Chapter 391: Chapter 133: A Complete Victory! Lynch’s Great Harvest

The morale of the Iron Wall Battle Group’s soldiers surged. They charged like tigers unleashed, relentlessly pursuing the routed enemy troops.

Xuan Yi also led the Undead Corps, rampaging through the fleeing mob and leaving a trail of bodies in their wake.

The routed soldiers fled for their lives, leaving behind a trail of corpses and men kneeling in surrender.

Seeing this, the soldiers still on the run were filled with utter despair. Only a single thought remained in their minds. ’Escape. We have to escape!’

Just then, a large army suddenly appeared on the horizon ahead.

Banners snapped in the wind above a forest of blades and spears. Their flag was the iconic white cross on a red field of the Blood Cross organization, and the lead general’s banner bore the single, largely embroidered word: "Fisher."

"It’s—it’s the Blood Cross Regiment!

"It’s Lord Angus!"

"Lord Angus has come to save us."

Clad in silver armor and mounted on a tall warhorse, Angus cut an imposing figure with over three thousand soldiers at his back.

He looked upon the wretched, fleeing soldiers, a look of "righteous indignation" on his face. He drew his longsword with a flourish and bellowed, "Brothers of our allied forces, do not panic! Withdraw! I will hold off the pursuers!"

"Blood Cross Regiment, form up! To arms!"

"Sir!"

Over three thousand soldiers roared their assent, swiftly falling into formation. In an instant, they formed a forest of spears and a wall of shields, a proud and imposing line standing before the pursuing army.

Seeing the appearance of this fresh force, the pursuing Iron Wall Battle Group and Xuan Yi’s men halted in the distance, clearly wary.

Seeing this, the routed soldiers scrambled behind Angus’s troops. One by one, they collapsed to the ground, gasping for air.

"We’re saved... finally, we’re saved..."

"Thank goodness Lord Angus arrived. We finally have someone to rally around..."

"Lord Angus is a man of incredible honor."

Under the cover of Angus’s forces, the routed soldiers managed to rally, no longer fleeing for their lives as before.

In the distance, Leonard saw Angus’s three thousand men arrayed for battle. Their formation was disciplined and their morale was high; he knew this would not be an easy force to face.

Meanwhile, his own forces were exhausted after the long battle. Furthermore, a large number of routed soldiers were now behind Angus’s lines. A direct assault would likely devolve into a bitter, drawn-out fight.

"Sound the gongs! Withdraw!"

Leonard ordered decisively.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The gongs signaling the retreat rang out. The Iron Wall Battle Group and Xuan Yi’s troops began a slow withdrawal, leaving behind a contingent to keep watch on the Angus Department while the rest began to clear the battlefield and secure prisoners.

Angus watched the enemy army retreat, his face still fixed in that expression of "grief" and "gravity."

"Quickly, treat the wounded and rally the troops!" he commanded in a loud voice. "I, Angus, will remember the vengeance owed for this day! When we have reorganized and march to war again, I will have vengeance for the two fallen commanders!"

"Yes, My Lord!"

The soldiers roared in unison.

The routed soldiers, who had just escaped with their lives, looked at Angus with eyes full of gratitude and awe.

As for what followed, Angus, of course, had no intention of leading his men to charge the Iron Wall Legion. After a brief rest, he began an orderly retreat, only halting in an open field after withdrawing nearly ten miles and confirming that the Iron Wall Battle Group was not in pursuit.

"Quickly, set up temporary tents! Treat the wounded!"

From atop his horse, Angus loudly directed the efforts. Every word and deed overflowed with concern for his allies. He even personally inspected the camp for the wounded, actively allocating all manner of healing resources.

Under his command, the routed soldiers gradually restored order.

After calming their own men, the mid-level officers who had served under the commanders Blackthorn and Iron-fang all gathered around Angus.

They were covered in dust and grime, their faces etched with fear.

"Lord Angus, what do we do now?" a high-ranking Tier Three officer asked, his voice trembling. "Both commanders are... gone. We are a flock without a shepherd!"

"Yes, my lord, you must decide for us!"

Angus took a deep breath, drew his longsword, and plunged it into the earth. "Brothers!" he cried out. "Master Blood Hand, Lord Blue Crow, Lord Blackthorn, Lord Iron-fang... they all died tragically at the hands of that vile villain, Lynch! If I do not avenge this, I, Angus, am not fit to be called a man!"

He scanned the faces around him, his gaze filled with a sorrowful resolve. "But a great enemy stands before us! We can only avenge our lords if we stand united! All who are willing to follow me, Angus, I will treat as my own brothers! We will live or die together!"

"We will follow Lord Angus!"

"Avenge the commanders!"

The routed soldiers had been lost to despair, but now, seeing this "man of loyalty and honor" step forward, they instantly found someone to rally behind.

After a period of recruitment and reorganization, Angus’s forces swelled by three to four thousand men. Though they were mostly the battered remnants of a defeated army, with some restructuring, they recovered a measure of their fighting strength.

"We will reorganize the troops and rebuild our strength," Angus said through "gritted teeth." "The day will come when I will personally take the head of that dog, Lynch, as an offering to the spirits of our fallen lords!"

Naturally, this was met with another round of cheers and support.

「At the same time, outside Grey Stone Pass, in the ruins of the coalition camp.」

Catherine Adela, the Holy Light’s Ice Rose, stared coldly at the man opposite her: Amadis Hayes, the Death Violet, who was clad in purple mage robes and held a staff of bone as white as jade.

One was an adherent of the Holy Light, the other a specialist in the path of death. They had been rivals since their academy days, where fights between them were commonplace.

Now, they were staring each other down, neither willing to yield an inch.

"Hmph. Well, aren’t *some people* impressive," Catherine said, crossing her arms as a flicker of mockery passed through her ice-blue eyes. "Charging in so fast with that pile of Skeletons. Anyone who didn’t know better would think it was a circus act."
