Chapter 411 - 136: Mama! You Are Both My Good Mamas
Chapter 411: Chapter 136: Mama! You Are Both My Good Mamas
A faint, blood-red mist began to swirl around Pale Elegy, the deathly aura of a Netherworld Demigod.
Behind the Moon Priestess, an illusory silver moon materialized. The chilly Moonlight Power made the surrounding temperature plummet.
Caught in the middle, Lynch felt as if his soul were being repeatedly tortured between ice and fire.
"Er... heheh..."
He gave a dry laugh and looked pleadingly toward Sea Song and Avril.
Although the two girls gave Lynch sympathetic looks, they were utterly helpless right now. Huddled in the back, they didn’t dare make a peep, even breathing cautiously.
As for Aus...
Lynch secretly scanned the area, only to find that the kid had long since hidden himself far away. He was now tucked behind a huge boulder in the ruins, excitedly scribbling away in the notebook he never went anywhere without. It seemed he was preparing to record this grand scene of "two Half-god Level beings fighting over my brother" in great detail.
’That damn Aus...’ Lynch cursed inwardly. ’When we get back, I’m sending you to the mines to keep Fernando company!’
Since things had already reached this point, Lynch decided to just go for broke.
He took a deep breath, composed himself, and the awkwardness and panic on his face vanished without a trace. In its place was an expression of utmost sincerity, even containing a hint of filial devotion.
He first looked at Pale Elegy, then took half a step forward, knelt on one knee, and placed his right hand over his chest. His voice was low and sincere.
"Lady Pale Elegy Victoria... you have always been the one to lend me a hand in my most perilous moments. From the lingering spirit of Yenogu, to the extermination of the Lord of Hell, to the crisis today—without your protection and your gifts, Lynch would have long since had his soul scattered to the winds. Though I have never said it aloud, in my heart... I have long considered you a mother, the most cherished of my elders."
He spoke with such genuine emotion that his eyes even reddened slightly.
Then, Lynch turned to the Moon Priestess, knelt on one knee again, and spoke with the same sincere tone.
"Your Excellency, Seren Hill... ever since I set foot in this Shadow Sanctuary, you have looked after me in so many ways. Not only did you teach me the Moonlight Power and bestow upon me a phantom, you were even willing to guard Lakefront Town for my sake. These kindnesses, Lynch has etched into his very soul, never daring to forget. In my heart, you are my dear mother."
Instantly, the scene fell deathly silent.
Even the dangerous auras emanating from the two mothers seemed to freeze solid.
With a SNAP, the parasol in Pale Elegy’s hand closed, her beautiful, blood-red eyes widening slightly.
The scepter in the Moon Priestess’s hand also paused, and a flash of astonishment crossed her cold face.
Apparently, neither of them had expected Lynch to be so... so shameless as to claim two mothers right to their faces!
Sea Song and Avril stared at each other.
Hiding behind Lynch, Baring’s Soul Body was so frightened it turned a few shades more transparent.
In the distance, Aus was so excited that the tip of his pen trembled as he furiously recorded in his notebook: "...Brother Lynch actually used the ’you are both my mothers’ gambit to simultaneously express filial devotion to two Half-god Level beings... Simply shameless, no, it’s a god-tier play..."
After a long moment, Pale Elegy was the first to snap out of it.
She gently tapped her chin with her folded fan, the corners of her lips curling into a half-smile. "Heh... Little mouse, your skin is quite a bit thicker than I imagined."
The Moon Priestess also gave a cold snort, but the frostiness in her eyes had dissipated somewhat. "Still such a smooth talker..."
Lynch secretly observed their expressions. Seeing that while the two mothers were still sharp-tongued, the dangerous aura around them had mostly vanished, he breathed a silent sigh of relief.
He was just plotting how to strike while the iron was hot and get the two mothers to team up to help him clear out the dark ruins outside.
The folded fan in Pale Elegy’s hand, however, whipped shut, and her expression instantly turned cold.
"Little mouse~" Her beautiful, blood-red eyes narrowed, staring straight at Lynch, her tone laced with a domineering air. "Although you spoke with genuine feeling... I am not willing to share a son."
Upon hearing this, the Moon Priestess also snorted coldly. Her chilly gaze likewise fixed on Lynch, her eyes like frost and snow. "Precisely. Lynch, my boy, you can only choose one mother."
"Wh-what?!"
Lynch froze on the spot, as if struck by lightning.
Avril and Sea Song were also stunned, their beautiful eyes wide and round.
The "scenes of carnage" they had heard of before were always about two or more girls fighting jealously over a boy, or vice versa. But now... Lord Lynch (Senior) had actually caused two Half-god Level beings to create a scene of carnage over... who got to be his mother?!
This was an unheard-of tale for the ages!
Hiding in the distance, Aus trembled with excitement. He wrote so fast the tip of his pen was practically flying, his eyes flashing with the fanatical light of someone witnessing history: "...The two Demigods are in disagreement over custody... Brother Lynch faces the ultimate choice... This is a Chapter of epic proportions..."
Lynch looked at the languid, dangerous Mother Elegy on his left, then glanced at the cold, noble Priestess Mother on his right. Suddenly, his expression became one of utter agony. He clutched his chest with both hands and took a step back.
His voice was tragic. "My two mothers... I have been a lonely orphan since childhood, drifting aimlessly through this world. To receive your pity and be treated as your own son has already made me the happiest person alive! If I were to lose Mother Elegy, it would be like having my left arm hacked off—the pain would be unbearable! But if I were to lose Priestess Mother, it would be like having my right arm severed—a fate worse than death..."
