital Academy.
Among these students were tall and sturdy northerners, dark-skinned islanders covered in body paint, even a few long-eared Half-Elves, and a Half-Beastman with knotted muscles carrying a giant axe on his back.
What’s more, the students from Silver Moon Academy were numerous—a massive, sprawling crowd.
Leading this group was a tall Half-Elf named Ailendra Moon Language. She stood with her arms crossed, leaning lazily against a mooring bollard, surrounded by a number of elite students.
"Look at those gilded canaries from the Imperial Capital." The brawny Half-Beastman next to Ailendra Moon Language grinned, his tone thick with disdain. "Once we’re on the island, let’s see if their gold-inlaid magic staves can be used as fishing spears."
The third group consisted of students from Hurst Royal Academy.
They were also split into two factions. One was young and inexperienced, their faces a mixture of excitement and nervousness from being so far from home for the first time. They chattered away, discussing the bustling prosperity of Silver Moon Port.
They were underclassmen, here to take their final exams and advance to the upper school.
The other group was much more composed. They were generally three to four years older—graduating upperclassmen from the academy—but right now, none of them looked pleased.
The reason for their grim expressions was simple.
Wherever you find people, you’ll find conflict, and this was especially true when students from the three great academies gathered together.
From the underclassmen’s spars to the "friendly exchanges" between the graduating students, Hurst Academy had already lost several matches in a row.
The Imperial Capital Academy, relying on their family backgrounds and resources, was naturally dominant.
Silver Moon Academy, with the home-field advantage, was completely in its element.
As if by some unspoken agreement, both sides had focused their attacks on the students from Hurst Academy.
Just a moment ago, a Tier One Shield Warrior from Hurst had been brought to his knees by a combo from a Half-Elf assassin from Silver Moon Academy, drawing a round of mocking laughter from the Imperial Capital students.
And at that very moment,
two graduating Priests were sparring in the center of the open space.
One of them, named Lucas, wore the pure white uniform of the Imperial Capital Academy and a silver Tier Two Priest badge on his chest.
He held a staff inlaid with a Holy Light Gemstone, his posture relaxed and his casting practiced. Every blast of Holy Light was precise and fierce.
His opponent, however, was Allen, the top Holy Light Priest among Hurst Academy’s graduating class, a young man who had only recently become a proper Tier One Priest.
"Holy Light Blast!"
Lucas pointed his staff, and a blinding white light slammed into Allen’s Holy Light shield, forcing him back several steps as a trickle of blood escaped the corner of his mouth.
"Mind Lash!"
Before Allen could react, an invisible whip followed, lashing his Sea of Spirit. He let out an involuntary grunt, his face instantly turned deathly pale, and his body went weak, causing him to drop to one knee.
"So this is the strength of Hurst Academy’s top graduating Priest?" A mocking smile played on Lucas’s lips as he slowly walked forward. He used his staff to gently lift Allen’s chin, his tone flippant. "A mere Tier One dares to call himself the top Priest? That’s hilarious. I suggest you withdraw from the competition early. Save yourself the humiliation on the island... or even losing your life."
Allen grit his teeth, propping himself up with his hands as he stubbornly refused to surrender. His eyes were filled with indignation. "I... I haven’t lost yet..."
"Still talking tough."
A flash of impatience crossed Lucas’s eyes. He took two steps back and raised his staff. A blinding light began to gather at its tip, and a dangerous aura spread through the air.
It was one of the most powerful offensive Holy Light spells—"Spear of Holy Light."
"Oh no, stop!"
On the Hurst Academy side, Master Lianna of the Holy Light System turned pale at the sight. Forgetting all rules, she flickered forward, about to rush out and save him.
She was normally caustic and cruel to the students of the Undead System, but she was fiercely protective of her own Holy Light students.
Seeing Allen in mortal danger, her voice grew shrill with panic.
However, a figure coldly blocked her path—it was the High Tier master from the Imperial Capital Academy.
He said with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, "Master Lianna, it’s just a student spar. If he can’t take it, he can surrender himself."
"You—!" Lianna trembled with rage, but she was helpless. All she could do was scream hoarsely toward the field, "Allen, surrender! Concede now!"
But Allen just raised his head stubbornly, showing no intention of giving in.
Meanwhile, Lucas’s "Spear of Holy Light" had already formed. With a wave of his staff, it transformed into a searing white spear of light and shot viciously toward Allen’s chest.
"It’s over..." The Hurst Academy students whispered, closing their eyes.
Just in the nick of time.
"CHUGGA-CHUGGA-CHUGGA! RUUUMBLE~~!!"
A deafening engine roar echoed from the sky, growing closer and closer. A Goblin Airship broke through the clouds and hovered over the port.
The sides of the airship were lined with a grim array of goblin cannons, emanating a thick, malevolent aura of Evil Qi.
Before the airship had even stabilized its hover,
a slender figure leaped from its deck.
"FWOOSH~~!"
Two silvery wings of pure Holy Light unfurled from her back, making her look like a descending Angel, refracting a dazzling silver radiance in the sunlight.
"Holy Light: Silver Radiance Aegis."
Following a clear, crisp cry, the figure gave a powerful beat of her silver wings. She became a silver meteor, diving down at incredible speed to land in front of Allen.
At the same time,
a hexagonal Silver Radiance Shield materialized before her, protecting both her and Allen behind her.
"BOOM~~"
The Spear of Holy Light slammed viciously into the Silver Radiance Shield, erupting in a blinding flash. The impact sent shockwaves through the air, but it failed to even make the shield tremble.
When the light faded, Avril Grant landed steadily on her feet, her white Priest robes billowing in the aftershock.
She shielded the injured Allen behind her, her clear eyes filled with a trace of anger as she looked coldly at Lucas. "It was just a spar. Was there any need to be so vicious?"
At this sight, the crowd of Hurst Academy students fell silent for a second, then erupted into a thunderous, sky-shaking cheer!
"It’s Avril! Avril’s here!"
"The Silver Radiance Angel! Our Silver Radiance Angel has come!"
Master Lianna was overcome with a mixture of joy and surprise, her eyes growing moist. She murmured, "Avril... my Avril. You’re finally here..."
