Chapter 402: Chapter 135: We’re Screwed! The Two Moms Have Finally Met

...

Edmund hurriedly tried to smooth things over.

Viscount Fernando, however, suddenly spun around. He pointed at Lynch and shrieked, his voice a mix of fury and fear, "You little brat, don’t get cocky! If I tear up this document and report you to His Majesty, you can forget about becoming a Baron for the rest of your life! You..."

However, before he could finish his sentence, his body suddenly went rigid.

"CRACKLE~"

A thin layer of eerie blue frost spread up from his legs at a visible speed, covering his entire body in an instant.

Viscount Fernando’s expression became dull and mechanical. Even his eyes, once filled with venomous hatred, slowly turned a deep, icy blue.

"Wh... What is this?!" The other nobles stumbled back in terror.

It turned out that in that single moment, Ghost Yi had silently possessed and taken control of Viscount Fernando.

Under everyone’s dumbfounded gazes, the controlled Viscount Fernando walked step by step toward Lynch with a stiff, mechanical gait, and then—

With a THUD, he dropped to his knees. He then raised both hands high, offering the glittering gold scroll of enfeoffment to Lynch with utmost reverence.

Seeing this, Amadis, who had just started to step forward, froze. Her mouth opened, but no words came out.

’Oh, well.’

’I was about to step in and stop those nobles, use the Hayes family’s influence to back my junior up. I never thought my junior would act faster than I could speak.’

’Fine... Those idiots brought this upon themselves.’

She shook her head helplessly, thinking to herself, ’Worst case, I’ll write a letter to Grandpa later and have him mediate. I doubt this bunch of useless freeloaders would dare to defy the authority of the Duke of Sea Tide.’

Meanwhile, Leonard, commander of the Iron Wall Battle Group, was utterly dumbfounded, his eyes wide.

’He... he can actually do that?!’

’When I attended meetings at the military headquarters before, I heard people gossiping that this Lynch from Lakefront Town was incredibly domineering, that he wouldn’t even give Legion Commander Jais any face. I originally thought it was an exaggeration, but now it seems this Brother Lynch has a temper a hundred times wilder than I ever imagined.’

Lynch, on the other hand, remained perfectly calm.

He glanced down condescendingly at the kneeling Fernando, took the scroll of enfeoffment with one hand without even looking at it, and put it away. Then, he gave a perfunctory, casual salute in the general direction of the Imperial Capital. "My thanks to Your Majesty for the decree."

He couldn’t even be bothered to put on an act.

After hastily going through the motions, he waved his hand dismissively.

"WHOOSH~"

A translucent Shadow floated out of Viscount Fernando’s body and drifted obediently behind Lynch. It was Ghost Yi.

Freed from control, Viscount Fernando shivered violently. His teeth chattered, and he looked half-frozen.

He pointed a trembling finger at Lynch. "You... you have some nerve! How dare you..."

The other nobles rushed to support him, glaring angrily at Lynch. "Just you wait, this isn’t over! We’re going to report this to His Majesty and the Noble Committee!"

With that, they began to help Fernando leave.

"Who said you could leave?"

Lynch’s tone was calm, but it carried a chilling, heart-stopping coldness.

The nobles froze. They turned back to look at Lynch, fear finally showing in their eyes.

"Our soldiers on the front lines fight bravely, defending our homeland, shedding their blood and laying down their lives." Lynch slowly paced forward, his gaze as sharp as a knife as it swept across the lavishly dressed nobles. "It’s one thing for you maggots to be feasting and carousing in the rear, lost in luxury and debauchery. But now you dare to come to the front lines to solicit bribes and humiliate a hero?"

He paused, his voice turning icy. "Today, on behalf of the countless soldiers of the North Wind Legion, I will be seeking justice from you."

The Frost Mage Edmund, standing to the side, felt a drop of cold sweat trickle down his forehead. He was screaming internally, ’Wait, it’s not over? You little bastard, what right do you have to represent the North Wind Legion?!’

He had no choice but to step forward, clearing his throat. "Lynch, that’s enough..."

Lynch’s eyes narrowed as he looked at Edmund. "What, are you planning to side with them, Chief Mage?"

Edmund felt a sense of danger wash over him. For some reason, he had a feeling that if he interfered any further, this kid would turn on him right then and there.

Helpless, Edmund had no choice but to take a step back and say with a dry laugh, "I’m not with them, but... I’d just advise you to go a little easy. Don’t kill anyone."

Seeing that Edmund had clearly drawn a line, Lynch ignored him and said flatly, "Men."

"BOOM~"

A dozen or so Personal Guards and a mob of Purple Zombies and Black Corpses immediately stormed in from outside, surrounding Viscount Fernando and his entourage.

The zombies’ eye sockets flickered with Soul Fire as they let out low growls, instantly draining the color from the noble lords’ faces.

"Drag them out. Escort them to the West Ridge Mines and hand them over to Fritz for some proper labor reform." Lynch waved his hand as if shooing away flies. "Let them have a good taste of what ’creating value through labor’ really means."

"Yes, sir."

The Personal Guards immediately swarmed forward and began to drag the men away.

The group of nobles struggled desperately, screaming things like, "How dare you!", "I’m a noble!", and "His Majesty won’t let you get away with this!"

But soon, their mouths were stuffed with dirty rags. They could only make muffled "MMPH, MMPH" sounds as they were dragged outside like pigs to the slaughter, stripped of all dignity.

Just then, Lynch suddenly remembered something and added, "Oh, right. Didn’t they want to see some ’mermaids’? Arrange for each of them to have a few Fishmen. The Fish Giant kind. Males. The bigger, the better. Let them ’see’ for themselves what a real ’beauty’ is."
